Chapter 2436 Death Paradise
Chapter 2436 Death Paradise
"A Bone Leviathan, huh? To think we'd actually come across one," Supreme Ruler Dena calmly remarked.
"The Bone Leviathan rarely appears, and there have only been a dozen sightings since we learned of its existence!" Gutou explained, his voice edged with panic.
The only thing keeping him from fleeing was the presence of the two Supreme Rulers. If he knew Supreme Ruler Grant's true identity, he likely wouldn't be trembling at all, much like Lev, who had barely reacted to its appearance.
Moments later, the Bone Leviathan came into view. As its name suggested, it was a long, serpent-like sea devil composed entirely of bone, its form resembling an enormous human spine, each segment like a grotesque vertebra.
Seeing the Bone Leviathan, Yuan was reminded of the Flying Leviathan.
'Am I cursed to keep encountering their species or something?' he wondered inwardly.
He retrieved Number One Under Heaven and prepared to confront it, but Supreme Ruler Dena stepped forward and said, "Let me fight it."
She was curious about its strength after hearing that only Supreme Ruler Exosso had been able to slay one.
"Be my guest."
Yuan moved back, putting away his sword.
Without another word, Supreme Ruler Dena shot forward to confront the Bone Leviathan.
Seeing someone as tiny as her charge in without fear, the Bone Leviathan felt only disdain, and if it could make facial expressions, its face would surely be twisted into a mocking smile at her recklessness.
Once she was close enough, Supreme Ruler Dena's crimson hair shot forth, coiling around the Bone Leviathan and instantly sealing its movements.
Then, she began to squeeze, steadily increasing her strength.
The Bone Leviathan thrashed, trying to break free, only to be stunned when it couldn't snap even a single strand of her hair.
Minutes later, it could no longer endure the crushing force and shattered into countless fragments.
"...?"
Supreme Ruler Dena gazed at the Bone Leviathan's shattered remains with a puzzled expression, then fell silent, hovering in place as though waiting for it to regenerate. However, minutes passed by without the slightest sign of recovery, and its scattered bones had already sunk out of sight into the crimson sea below.
She turned to look at Gutou with a slight frown and complained, "You call that weak thing the most terrifying sea devil in the Bone Atoll? What an exaggeration. It couldn't even withstand half of my strength."
"..."
Gutou's jaw dropped, falling so far down that it nearly touched the surface of the sea below.
"The Bone Leviathan wasn't weak! You're just absurdly powerful!" he cried out loud.
"What a disappointment," she sighed as she returned to them.
"W-What about its corpse? Its bones are priceless!" Gutou asked her without averting his gaze from the spot where the Bone Leviathan's corpse had sunk into.
"I don't care about it. You can have it if you want," she shrugged.
Without hesitation, Gutou dove into the crimson water.
Moments later, he resurfaced with the Bone Leviathan's corpse—and several sea devils clinging to him, their jaws clamped viciously into his flesh.
He would be a fool not to retrieve the Bone Leviathan's corpse, as this was only the second time one had ever been successfully hunted.
"Can I really have it?" he asked Supreme Ruler Dena in a nervous voice.
Instead of answering him, Supreme Ruler Dena turned to ask Yuan, "Do you want it?"
"Not really," he said with a slight shake of his head. "It seems like a durable material, but it's nothing to go crazy about, and I already have a treasure made from the same material."
Supreme Ruler Dena nodded before responding to Gutou, "You can keep it."
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Gutou repeated these two words a dozen times like a broken record.
They resumed their journey shortly later, and a few months later, they arrived at their destination.
"We've arrived," Gutou said as he came to a complete halt, his gaze staring toward the horizon, where it looked like night had fallen.
Meanwhile, at the Bone Atolls and even on the Crimson Continent, the sky remained crimson even at night, only getting slightly darker at night.
"I'm getting chills just looking at it," Lev remarked as his body literally trembled uncontrollably.
"Let me take a look at it first," said Yuan. "The rest of you stay here until I figure out the situation and whether I can safely bring you guys with me."
"I know you're human, but what if it's also poisonous for you?" Supreme Ruler Dena asked with a slightly worried face.
He smiled and calmly replied, "I am immune to poison, so even if it's poison, I will be fine."
Without another word, he left them to approach Death Paradise.
"I'll come with you," said the Demon Annihilation Sword.
Knowing that she was a treasure and not truly living, Yuan had no objections and allowed her to follow him into the Death Paradise.
Soon, Yuan arrived at the border, being only a few inches away from Death Paradise.
"Let's see what we have here…"
He extended his arm, pushing it into Death Paradise's territory.
Instantly, Yuan could feel a numbing sensation.
<Eternal Constitution(Incomplete) has activated>
<Eternal Constitution(Incomplete) has begun to refine 'Demon God's Ordeal'>
Yuan raised his eyebrows at the notification.
'Demon God's Ordeal? It's not a natural phenomenon?' he thought to himself.
<Eternal Constituion(Incomplete) has refined 'Demon Godms Ordeal'>
<Your Demonic Awakening has strengthened!>
Just by staying inside Death Paradise for a few minutes, Yuan's Demonic Awakening improved.
He turned to the Demon Annihilation Sword and asked her, "Do you feel anything?"
"No," she replied as she continued chewing on Supreme Ruler Exosso's bones.
"You're really taking your time with those bones, huh? How much do you have left?" Yuan asked.
The Demon Annihilation Sword showed him the rest of her supply—a single index finger.
"Go tell the others that I will be staying here for a few days to see if anything else happens," he then said.
She nodded before flying back to the group.
