Chapter 2387 Ancient Chaos
Chapter 2387 Ancient Chaos
“What a disgusting thing!”
The Queen Wraith of Demise’s expression twisted in disgust at the sight of the beast, yet it was not its grotesque form that repulsed her, but the sheer density of Chaotic Essence it exuded.
Unlike the black mountain, which leaked its Chaotic Essence in all directions, this creature possessed absolute control over its aura, compressing it into something far more concentrated—and infinitely more terrifying.
“What kind of beast is that?” Yuan asked, as he had never seen or heard of such a being before.
“I don’t know,” said the Queen Wratih of Demise. “But you’ll get rid of it, right?”
“I might have no other choice…” Yuan sighed with a bitter smile.
Meanwhile, the unknown beast remained eerily still, its gaze fixed solely on Yuan after its emergence—completely disregarding the Queen Wraith of Demise despite her close proximity. In fact, it did not spare her even a single glance.
Suddenly, it parted its massive jaws, revealing its sharp teeth, and a hoarse, eerie voice resounded from within, “How dare a mere human covet my power…”
Yuan raised a brow at the beast’s words, a flicker of surprise crossing his face. Yet it wasn’t its ability to speak that caught him off guard, but it was the fact that it had seen through him and recognized him as human.
“What are you?” Yuan asked.
“I am Ancient Chaos, one of the most primordial beings in this universe!” The beast declared.
“Ancient Chaos? Never heard of you.”
“Ignorant human… I have existed long before your kind ever came into existence…”
“Then enlighten me. Why were you hiding inside that mountain?”
The Ancient Chaos narrowed its eyes and fell silent for a moment before speaking, “What you just witnessed was not my emergence… but my birth.”
“Your birth? So you’re nothing more than a newborn?” Yuan said, his disbelief evident. It was hard to fathom how a being born mere moments ago could speak so clearly, let alone possess such overwhelming power.
Suddenly, a chilling sensation crawled up Yuan’s spine as the Ancient Chaos began to exude overwhelming killing intent.
“Had you not stolen my power and interrupted my birth, I would have been born whole! For your crime, I shall devour your existence!”
The Ancient Chaos shot toward Yuan in a blur, its immense body tearing through the air as both heads lunged forward, jaws stretched wide to devour him whole.
However, before it could reach Yuan, the Ancient Chaos snapped its jaws shut—biting into nothing but empty air.
‘This is—!’
Sensing something amiss, Yuan reacted instantly and left his position.
The very moment he moved, a black hole manifested where he had stood. It vanished less than a heartbeat later, leaving behind a gaping void in space itself, as though everything within it had been completely erased from existence.
‘What the hell?!’ Yuan cried inwardly.
The attack resembled his Demon Devouring Sword’s ability but appeared far more versatile and powerful.
“Oh? You actually managed to dodge that?” The Ancient Chaos commented in a somewhat impressed tone.
“So you can also use Void Manipulation, huh? Even though you were just born…” Yuan remarked with a cold smile.
Realizing this would be no easy battle, Yuan immediately activated Absolute Dragon Awakening and retrieved Number One Under Heaven. And seeing that the creature bore some resemblance to a dragon, he also summoned the Dragon God’s Vengeance without hesitation.
“Toys like that won’t be able to harm me!” The Ancient Chaos laughed menacingly as it lunged forward again.
Yuan swung his sword, unleashing a torrent of Supreme Sword Aura infused with Chaotic Essence.
Yet the Ancient Chaos did not so much as flinch, charging straight into the attack without hesitation. To Yuan’s astonishment, the strike passed cleanly through its body, as though it were nothing more than an illusion.
“Use Void Manipulation to attack it!” A familiar voice suddenly resounded from afar.
It was Supreme Ruler Dena.
Hearing this, Yuan immediately attacked again, this time using Void Manipulation.
“Your Void Manipulation is far too weak!” the Ancient Chaos mocked as it devoured Yuan’s second attack without effort.
“Then how about mine?!” Supreme Ruler Dena roared, unleashing her power as she struck with Void Manipulation.
This time, the Ancient Chaos did not charge in so recklessly, and its figure vanished into the void as it chose to evade her attack instead.
“He’s behind you!” Supreme Ruler Dena shouted, but the Ancient Chaos had already slipped behind Yuan like a phantom.
Just as its jaws began to part, a surge of Eternal Essence erupted from Yuan’s body, forcing the Ancient Chaos to recoil in startled surprise.
Then, it hastily retreated to a safe distance.
“That power…!” The Ancient Chaos fixed Yuan with its pitch-black gaze, a storm of fear and hatred churning within its eyes, its expression twisted as though recalling a distant, long-buried memory.
“You recognize this power as well?” Yuan asked, his intrigue deepening at the creature’s increasingly enigmatic existence.
“What is your name?” The Ancient Chaos suddenly asked.
“Yuan.”
“Yuan…?”
The Ancient Chaos fell silent for a moment, its presence turning eerily still before it spoke once more, its voice cold and resolute.
“Consider yourself fortunate today, Yuan. Newly born and incomplete, I lack the power to contend with both of you at once. But mark my words—I will return, and when I do, I will kill… devour you.”
“You’re going to run away? Do you think I’ll let you do that?” Yuan said.
“Try to stop me if you can…”
As it finished those words, the Ancient Chaos slipped into the void again.
Yuan tried to stop its retreat, but alas, his Void Manipulation was too weak to do anything. As for Supreme Ruler Dena, she was also in no condition to chase after it.
“Seriously, what the hell was that thing?” Yuan muttered out loud as he helplessly watched the Ancient Chaos disappear toward the Starry Sky. Suddenly, a voice resounded inside Yuan’s head.
“Ancient Chaos… It’s been a while since I heard that name…”
Hearing this voice, Yuan turned to look at the Dragon God’s Vengeance.
“Yeyou? You recognize it?” he immediately asked.
