Cultivating in Different Professions
Chapter 367 - 221: As You Wish
Chapter 367: Chapter 221: As You Wish
Bao Lingyun licked his lips, a bloodthirsty smile spreading across his face.
His figure suddenly vanished, and in the next instant, he appeared before another Martial Artist.
"Don’t panic! Don’t let him pick us off one by one!"
Qianyun Mountain roared, charging forward fearlessly with his saber raised.
CLANG!
Two sharp cracks rang out almost simultaneously, sounding like a single strike.
One was the sound of Bao Lingyun’s great saber severing a steel spear.
The other was the sound of the saber in Qianyun Mountain’s hands striking Bao Lingyun’s back.
The long spear snapped. A thin red line appeared on the spear-wielding Martial Artist’s forehead, rapidly spreading downward.
Then his body split in two, toppling to either side.
Bao Lingyun turned, looking at Qianyun Mountain with a savage grin.
On his bare back, there was only a single white mark.
A full-force strike from Qianyun Mountain, a True Essence Realm Martial Artist, had only left a white mark on Bao Lingyun’s back. It hadn’t even broken the skin!
And this was before Bao Lingyun had even revealed his true demon form.
A defense like this was beyond astonishing.
Normally, even a Tier Three Demon struck by Qianyun Mountain’s saber would be wounded, if not killed outright.
What kind of freakish physique was this?
Bao Lingyun’s true demon form was supposed to be a Leopard Demon, and Leopard Demons weren’t known for their defense.
"It’s Quenching Body!"
A glint flashed in the eyes of Shi Ziran, who was standing beside Su Mu, as he spoke.
Although it wasn’t appropriate for him to act now, he had still followed along.
The title of "Green-eyed Golden Eagle" was not an empty one. Shi Ziran’s Physical Divine Technique was centered in his eyes, allowing him to perceive things others could not.
"His skin and flesh have both been quenched to their limits. His tendons and bones aren’t quite there, but they’re not far off."
Shi Ziran said, somewhat horrified.
A demon’s physique was naturally strong. Even without reaching the limit for quenching tendons and bones, it was easily comparable to a human Martial Artist at the Body Tempering Limit.
Shi Ziran glanced at his lord. This Thirteenth Prince of the Demon Court was definitely a formidable opponent for him.
Other than his lord, this Thirteenth Prince of the Demon Court had the most solid Quenching Body foundation he had ever seen.
Xu Chongyuan and the others all wore expressions of disbelief.
A demon, actually walking the most orthodox path of a human Martial Artist.
Quenching Body, saber techniques, realms...
’Is this a demon, or a Martial Artist?’
Demons and human Martial Artists, though both possessed incredible power, were fundamentally different.
"Fiends" were somewhat similar to human Martial Artists, as they also followed a path of cultivation.
But "demons" were completely different.
Demons had no concept of Quenching Body or blood replacement. From the very beginning, they drew demonic energy into their bodies and evolved.
That’s right—a demon’s increase in strength was more akin to evolution.
For a demon to now be walking the human path of cultivation was even more shocking than the Demon Court’s demons learning to speak and act like humans.
The Taiping Captains exchanged glances, feeling a sense of shame amidst their shock.
A demon had mastered a realm to the Perfection Realm, surpassing the vast majority of them.
How could they not feel utterly humiliated?
BOOM!
Qianyun Mountain held his saber horizontally, barely blocking one of Bao Lingyun’s strikes. He was sent flying high into the air before crashing heavily to the ground, blood streaming from his seven orifices.
If the remaining Martial Artists hadn’t rushed forward to intercept Bao Lingyun, he would have undoubtedly killed Qianyun Mountain with another blow.
"Lord Su, what do you think of my Prince’s Martial Dao?"
The demon said with a gloating smile, "You human True Essence Realm Martial Artists are far too weak. You can’t even take a single strike from my Prince."
"The saber technique is decent, but the saber itself is better."
Su Mu said calmly, as if he hadn’t seen the human Martial Artists being slaughtered in the arena.
"The saber is better?"
The demon’s face lit up. With its limited understanding of human speech, it didn’t catch Su Mu’s sarcasm and thought he was praising their Thirteenth Prince.
"Of course! I don’t mind telling you, this Mountain-Cutting Saber was personally forged for the Thirteenth Prince by our Seventh Prince.
Our Seventh Prince is a true Weapon Master. According to him, this Mountain-Cutting Saber is one of his proudest creations. While it’s not a Profound Weapon, it’s not far from it."
Xu Chongyuan and the others were shocked once again. ’The Demon Court even has Weapon Masters?’
