Chapter 1912 - 1912: Extreme Yin Lake
“I understand their desire for power, but what’s the point if you turn into a monster at the end?” Xi Meili shook her head after hearing about Demon Worshippers. She could still vividly recall the grotesque transformation she witnessed during Yuan’s trial.
“That usually only happens when one consumes too much demon blood. A few drops won’t turn one into a monster, but there is still a high chance it will affect their mind by making them more aggressive, hot-tempered, and unreasonable,” Yuan explained further.
“I was told this place was attacked recently by the Demon Worshippers, hence why it’s empty right now.” Tan Songyun suddenly revealed.
She turned to look at Yuan and asked, “So, what are your plans now?”
Yuan fell into deep thought, his expression unreadable as he pondered in silence.
He didn’t know the exact reason behind the Demon Worshippers’ sudden activity, but that didn’t mean he was clueless. His mind drifted back to his encounter with the Demon Emperor Carnage a few years ago. Could this surge in Demon Worshipper activity be connected to him?
‘If it’s really the Demon Emperor’s doing, something big will definitely happen soon, and I should get ready for it.’
Yuan looked at Tan Songyun and asked, “Do you know of any place with extreme yin element? The colder the place, the better.”
“A place of extreme yin element, huh? Does it have to be in the Sixth Heaven?” she asked.
“No, but it would be great if there is one here.”
Tan Songyun pondered for a moment before responding, “The Extreme Yin Lake. It’s located in the Sixth Heaven and is a very popular place for cultivators who specialize in the yin element.”
Yuan nodded and said, “Then that will be my next destination.”
He wanted to improve his cold immunity further so his physique could evolve.
“I don’t mind, but why? You don’t even cultivate Yin Qi.”
“I’m not going there to cultivate. It’s to temper by body and train my cold immunity,” he explained.
“Is that so…?”
Despite knowing his purpose, Tan Songyin still couldn’t understand why he needed to train his cold immunity now. It just seemed too random and out of the blue.
With their next destination in mind, Yuan and his group made their way to the Extreme Yin Lake.
The Extreme Yin Lake was located near the Frozen Cloud Ethereal Sect, one of the most prestigious and powerful sects in the Sixth Heaven.
Renowned not only for their peerless ice-based martial techniques, the sect was also widely recognized as a gathering place for the most beautiful women in the realm.
In the cultivation world, women are naturally attuned to the yin element, while most men are inherently aligned with yang energy. This natural balance follows the fundamental principles of Yin and Yang, where Yin represents coldness, tranquility, and the moon, while Yang embodies warmth, intensity, and the sun.
Because of this, female cultivators tend to naturally excel in Yin-based techniques, making the Frozen Cloud Ethereal Sect a predominantly female sect. However, there exist a few exceptions—men born with an extremely rare natural affinity for Yin energy. Their numbers are so few that they can be counted on one hand.
After traveling for several days, Yuan and his group arrived at their destination, the Extreme Yin Lake.
“Wow, it’s beautiful…” Xi Meili muttered, her eyes shimmering as she gazed at the breathtaking scenery before them.
The Extreme Yin Lake was nestled within a valley of towering snowy mountains, their peaks blanketed in pristine white. The air was crisp and cool, carrying a faint, almost ethereal chill that seemed to seep into the soul. The entire landscape radiated a serene, otherworldly beauty, untouched and pure, as if frozen in time.
The temperature in the area was a staggering -200 degrees Celsius, an unbearable cold that could freeze cultivators unprepared for such extreme conditions.
Yet, despite the frigid atmosphere, the lake’s surface remained untouched by ice. The water flowed with an almost ethereal stillness, shimmering under the pale light, as if defying the very laws of nature.
If one looked closely, they would notice several individuals seated around the Extreme Yin Lake, immersed in deep cultivation.
Most of them remained near the snowy banks, absorbing the pure Yin Qi radiating from the lake. However, two figures stood out, and they were cultivating directly on top of the lake itself.
“How long are you going to stay here?” Tan Songyun asked.
“I don’t know yet since it’ll depend on how effective this training spot is, but I’ll be here for a few days, at the very least.”
“In that case, I’ll visit the Frozen Cloud Ethereal Sect. I know their Sect Leader.”
“Can I come with you? I’d like to see the sect, and I don’t like this coldness.” Xi Meili said.
“Sure.” Tan Songyun nodded. “Then we’ll be back in a few days. Try not to cause any trouble.”
“Yes, mother,” Yuan responded in a joking tone.
Tan Songyun trembled, and she immediately responded with an angry frown, “Don’t you ever call me that again, even as a joke.”
Yuan chuckled, “Sorry.”
After Tan Songyun and Xi Meili departed, Yuan made his way toward the Extreme Yin Lake, his steps steady despite the piercing cold.
With each step closer, the temperature plummeted even further, the air itself growing heavier with dense Yin energy. The chilling aura seeped into his skin, biting at his bones, but he pressed forward, undeterred.
As for Lan Yingying and Yingzi, one entered his Dantian while the other his shadow.
<Cold Resistance has improved>
<Cold Resistance has improved>
Yuan smiled after seeing the notification.
‘It’s nothing compared to the training grounds within the Primal Expanse, but I doubt I’ll find a training place that extreme in the Sixth Heaven.’
When Yuan got close enough, the cultivators who had been cultivating by the Extreme Yin Lake finally paid attention to him.
‘A man? Why is he wearing a mask?’
‘Who’s that? He’s not a disciple at our Frozen Cloud Ethereal Sect…’
Although the disciples were curious about Yuan’s presence, they chose not to approach or disturb him. Instead, they merely observed in silence, their gazes carrying a mix of intrigue and caution.
It was rare for an outsider—especially a man—to approach the Extreme Yin Lake, let alone withstand its intense cold. Yet, Yuan walked forward with unwavering composure, as if the bone-chilling temperature had no effect on him.
