Cultivation: I Can Traverse Otherworlds
Chapter 569: Demon Invasion
At some unknown time, a fierce wind swept in, tearing across the entirety of Taiyuan Prefecture. Fallen leaves danced and dust swirled into the air.
A dark cloud drifted over, obscuring the last rays of the setting sun. The sprawling city was plunged into a darkness so thick you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face.
In the City Lord’s Mansion, the Sanhe Gang, the Zhou Family, and the Nie Family, certain individuals suddenly looked up at the sky.
“Demon Qi!”
Li Xianshan, the Gang Leader of the Sanhe Gang, let out a soft sigh. He picked up the long saber at his side and strode out the door.
“To arms!”
“SHUFFLE SHUFFLE SHUFFLE…”
The sound of hurried footsteps echoed as hundreds of elite gang members swarmed in from all directions. Countless torches were lit, illuminating the massive plaza as if it were day.
“WHOOSH…”
The fierce wind billowed, kicking up dust that stung the eyes.
A figure as large as a house appeared silently in the distance, staring at Li Xianshan from across the empty space.
“Hai Cang!”
Li Xianshan’s eyes narrowed, but he showed no surprise at the visitor’s appearance.
“Your Hai Family has also betrayed the East Sea Dragon Race?”
Demons affiliated with the East Sea Dragon Race were forbidden from invading the Divine Land Continent. This was an ironclad rule established many years ago.
Unless…
They had forsaken the Dragon Race.
“Li Xianshan.”
The Great Demon strode forward, each step making the earth tremble.
“When you killed my son, Hai Yunzou, you should have known this day would come.”
“I didn’t want to kill him,” Li Xianshan sighed softly.
“He had a lust for beautiful women, so I found them and sent them to his bed. He loved fine wine, so I spent a fortune to purchase it from thousands of miles away. But he insisted on protecting the Demons who slaughtered the Human Race. I had no other choice.”
“Nonsense!” the Great Demon roared.
“My son would never be so reckless! You begged my Hai Family for help to achieve your goals, yet you turned around and killed my beloved son and slaughtered my Demon Race. A treacherous fiend like you is an offense to heaven and earth!”
“Die!”
“CLANG! CLANG! CLANG…”
A massive chain, over a hundred feet long, pierced the pitch-black night as it shot toward Li Xianshan.
“CLANG…”
Sparks flew.
The seemingly unremarkable saber, with just a light flick, sent the ten-thousand-jin chain flying high into the air.
“Fifth Grade!”
The Great Demon’s voice grew heavy.
“The Human Race is cunning, and you are the worst of them. But so what if you’ve reached the Fifth Grade?”
“Today, not only will you die, but this entire city will fall!”
“Kill them!”
The Great Demon waved its massive hand, and countless Demons swarmed out of the darkness. Most of these Demons had only just gained sentience, their strength little more than that of a common beast, but their numbers were overwhelming.
In an instant, the entire Sanhe Gang headquarters descended into chaos.
…
Nie Family.
Wang Dian, a True Disciple from the Wenda Sect, suddenly frowned. With a flick of his large hand, a Sky-Piercing Halberd appeared in his palm.
He brandished the Sky-Piercing Halberd and swung it lightly upwards. An invisible Giant Power shot toward the roof of the reception hall.
“BOOM!”
Tiles flew and splinters shot everywhere, sending the people inside into a panic.
“Senior Brother.”
A man and a woman stood up straight, their faces grave as they looked up at the pitch-black night sky.
“Demon Qi!”
“There’s so much of it…”
Wang Dian nodded slowly, his expression grim.
He was born with double pupils and had cultivated some kind of Pupil Technique, allowing him to see with perfect clarity even from a great distance.
In his line of sight, a Demon large enough to blot out the sky hovered in the heavens, shamelessly unleashing its Demon Qi.
The Demon was so immense it was comparable to the size of a city.
“Third Grade!”
Wang Dian clenched his jaw, his eyes trembling. His body shivered uncontrollably under the oppressive pressure of the Third-Grade Demon King’s Demon Qi.
‘How can this be?’
‘The battle on the front lines is still raging. How could a Third-Grade Demon King have broken through the defenses and come here?’
But just a moment later, his expression relaxed.
A streak of light shot across the void and collided with the Third-Grade Demon King. Then, one chasing the other, they flew off into the distance.
Evidently, a powerful expert from the Human Race had made a move.
‘That makes sense.’
‘If Third-Grade Demon Kings could appear in human territory so easily, the Human Race would have been wiped out long ago.’
Only then did Wang Dian notice the other Demons in the sky.
Countless flying Demons, so dense they formed a dark cloud, swooped toward Taiyuan Prefecture, clutching large nets.
As they neared the ground, they released their claws. The nets fell, and hordes of Demons burst out from within them.
The nets were filled with Demons!
“The Demons are attacking!”
“Move out!”
