When Kulas’ wives saw him, the stress on their faces instantly weakened, and they appeared more relieved.

“What’s wrong? Why aren’t you going inside?” he asked them.

The women turned to look at the door and swallowed nervously, before one of them responded, “There’s an inexplicable feeling coming from the room… No matter how much we try to open it, our instincts prevent us from doing so.”

“Is that so? Then get back. I’ll check on Kulas alone.”

Tian Yang walked to the door and opened it without any issue.

The moment the door opened, a sinister aura surged out of the room, causing the women outside to collapse unconscious.

Tian Yang felt overwhelmed by the aura, but he managed to hang onto his consciousness.

Despite the dreadful feeling, Tian Yang entered the room and closed the door behind him.

The inside of the room was pitch black, and Tian Yang could still see Kulas’ silhouette by the bed, but he wasn’t lying on it. Rather, he was standing beside it.

Tian Yang narrowed his gaze and spoke in a cautious tone, “Who are you?”

Although the figure belonged to Kulas, Tian Yang felt something was off—like he was standing before a different person.

Kulas turned his head with stiff movements until his red eyes glared at Tian Yang.

“So you are the one who has been interfering with my plans. A mere mortal like you…”

Tian Yang frowned as he instantly realized that he was currently in the presence of the Eternal behind Kulas’ illness.

“Are you an Eternal?” Tian Yang had to confirm his identity.

“Oh? You knew about us?”

The Eternal responded in a surprised voice.

“No, I shouldn’t be surprised. This makes perfect sense. After all, there’s no way a mortal could cut off my influence.”

“What are you talking about?” Tian Yang asked, genuinely puzzled by the Eternal’s words.

The Eternal narrowed his gaze at Yuan.

“Who is the Eternal ordering you to mess with me?”

“I think you’re misunderstanding something. Nobody is ordering me to do anything.”

“Do you really expect me to believe you? You, who has been granted a ‘gift’ by an Eternal?”

The Eternal’s words made Tian Yang recall the ‘gift’ that Shura gave him during their first meeting. However, he was never told what that gift was.

“I really don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“The power to reduce another Eternal’s influence… Whoever is behind you must be really powerful.”

It was really subtle, but there was a hint of fear within the Eternal’s voice.

“What…?” Tian Yang’s eyes widened at the Eternal’s words.

He has the power to reduce Eternals’ influence? Is that why Kulas’ illness wouldn’t trigger when he was around? It finally made sense. Yet, he couldn’t fathom why Shura would grant him such a gift.

“Whoever is behind you… Tell them to stop interfering with me, Zaaran!”

Tian Yang finally learned the identity of the Eternal behind Kulas’ illness, and it was in a fashion that he never anticipated.

“What do you want with Kulas? Why are you trying to kill him?” Tian Yang suddenly asked.

“Kill him? Why would I kill such a useful puppet?” Zaaran sneered before continuing in an angry voice. “The reason he hasn’t been able to wake up and finish his transformation is because of your interference, mortal!”

“What? Transformation?”

“Did you really think a mortal like him would be able to create something like the Giant Race? If it weren’t for you, he would’ve completed his transformation into a new existence—a true giant ages ago! But because of you, it was halted, and I am forced to possess his body and forcefully awaken him!” Tian Yang was left speechless by the revelation. He could never have imagined that the cause of Kulas’s mood swings and illness was his ongoing transformation into a true giant—and that Tian Yang himself was the reason Kulas could not complete it, leaving him trapped in a coma.

However, if becoming a true giant required Kulas to descend into madness, then Tian Yang would rather see the transformation fail altogether. In fact, he’d purposefully prevent it from happening.

“Why are you trying to turn Kulas into a true giant? What is your goal here?” Tian Yang then asked.

“Isn’t it obvious?” The Eternal responded with a cold smile. “I am doing this because he asked for it! Of course, I am not helping him for free. However, that is none of your business.”

The Eternal suddenly started walking toward Tian Yang.

However, the Eternal abruptly stopped moving after only taking two steps.

“Tsk.” The Eternal sucked his teeth in annoyance and muttered in a low voice. “Which reckless bastard gave you such a power? They must be out of their mind!”

Even though the Eternal wanted to approach Tian Yang, his power that reduced Eternals’ influence made it difficult for the one possessing Kulas’ body to approach him, as it would weaken his control over the body.

Tian Yang then said, “I don’t care what arrangements you made with Kulas, but I won’t allow you to play with his life as you please, even if you are an Eternal.”

“Hahaha! And what do you think you, a mere mortal, can do to stop me?! Although you may be able to weaken our influence, you are overestimating your powers!” The Eternal laughed out loud as he unleashed immense killing intent.

Sensing the killing intent, Tian Yang instinctively acted and swung his arm, punching Kulas right in the face.

“Wake up!”

Kulas was sent flying to the other side of the room and slammed into the wall.

After a moment of silence, Kulas stood up and looked at Tian Yang, but his red eyes had disappeared and returned to their original color.

“I’m sorry for troubling you like this…” Kulas sighed.

While the Eternal had possessed his body, Kulas was conscious the entire time and witnessed their conversation.

“Why didn’t you tell me that you were in contact with an Eternal?” Tian Yang asked with narrowed eyes, his voice full of disappointment.
