Chapter 1003 - 432: Golden Droplet (Part 2)
And the Mountain Ancestor’s own true form took the opportunity to attack the two.
Inside the entire Buzhou Mountain, it was as if an earthquake was occurring, constantly emitting rumbling sounds.
The Saint Ancestor exuded a massive amount of golden light, spreading out millions of Divine Texts, forming a gigantic shield that protected him and the Sea Ancestor within.
Its range nearly exceeded a radius of ten zhang.
The Sea Ancestor was drenched in sweat; despite her mastery of the rules of Water and Moon, she had been forced to the point of perspiring heavily.
Behind the Sea Ancestor, at some unknown moment, a huge full moon appeared.
The full moon emitted a cold, silent radiance, where every ray of light contained endless Power of Rules.
The moonlight shone down, illuminating the space within the range of the Saint Ancestor’s shield.
The cold moonlight rippled gently like water waves, trying to penetrate the shield and spread to a further distance.
However, no matter how the light radiated, it could not break through and illuminate further away.
Further away, there was only deep darkness, accompanied by countless howls and strange rustling sounds.
Now, facing this endless horde that seemed utterly immortal, the two of them could only employ such wide-ranging attacks.
"Huff, huff."
The Sea Ancestor’s chest heaved, casting a glance at the nearby Saint Ancestor.
The Saint Ancestor was not feeling well either; his figure had become somewhat emaciated, as if consuming his own strength.
"You’ve held on long enough, let me take over the defense now!" the Sea Ancestor suggested.
The Saint Ancestor shook his head, showing a hint of levity for the first time, "Who says the old can’t endure?"
After he finished speaking, his previously withered body became fuller again, leaving the Sea Ancestor stunned.
"What is this?"
She was astounded.
The two had been trapped within the shadow of Buzhou Mountain by the Mountain Ancestor for quite some time now, facing various strange and continuous attacks.
The internal space of this Buzhou Mountain shadow was continuously shrinking, compressing the area where they could move.
At the same time, it quietly devoured their strength, and a sealing force pressed toward them constantly.
Furthermore, layers of special gravity continuously pressed upon them. As the space grew smaller, the gravity increased.
Although both were Near Immortals, they found it increasingly difficult to cope.
This shadow of Buzhou Mountain not only pressed over them physically but also transformed into an indelible pressure over their minds and consciousness, making them feel overwhelmingly heavy in body, mind, and intention all around!
They couldn’t tell whether it was an illusion or a capability of the Buzhou Mountain shadow.
However, now, the Mountain Ancestor, who had been resisting for a long time, had somehow regained much of his power, surprising the Sea Ancestor.
The Saint Ancestor explained, "Unfortunately, you didn’t use a doppelganger technique to leave a doppelgänger outside. Otherwise, if you had one outside, you could tap into Ning’s power and draw strength to the main body."
"Hmm?" The Sea Ancestor furrowed her icy blue eyebrows and said, "Didn’t you say before that you couldn’t contact your doppelgänger?"
The Saint Ancestor laughed freely, saying, "That was earlier when my doppelgänger was in the Vast Realm, but after it was merged by Ning, for some reason, I can contact it again."
He mused for a moment, seemingly exploring the principle, and explained, "Perhaps it has something to do with that tree in Ning’s True Martial Spirit Realm. Didn’t you mention that a similar tree exists in the Mountain and Sea Realm, and Ning got it?"
The Sea Ancestor seemed to understand.
"Are you saying that the tree enabled you to reconnect with your doppelgänger?"
"It should be like that since, from what you said, it seems the tree originally belonged to the Mountain Ancestor and is perhaps related to Buzhou Mountain. Now that it’s been planted into the True Martial Spirit Realm by Ning, integrated almost as one, I can contact my doppelgänger."
The Sea Ancestor nodded, "Then how is it you regained so much strength?"
At this point, the Saint Ancestor laughed.