Wang Dian let out a low roar. His body shot out like a cannonball, soaring a hundred meters into the air. His Sky-Piercing Halberd left trails of afterimages as its Spiritual Light wove a tapestry of a battlefield in the sky. Wherever he passed, Demons shrieked and fell to the ground.
A Fifth-Grade Martial Artist Condenses Gang and Evil into the Body, causing their Qi Blood to undergo a qualitative change, allowing them to walk on air.
Moreover, when their Qi Blood is projected outward, it is indestructible and terrifyingly powerful.
“ROAR!”
“Human junior, die!”
A curved deer antler suddenly appeared behind Wang Dian, stabbing viciously toward the center of his back.
“DING…”
There was no sound of a blade piercing flesh. Instead, it was like the clash of metal on metal. Wang Dian only swayed slightly, while the ambushing Demon was forced back several steps.
“Be careful!”
A flat-beaked crow appeared nearby, its voice sharp.
“That’s the Wenda Sect’s Black Tortoise Dharma Body. Once mastered, the Physical Body becomes comparable to a top-tier Qi Blood Divine Weapon.”
“This junior is probably only in his forties. The Talent of the Human Race is truly enviable.”
“Fifth-Grade Great Demons?” Wang Dian turned slowly, a cold sneer on his face as he looked at the deer and the crow.
“To reach the Fifth Grade with your common beast bodies, it must have taken you two a thousand years. After living for so long, why seek your own death?”
“CAW! CAW!” the crow screeched strangely.
“Junior, don’t look down on Demons! It has only been six hundred and thirty-nine years since my Awakening.”
“Demons…” Wang Dian’s eyes filled with killing intent.
“If a Great Saint of the Demon Race hadn’t transformed into the Celestial Dao and used the Emperor’s Liquid to enlighten all creatures, your kind would have been slaughtered to extinction long ago.”
“Heh heh…” the crow cackled shrilly.
“We are blessed by the Great Saint. Sooner or later, we will exterminate the Human Race.”
“Attack!”
Knowing he was a disciple of the Wenda Sect, the two Fifth-Grade Great Demons didn’t dare hold back. They each unleashed their Divine Techniques and charged forward.
A savage grin spread across Wang Dian’s face. His Sky-Piercing Halberd carved an arc through the air as he cut in between the two Great Demons.

Demon-wrought chaos has existed since ancient times.
Taiyuan Prefecture had experienced it before, but those were mostly minor skirmishes, never escalating to the point of threatening the entire city’s destruction.
The last crisis of this magnitude had been over a hundred years ago.
For the Human Race, a hundred years was several generations. The memories had long since faded.
Thus, no one had expected the Demons to appear so suddenly, descending from the sky and rendering the city’s defenses almost useless.
Chaos erupted everywhere.
The Nie Mansion’s guards had already assembled into a Battle Array, quickly slaughtering the Demons that fell from the sky.
In a side courtyard.
On Zhang Fang’s bed lay several disheveled women. Some were young, innocent girls, while others were voluptuous, mature women. Their ages varied so greatly that they could have been mistaken for mothers and daughters.
And it seemed Zhang Fang had a particular taste for this sort of game.
Not only did he enjoy it, but his methods were exceedingly cruel. He would directly devour the Primordial Energy from the women’s bodies. Afterward, a light case would result in a shortened lifespan; a severe case meant a miserable death on the spot.
‘A young girl’s Primordial Yin and a mature woman’s lust are the greatest treasures. My senior and junior brothers truly don’t understand a thing.’
Throwing on a robe, Zhang Fang glanced at the women on the bed, a flicker of greed in his eyes.
‘Damn these Demons. They really picked a bad time to show up.’
“BANG!”
He pushed open the door, just as he was about to go join his fellow disciples, when a figure suddenly appeared before him.
The figure’s face was shrouded in shadow, making it impossible to see clearly. They raised a hand and struck out at him.
“You’re courting death!”
Zhang Fang snorted coldly. He raised one hand, curling his five fingers to meet the attack. His condensed Qi Blood sizzled audibly.
Seven Evil Claw!
This was a top-tier Claw Skill of the Wenda Sect. It could condense Evil Qi into one’s Qi Blood. After the Sixth Grade, its power was further enhanced by condensing Gang Sha.
His claw strike, while seemingly ordinary, could effortlessly tear through Hundred-Forged Refined Steel.
The attacker showed no sign of Qi Blood, their movements relying solely on the power of their physical body. There was no way they could block this strike.
“CRACK!”
Zhang Fang froze.
He felt as if he had slammed into a great mountain. An infinite power, like a collapsing peak, crushed down on him.
His five fingers shattered instantly. Shards of bone from his arm pierced through his skin and flesh. The searing pain arrived a split second later.
“Ah—”
The bloodcurdling scream was cut short.
‘Qi Blood?’
The figure stood in the doorway, looked at the corpse on the ground, and shook their head softly.
‘Although I practice Qi Blood Martial Arts, the foundation of my Martial Arts—my greatest strength—is ultimately my Physical Body.’
