Chapter 307 - 169: Three Moves
SWOOSH!!
The neck of the burly, black-robed young man floating in the void dropped away, smooth as a mirror’s surface. In an instant, his head was severed from his body. Blood sprayed out as his corpse plummeted to the ground!
Gu Yun’s figure was as steady as a pine tree as he hovered mid-air. He gripped his long saber, his clothes fluttering and his hair whipping wildly. His expression was as placid as still water, not a single ripple of emotion in his eyes. Arcs of thunder crackled around him, invisibly showcasing his tyrannical momentum.
"To be able to withstand three of my moves, you were actually quite strong," Gu Yun said faintly, looking at the decapitated corpse of the burly, black-robed young man.
[8th Layer, challenge cleared. Continue?]
The very instant the burly, black-robed young man’s body hit the ground and his blood splattered across the sky,
the Artifact Spirit’s cold voice boomed throughout the world.
Yet, Gu Yun seemed to detect a hint of warmth in that cold voice. ’Or maybe it’s just my imagination.’
"Continue!"
Gu Yun said softly.
「Meanwhile」
In a hidden space somewhere, a figure of light was watching everything. A trace of surprise flickered in its cold eyes.
"Tens of thousands of years... It wasn’t a wasted wait.
He easily killed the projection left behind by that person from the Celestial Desolation Sect in the One-Star Tower."
"It seems he has a slight chance of obtaining that thing.
Damn it, even I’m starting to look forward to it..."
...
「Holy Origin Secret Realm」
In a gloomy, terrifying, and utterly bizarre mountain forest, a vast expanse of giant, misshapen, and sinister white bones lay ahead. Layer upon layer of bones were piled on top of each other, seemingly forming a veritable ocean of skeletons.
"My oh my.
Purple Celestial Crane Grass, my little treasure, what are you doing in a place like this?
Are you trying to scare this Daoist Master to death?!" The Fat Daoist puffed out his belly, which was nearly bursting through his robes, and waddled through the gloomy, bizarre forest thick with Evil Qi.
In the distance, a Purple Celestial Crane Grass—shaped like a feathered crane, with two branches hanging down like legs and emitting a hazy purple light—made a fleeting appearance. It suddenly materialized, then flickered away, teleporting deeper into the forest.
"Hey now!"
"You’re running? Let’s see you run!!"
The Fat Daoist’s narrow eyes keenly tracked the fleeting purple light. His figure, surprisingly agile, was like a soaring dragon as he stepped through space and gave chase!
The deeper he went, the more bizarre the surrounding forest became. The piles of bones at the sides grew larger and more numerous, and a dense Blood Evil Qi permeated everything.
Suddenly,
BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ!
A faint buzzing sound drifted from the dark forest depths. The air vibrated, emitting the sound of Powerful Qi.
Soon, an overwhelming fog of Blood Evil surged forth like a tsunami, blotting out the sky. Space itself trembled violently as if roiled by stormy waves. The sky-sweeping fog of Blood Evil covered the heavens, blocked out the light, and surged toward the Fat Daoist from all directions!
"Whoa there,
This is... Blood Evil Bees!"
Blood Evil Bees. Ancient texts recorded that they could devour flesh and blood to strengthen themselves. ’No wonder there are so many bones here—it’s likely from the Demon Beasts of all sizes that the Blood Evil Bees have devoured.’
"So scary!"
The moment the words left his mouth, the Fat Daoist’s speed increased. Like a golden meteor, he broke through space, heading straight in the direction the Purple Celestial Crane Grass had fled.
Meanwhile, the sky-blotting swarm of Blood Evil Bees behind him, which had dyed the sky crimson, seemed to have caught the scent of fresh flesh and blood. They swept forward like a demented storm, leaving nothing but barren earth in their wake.
In a mere instant, the countless ancient trees they swept past were turned to dust!!
Staring at the roiling, sky-blotting fog of Blood Evil surging behind him,
a flash of anger crossed the face of the Fat Daoist who was still chasing the Purple Celestial Crane Grass.
"Damn, you’re so clingy. Are you damn dogs or bees?
Do you really think this Daoist Master is afraid of you?!"
As his voice fell, the Fat Daoist’s pace quickened even more. Skimming through space like a roaming dragon, his figure shot even faster into the depths of the gloomy, dark forest.
But the speed of the Blood Evil Bees behind him, which swarmed like a crimson fog, also suddenly increased.
From a distance, the sky looked as if it were gradually being dyed from a dark, gloomy color to blood-red by the enormous, sweeping swarm of Blood Evil Bees.
BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ!!
Wherever the Blood Evil Bees passed, the world changed color and all life withered. Even mountains that stood tall and firm like pine trees were reduced to powder when they encountered the swarm, their remains scattering across the land.
"Son of a bitch!
Time and time again!
Again and again!!
Do you think this Daoist Master is someone you can provoke?!"
The Fat Daoist stared at the relentless, sky-blotting swarm of Blood Evil Bees and flew into a rage. He immediately widened his narrow eyes, slapped his huge, round belly, and whipped out a pale red Talisman. It was carved with Profound Mysterious Inscriptions and radiated a scorching heat.
"Heaven-Burning Red Flame Talisman!"
A sharp glint flashed in the Fat Daoist’s narrow eyes as he formed a profound Seal with one hand.
"Annihilate!"
As the Fat Daoist’s murderous words faded,
the pale red Talisman, carved with Profound Mysterious Inscriptions and radiating scorching heat, floated up into the air. It then erupted into a sky-full of raging flames that stretched for hundreds of miles, forming an Endless Fire Domain that blazed furiously, as if to burn the very void to ashes!
Immediately after, the endless inferno that stretched for hundreds of miles seared through the heavens and surged upwards, moving to incinerate the sky-blotting swarm of Blood Evil Bees that resembled a dense fog!!
...
Deep within the Qingyuan Mountain Range, around a pale golden vortex that floated mid-air, four figures stood suspended. The vortex was engraved with Profound Mysterious Inscriptions and seemed to be held by a Seal resembling a web of chains. The four figures were wreathed in a hazy glow, and all of them radiated a powerful aura.
