Cultivation: Immunity to Negative Effects
Chapter 319 - 315: The Sixth Spiritual Object
Chapter 319: Chapter 315: The Sixth Spiritual Object
"Sir, to enter this Marketplace, you must pay a fee of one hundred Middle Grade spirit stones. Only Nascent Soul True Monarchs are exempt!"
Just then, as Zhang Chi arrived at the entrance to the Marketplace, he was stopped by several heavily-armed Guards with Golden Core Early Stage Cultivation.
"And who says I’m not a Nascent Soul?"
Zhang Chi retorted coldly. As his powerful Divine Thought swept over them, the Golden Core Guards were immediately filled with a bone-chilling dread.
"Please forgive us, Senior! Our Cultivation is too low. We were blind and failed to recognize a True Monarch..."
Pale with fright, the Guards scrambled to apologize.
"Enough," Zhang Chi said, cutting them off with a wave of his hand. "I can’t be bothered to bicker with juniors like you. However, this is my first time here and I’m not familiar with the area. I have a few questions for you, and you must answer them thoroughly."
"Please ask, Senior. We will tell you everything we know," the Guards replied, nodding eagerly as they breathed a collective sigh of relief.
"Good. I’m looking to trade some High Tier goods. Are there any high-level private exchanges held here?" Zhang Chi asked.
"Yes, there is. In the center of the Marketplace, there’s a shop called the Celestial Secret Pavilion. They hold an auction every month, and after the auction, there’s a trade meet."
"That trade meet is where you’ll find High Tier goods. Even Nascent Soul True Monarchs like you, Senior, often attend."
"However, to participate in the trade meet, you must first purchase at least one item at the auction. And to attend the auction, you first need to buy an item from the second floor of the Celestial Secret Pavilion."
The Guard answered truthfully at once.
Although a powerful expert watched over this place—one this man might not dare to provoke—getting rid of a few small-fry guards like them would be effortless.
So they didn’t dare refuse.
Besides, this information wasn’t a secret, so there was no harm in sharing it.
"I see. Very well, I understand now."
Zhang Chi gave a slight nod, then ignored the guards and walked directly into the Marketplace.
"What are you staring at? Hurry up and pay the Spirit Stones!"
Only then did the Guards truly relax, immediately barking coldly at the Cultivators waiting in line.
"Of course, sir."
These Cultivators had been staring at Zhang Chi’s back with a mixture of awe and envy. Snapping back to reality, they forced smiles and obediently complied.
Meanwhile, Zhang Chi soon arrived before the Celestial Secret Pavilion. Following a group of other Cultivators, he strode inside.
At the same time, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation.
This was because the Celestial Secret Pavilion’s building was itself a High Tier Magical Treasure, its surface shrouded by a powerful Array. Even with his formidable Divine Thought, he was surprisingly unable to probe the situation inside.
This told him that the Celestial Secret Pavilion was anything but ordinary.
It was unlike the stalls outside, which, despite having plenty of Cultivation Materials, were of an overall Level no higher than that of Beichen Tower.
The only difference was that many of the goods here came from questionable sources; they were cheaper, but the quality was inconsistent. Some items might even be harmful to a Cultivator.
The Celestial Secret Pavilion, however, was different. Once inside, Zhang Chi found it was every bit as impressive as Beichen Tower.
The interior was not only spacious and multi-leveled, but it also boasted a dazzling array of goods—they seemed to have everything.
At the same time, through his powerful perception, Zhang Chi sensed that there wasn’t just one Nascent Soul True Monarch present, but several.
However, to be cautious, Zhang Chi refrained from directly using his Divine Thought to probe for details.
Next, Zhang Chi browsed around briefly. Finding the first floor was filled with items for the Foundation Establishment Realm, he went straight to the second floor.
The second floor, in turn, was filled with things useful to Golden Core Cultivators.
Zhang Chi looked around but found nothing of particular interest. So, he simply bought a bottle of the cheapest Tier Three Spiritual Pills, presented his proof of purchase, and went up to the third floor of the Celestial Secret Pavilion.
This third floor was precisely where the auction was held.
He also noticed that many other Cultivators were there with the same purpose as him, all of them possessing at least Golden Core Cultivation.
Upon entering the auction hall, he discovered that of the thousand-plus seats, half were already taken.
He found a random corner to sit in. Half an hour later, the place was packed, and the last Cultivators to arrive had to stand at the back.
Of course, some Cultivators, relying on their high Cultivation, forced earlier arrivals to give up their seats.
Most of those with lower Cultivation would obediently give up their seats.
After all, although fighting was forbidden here, no Cultivator dared to offend someone with a higher Cultivation level.
As for Zhang Chi, he was using the Divine Concealment Technique. With his Cultivation obscured, his icy aura, and his unremarkable seat, no one came to bother him.
After another moment, the doors to the third floor were finally closed. A tall, masked, Black-robed Cultivator then flew down onto the raised platform in the center of the auction hall.
A glimmer of Spiritual Light flashed in Zhang Chi’s eyes. He realized this Cultivator was a Nascent Soul Middle Stage expert.
He also detected at least three other Cultivators with Nascent Soul Cultivation in the audience, which made him grow quite expectant.
"Alright, it looks like everyone’s here. Let the auction begin. I am an Elder of the Celestial Secret Pavilion, and I will be your host for this auction."
"Furthermore, the old rules still apply: those who successfully purchase an item may stay behind to participate in the trade meet."
"Of course, those who do not wish to participate in the trade meet are free to leave once the auction is over."
"If you have an item you wish to consign to the Celestial Secret Pavilion for sale, you will also gain eligibility for the trade meet upon its successful sale. However, regardless of whether it sells, the Celestial Secret Pavilion will charge a fee of five percent of the starting price in Spirit Stones."
After these brief remarks, the Black-robed Cultivator brushed a hand over the Storage Bag at his waist, took out the first auction item, and began his introduction.
