Cultivation: Immunity to Negative Effects
Chapter 292: Unlocking the Nascent Soul’s Storage Bag
Chapter 292: Chapter 292: Unlocking the Nascent Soul’s Storage Bag
’This Spiritual Vein is truly excellent! It’s enough for multiple Golden Core Cultivators to train together. No wonder the Lang and Shen Families both chose this place in the beginning.’
’If I cultivate here alone, the effects will be even better, and my progress will be that much faster!’
Zhang Chi had already arrived deep within the Qin Mountain Oasis, hovering in the sky above a mountain range shaped like a guqin.
The Oasis had many Spiritual Veins, and this Qin Mountain location, in particular, housed a Tier Three Peak Spiritual Vein.
Moreover, it was quite distant from the other Spiritual Veins and human settlements in the Oasis.
This meant he could cultivate in peace. With an Array for cover, a normal breakthrough would never be discovered by others. Even the other Cultivators in the Oasis would be hard-pressed to notice.
Atop Qin Mountain were ready-made residences—pavilions and terraces shrouded in clouds and mist, looking like a celestial paradise.
However, these residences were devoid of Cultivators.
The previous occupants had all moved out and even tidied the place up before the competition had even concluded.
The entire Qin Mountain was protected by an innate Array. Only by using the Golden Seal of the Master of the Oasis, a gift from the Divine Palace Envoy, could Zhang Chi activate the Tier Three Peak Formation here.
SWISH, SWISH...
Still, Zhang Chi wasn’t taking any chances. He pulled out more than a dozen Array Flags and several Array Discs, laying down three additional Tier Three Formations he had refined himself. Only then did he truly feel secure.
With so many Arrays for protection, once they were all fully activated, even an Early Stage Nascent Soul True Monarch would have a tough time forcing their way through.
Of course, to truly stop a Nascent Soul Powerhouse or a Tier Four Demon Beast, he would need a Tier Four Array.
This was one of the main reasons Zhang Chi was so keen on acquiring a Tier Four Array.
Next, Zhang Chi formed a hand seal for a Spirit Technique, and the entirety of Qin Mountain was instantly shrouded in an even denser, more ethereal mist.
This mist was a byproduct of the Grand Array’s activation.
And since the Spiritual Qi here was so abundant, the Grand Array didn’t require any extra Spirit Stones to run, unless he operated it at full power.
With that done, Zhang Chi finally took out the Eye of the Spirit Spring, the Earth Milk Spiritual Spring, and the Celestial Corpse Coffin, placing them all at the heart of the Tier Three Peak Spiritual Vein.
As for the original residences, he used an Earth Element Technique to quickly merge them into a single, cohesive complex.
He even planted some Spirit Medicines in the prepared herb gardens.
At last, he took out a massive quantity of Spirit Stones and poured them into the Eye of the Spirit Spring as if they were worthless.
Soon, the Eye of the Spirit Spring began to boil violently. The space around it trembled as its quality shot up, only stopping once it reached Tier Three Peak.
A pillar of Spiritual Light erupted skyward, but it went unnoticed, concealed by the multiple layers of Arrays and its sheer distance from any other Cultivators.
With the Eye of the Spirit Spring upgraded, Zhang Chi instantly felt the Spiritual Qi throughout his residence become significantly richer and more abundant.
"Excellent!"
Zhang Chi had been pained by the immense cost of the Spirit Stones, but now he couldn’t help but break into a smile. It was worth every single one.
Now that he had the Spiritual Spring and Spiritual Vein, and with no shortage of other resources, he estimated it would only take about forty years for his Cultivation to ascend to the next level.
Next, Zhang Chi poured all his remaining Spirit Stones into the Celestial Corpse Coffin. Soon, Corpse Puppet No. 1 once again broke through its limits.
ROAR!
Corpse Puppet No. 1 let out a tremendous roar as it violently absorbed the Spiritual Qi and the black-glowing Corpse Evil circulating within the Black Coffin. In an instant, the aura emanating from its body transformed, reaching Tier Three Peak.
A vast swathe of dark clouds suddenly materialized in the sky, clearly visible even from hundreds of miles away.
After its breakthrough, the Corpse Puppet’s defense, strength, and the power of its Corpse Evil all received a massive boost.
