Chapter 970: Chapter 616: Ancient True Goddess Nvwa (4K)

With just a sweep of his gaze across what lay before him, his expression suddenly shifted; in the depths of the firmament, the natural scene of the Beast Herd chasing stag across heaven and earth abruptly began to change.

A First Layer of soul-shocking, heart-stirring power surfaced far off above the sky, like boundless blood-colored waves rolling in to sweep all before them; countless beasts suddenly scented a dangerous aura, and in an instant were seized with terror, bolting in chaos everywhere.

Zhang Jian frowned.

His Divine Gaze opened, looking toward the depths of the heavens.

In a single instant he beheld an utterly terrifying sight: two fearsome Giant Gods came from the depths of the firmament, contending at the extremity of the sky; one mass was red, the other blue.

Red and blue radiance clashed; immeasurable Innate True Water and Innate Divine Flame surged and battered between them, a rampaging force diffusing outward, breeding endless destructive Great Power that swept out from the depths of the sky. That vast force shook heaven and overturned earth, in no way weaker than the Ming Huang Demon Venerable and Xuanyuan Saint Emperor that Zhang Jian had seen within the River of Time.

As that Great Power swept past, Zhang Jian felt his whole body turn icy cold for an instant, then blazing hot the next.

With but a single glance one would be annihilated by that conceptual water and fire, burned to ash or suffocated in Ice Seal.

"Escape!"

The first thought that flashed through Zhang Jian’s mind was this; his figure transformed into a streak of violet-yellow Divine Light, in an instant fleeing beneath the earth, borrowing the Authority of the Earth to race swiftly toward the outer regions.

At this moment Zhang Jian vaguely understood where he had come.

Those two Giant Gods locked in water-and-fire struggle must be the water and fire Ancestral Gods of the Ancient Demon God Race—Gonggong and Zhurong.

Zhang Jian’s mouth twitched slightly.

His luck was altogether too "good."

He had just descended, only to arrive at such a juncture.

Yet even as he was fleeing, Zhang Jian distinctly felt that deep within the earth there was a vast, grand power of authority filling everything.

This was another piece of bad news.

Some other god or demon had already monopolistically taken control of the Authority of the Earth.

He had used the earth as his root to form the Earth Emperor Dao Fruit; if he were to set it into the Sea of Chaos Origin, would he face the other party’s sniping?

This thought surfaced, then quickly vanished.

For Zhang Jian no longer had the leisure to think so much.

He saw the crust of the earth suddenly quake, and after violent trembling came utter devastation; billions of miles of mountains and rivers were in an instant rapidly vaporized by those two interwoven torrents of water and fire.

Zhang Jian felt the two dreadful forces at his back, and his features trembled as well.

In that instant he felt that the Path of Heaven and Earth Laws of Water Element and Fire Element throughout the entire cosmos had become active, warring at full strength.

All living beings within were completely cast into the collision of water and fire, in a blink turned to charcoal, or to blocks of ice, or else in the back-and-forth of ice and fire, utterly withered, returning to extinction.

This kind of collision-force, even some Demon Gods and deities with shallower Dao Practice could not withstand.

Zhang Jian fled across trillions upon trillions of miles of void in a single breath, and the ravaging power of water and fire behind him gradually weakened.

But the calamity had only just begun.

Standing upon the earth, Zhang Jian cast his gaze toward the distant void; there he saw layers upon layers of heavenly radiance thick and splendid, and below it a colossal Divine Mountain that linked heaven and earth.

That was Zhou Mountain!

In Zhang Jian’s sight, as the blazing sun of the firmament flared, an ice-blue Giant God whose form seemed to stand shoulder to shoulder with sun and moon was suddenly struck down from the heavens.

Boundless oceans accompanied his fall, turning into torrents that covered the Endless Land, submerging the paths of the earth.

"Zhurong, you have humiliated me too grievously—this day, this God will perish together with you!"

At this moment, along with the roar of rage, within those boundless seas a mass of blue light abruptly gathered, rushing toward Zhou Mountain.

"Gonggong, stop!"

"You’re mad!"

High above the firmament, as the blue-light Giant moved, several furious shouts rang out in succession.

Yet the blue light swelled, and in an instant slammed into the vast Heaven-Supporting Divine Mountain.

Boom!

With a heaven-shaking, earth-shattering detonation.

Even Zhang Jian, billions upon billions of miles away, heard that terrifying roar; within it, it was as though every component of heaven and earth was crying out with the sound of shattering under unbearable strain.

Such a sound was cruel, yet suffused with an endless, boundless Great Divine Might.

By his ears Zhang Jian even heard the shattering of countless networks of Heaven and Earth Ancestral Qi, the breaking of Ancestor Qi Wheels.

For the Wilderness World, Zhou Mountain was of utmost importance—it was the Celestial Pillar.

Now, as the Celestial Pillar collided with that enormous water-element Giant, it suddenly teetered, then the mountain body cracked, collapsing step by step.

The immense Heaven-Supporting Divine Pillar broke into innumerable fragments and fell from the sky.

Rumble!!

That colossal Heaven-Supporting Divine Pillar collapsing and falling would have been disaster enough.

But in the firmament a gigantic hole suddenly appeared; that hole still continued to tear open, and in an instant a terrifying flood poured down from it.

An extinction-level calamity was born thereby.

That dreadful flood was naturally not unfamiliar to Zhang Jian—indeed, he knew it all too well.

It was the Nine Heavens Weak Water nurtured by the Central Celestial Realm.

Among All Heavens and Myriads of Worlds, there are two "garbage rivers" famed between heaven and earth.

One is the River of the Nine Netherworld and Yellow Springs, which gathers all the darkest, most negative forces between heaven and earth; it is also the place where the earth digests the toxins of all beings.

The other is the Nine Heavens Weak Water River.

The Weak Water River contains a more peculiar Weak Water Poison: it is a Star River that draws in the negative powers of the Stars of the Celestial Sphere and of the Celestial Realm dimensions. Even Immortal Gods, upon contact, are doomed to certain death.

Only a very few unique Immortal Gods can possess a physique that fears neither Weak Water nor Yellow Springs.

Rumble!!

The heaven-shaking, earth-sundering torrents descended from the sky; as the hole expanded, they finally poured down like a waterfall, crashing upon the earth, in an instant diffusing across billions of miles.

This layer of power even permeated the long River of Space-Time; many Immortal Gods had just taken flight when they were dragged by that silver-white force, plunged into the Nine Heavens Weak Water and turned to dried bones.