"You haven’t seen Ning’s True Martial Spirit Realm; it’s simply spectacular. As a former leader of the Vast Realm, I’d say my Vast Realm is nothing compared to it!"
The Saint Ancestor continued to deploy more power to resist the enemies outside the shield while talking to the Sea Ancestor.
"Is the True Martial Spirit Realm really so formidable?"
"It has merged with the Three Realms and is still in transformation. Even my doppelgänger, merely within it, can draw terrifying energy."
The Sea Ancestor immediately understood the Saint Ancestor’s transformation. Her expression moved, and she suddenly approached the Saint Ancestor.
"Can you share some of that power with me?"
"Huh?" The Saint Ancestor was startled, "I’m still holding off the army’s attack. Are you trying to cut the grass from under my feet?"
The Sea Ancestor replied, "After fighting together for so long, our coordination has improved. We might as well perform a powerful Divine Techniques together, which could prove very effective."
The Saint Ancestor, moved by the suggestion, thought for a moment before agreeing, "Alright, as you say. But, wait a bit longer for me to gather more power."
"Deal!"
Inside the virtual space of Buzhou Mountain.
The scar-faced Mountain Ancestor was no longer personally fighting. Instead, he used his power to summon the army.
Seeing the shrinking defense circle of the Saint Ancestor and Sea Ancestor and its dimming light, a sense of satisfaction appeared on his face.
"What a pity. If only the Jianmu branch hadn’t been taken by Ning Qi earlier. If we had it, their defenses would mean nothing and could be pierced instantly!"
After all, it’s the Seed of Jianmu, born from absorbing World Power, capable of counteracting worlds, and traversing the world’s barriers at will, let alone these defenses?
Yet, no matter how the Mountain Ancestor regretted, it was useless. His earlier choice wasn’t wrong. The only error was due to Ning Qi’s emergence.
"No, I can’t delay any longer. It’s unfavorable to me in this battle, and the overuse of Buzhou Mountain’s residual power might also assimilate me..."
He subtly glanced at the identical figure on Buzhou Mountain’s peak.
"Since summoning the Buzhou Mountain shadow, that guy has become increasingly terrifying..."
The Mountain Ancestor frowned.
For some reason, as he gazed at the twin image, an increasingly distinct color of estrangement appeared in his eyes.
...
Ning Qi silently appeared in the Sea of Realms.
He seemed assimilated with the energy within the Sea of Realms, making him undetectable and imperceptible.
The entire True Martial Spirit Realm was hidden within the Sea of Realms because the Seed of Jianmu’s concealment powers blocked all external perception.
Ning Qi gazed in the direction of the Buzhou Mountain shadow.
His eyes constantly assessed both the upper and lower sides.
"Should I confront the Mountain Ancestor above first or enter the base of Buzhou Mountain to save the Saint Ancestor and Sea Ancestor?"
Ning Qi pondered.
"If I recall correctly, the scarred Mountain Ancestor I fought earlier is down at the base suppressing the two Ancestors."
"So, if I go down, I can join forces with the two Ancestors. But equally, I’d be entering Buzhou Mountain’s depths, possibly facing significant suppression!"
His eyes moved back to the upper side.
"Yet, even if I choose to fight the Mountain Ancestor above, I’d still enter the shadow of Buzhou Mountain, so battling them means entering the shadow regardless."
Ning Qi shook his head, murmuring, "I really don’t want to enter it; something feels ominous about this mountain, but there’s no choice—let’s stick to the old routine."
His form transformed into strands of grey World Power from the Sea of Realms, silently flowing with the grey mist towards the Buzhou Mountain shadow.
Fortunately, Ning Qi had long stolen the Sea of Realms’ power; directly mobilizing the World Power within, he was also acknowledged by the Sea of Realms, considered part of it.
Otherwise, if Ning Qi had left the Sea of Realms for the first time, it might have made him wish for death.
Soon, the grey mist form of Ning Qi quietly touched the Buzhou Mountain shadow.
"Huh, this mountain barrier seems to block the inflow of energy from the Sea of Realms?"