Because Qin Mountain was so vast, the breakthrough went completely unnoticed by the outside world.
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM!
Zhang Chi then sparred with Corpse Puppet No. 1 for a while and found that it could finally hold its own against him.
By his estimation, the Corpse Puppet’s overall Combat Power was in no way inferior to Lang Shiyuan’s and perhaps even surpassed Shen Jianping’s.
"Not bad at all,"
Zhang Chi nodded in satisfaction.
His only regret was that even though the Corpse Puppet had broken through, it was still a long way from reaching Tier Four.
But Zhang Chi wasn’t worried.
After all, he had his Spirit Sword as a trump card and had no plans to go out looking for a fight anytime soon. The Corpse Puppet’s current strength was more than sufficient.
Besides, even if he could somehow get the Corpse Puppet to Tier Four right now, he was certain he wouldn’t be able to control it.
He was, after all, only a Late Stage Golden Core Cultivator.
But while the upgrades to the Corpse Puppet and the Eye of the Spirit Spring were enormous, the vast fortune of Spirit Stones Zhang Chi had previously amassed was now almost completely spent.
Fortunately, he still had plenty of assets he hadn’t liquidated and could expect a steady stream of income in the future, so he wasn’t too concerned.
’Right, time to try that Traceless Water.’
Zhang Chi recalled the Corpse Puppet and returned to his residence. He sat cross-legged on a Cyan Jade Bed inscribed with a Spirit Gathering Array, then took out a black Storage Bag and began to examine it closely.
This Storage Bag was a Celestial Grade magical artifact. While the space inside was nowhere near as vast as Zhang Chi’s Storage Ring, it was still quite large.
It belonged to the Nascent Soul of the Demon Cultivator whose physical body Zhang Chi had destroyed.
Zhang Chi first tried to refine it directly, circulating his Spiritual Power, Blood Flame, Sword Essence, and even his Spirit Fire, but progress was still painstakingly slow.
So, he took out the vial of Traceless Water he had traded for. Using the Exorcism Technique, he levitated a single drop and let it fall onto the Storage Bag.
The Storage Bag instantly absorbed the droplet, living up to the name "Traceless Water" by leaving no mark behind.
At the same moment, the Demon Cultivator’s Spiritual Power imprint on the bag was washed away completely, not a single trace left behind.
This time, when Zhang Chi swept his Divine Thought over the bag, he was able to probe its contents directly.
"Excellent!"
Overjoyed, Zhang Chi put away the remaining Traceless Water, then upended the Storage Bag, dumping all of its contents onto the floor.
In an instant, the entire residence was filled with the dazzling glow of treasures, though a wisp of Demonic Qi also emerged.
However, Zhang Chi simply circulated his Magical Power and, with a flash of fire, quickly purified all the Demonic Qi.
As he looked closely at his spoils, his eyes lit up.
The items formed a pile as tall as a man. Aside from a few daily necessities, everything else was incredibly valuable. Any single item would be a great stroke of fortune for a Low Tier Cultivator.
Fortunately, Zhang Chi’s Divine Thought was powerful, allowing him to quickly take inventory and sort through it all.
There were over 110,000 Middle Grade spirit stones alone.
Then there were Ores, Spirit Medicines, and Spirit Pills, almost all of which were at least Tier Three. Combined, they could easily fetch around another 100,000 Middle Grade spirit stones.
Finally, there were several Tier Four items. These were the real prize, each one incredibly precious.
These included two Magical Treasures, both of which were Upper Grade.
The first was a shimmering, golden Flying Shuttle. It could be used as a flying-type Magical Treasure, but also for both offense and defense.
The other was a Treasure Saber whose surface crackled with arcs of purple lightning.
The saber was massive, its entire silver-white blade gleaming with a cold light. Even unrefined, it radiated an incredibly sharp and menacing aura.
Seeing them, Zhang Chi was both thrilled and immensely relieved.
’Thank goodness I managed to intimidate him with my aura,’ he thought. ’His mind was addled from the Demonization, so he had these Magical Treasures but didn’t even think to use them.’
’Otherwise, even if my one sword strike had succeeded, I would have had to face these two powerful Magical Treasures right after.’
While an Upper Grade Magical Treasure might be considered average for a Nascent Soul Cultivator, to a Golden Core Cultivator, it was an absolutely priceless treasure.