"Don’t clash with his weapon head-on! It’s forged from Shouyang Copper—it’s incomparably sharp!"
In the Martial Arts Arena, Huo Zhen Court, the True Disciple from the Divine Weapon Pavilion, shouted the warning.
A cold sneer appeared on Bao Lingyun’s face.
His saber techniques were ever-changing. Despite the opposing human Martial Artist’s desperate attempts to dodge, his head was finally sliced off with a single strike.
In a short time, half of the human Martial Artists had fallen.
The five remaining Martial Artists stood back-to-back, circling continuously as they worked together to fend off Bao Lingyun.
But Bao Lingyun’s strength was immense, and his movements were like a phantom’s.
The five of them only managed to block a few moves before Bao Lingyun found an opening, and another human Martial Artist fell.
Xu Chongyuan and the others were filled with rage, clenching their fists, wishing they could charge into the arena themselves.
The few demons guarding the perimeter each took a step forward, preventing Xu Chongyuan’s group from interfering.
It wasn’t that they feared the group would pose a threat to the Thirteenth Prince if they joined the fight.
Rather, if they were to spoil the Thirteenth Prince’s enjoyment of the duel, the consequences would be severe.
"So that’s how it is."
Suddenly, Su Mu murmured softly.
Perfection in the Li Fire Realm, major accomplishment in the Gen Mountain Realm, and minor accomplishment in the Xun Wind Realm.
The Demon Court’s Thirteenth Prince, Bao Lingyun, had actually mastered three different realms.
Impressive.
Su Mu praised him silently in his heart.
He knew how difficult it was to comprehend a realm.
Within the Taiping Bureau, anyone who could comprehend two realms was already among the elite of the Taiping Captains.
To comprehend three realms made one an undisputed prodigy.
And that was just for comprehending them. Among the Taiping Captains, those who could cultivate one of their realms to Perfection were few and far between.
Even Su Mu himself had currently only mastered five realms.
And Su Mu had only mastered one realm to the Perfection Realm.
Truth be told, besides Su Mu, there was likely no one in Da Xuan at the same level who could compare to this Bao Lingyun.
For a demon to have cultivated the Martial Dao to such an extent, it could only be described as a freak of nature.
The reason he hadn’t become a Tier Three Demon was likely because he was pursuing Perfection in the Rebirth Realm, seeking to completely shed his mortal coil, take human form, and perhaps even awaken a Physical Divine Technique.
If he succeeded, he might truly forge a new path for the Demon Court.
’It’s a pity you chose to provoke me,’ Su Mu thought calmly.
He took another step forward, resting his hand on the railing of the viewing stand.
"Su—"
The demon Bao Lingyun had sent began to speak.
Suddenly, Su Mu turned and gave it a single, expressionless look.
The demon looked as if it had been struck by lightning. It staggered back several steps, its face pale, unable to utter a single word.
’It’s horrified. Just one look, and I feel like a catastrophe is upon me, like I could die at any moment.’
’I’ve only ever felt this from our Thirteenth Prince.’
’How is this possible?’
’Could this Su Mu be as strong as the Thirteenth Prince?’
"Bao Lingyun, that’s enough."
Su Mu spoke, his voice not particularly loud, yet every human and demon in the arena heard him clearly.
At this point, only three of the ten human Martial Artists in the arena remained.
All three were True Essence Realm Martial Artists. They were struggling to hold on when they suddenly heard a human voice.
They instinctively looked toward the source of the sound.
A look of astonishment crossed Qianyun Mountain’s face, and his movements faltered for a moment.
"You say it’s enough? This Prince says it’s not!"
Bao Lingyun sneered savagely.
With a SWISH, he swung his great saber, bringing it down on the stunned Qianyun Mountain’s head.
By the time Qianyun Mountain snapped out of it, the blade was only a foot from his head. It was too late to dodge.
Qianyun Mountain smiled bitterly in his heart. ’So be it. To die here... at least I, Qianyun Mountain, will not have disgraced the name of the Border Defense Army.’
CLANG!
A flash of white light shot through the air at an incredible speed, striking the flat of the great saber with perfect accuracy.
The saber’s edge scraped past Qianyun Mountain’s scalp before being deflected, slamming heavily into the ground.
Qianyun Mountain stared blankly as, on the viewing stand, a pair of wings unfurled from Su Mu’s back. He rose into the air and then slowly descended to land beside him.
"Bao Lingyun, weren’t you trying to force me to spar with you?"
Su Mu reached out, took hold of the long saber embedded in the ground, and spoke slowly.
It was he who had just thrown the Thunder Shocking Saber to save Qianyun Mountain.
"Today, I will grant you your wish."
