Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough
Chapter 2244: Back in the Northern Central Region
Following the relief everyone felt having successfully escaped from the ancient formation alive, it didn’t take long before everyone began splitting off to leave on their own. Nobody wanting to stay anywhere near the ancient formation when it completely collapsed, some of the weaker cultivators even taking the opportunity to follow some of the stronger cultivators they had befriended to make their journey out of the Yellow Peak Region safer.
At the very least, with everyone having managed to establish a basis of trust thanks to the time they had ended up spending together, it wasn’t too hard for these weaker cultivators to tag along with the stronger ones who planned on leaving the Yellow Peak Region.
Only those who had somewhere to return to within the Yellow Peak Region decided against leaving the place immediately and instead decided to first head back home to get their friends and still living relatives before leaving. After all, every single one of them understood just what it meant for the ancient formation to break.
Knowing from history, just how deadly the Yellow Peak Region had become when the ancient formation had first been uncovered for the locals as both powerful figures from the Western Central Region Temples came swarming to the area alongside powerful figures from the Sothern Central Region.
Before those powerful figures began showing up, it would be best for them to get as far away from the Yellow Peak Region as possible if they wanted to stay alive when those powerful figures began clashing with each other over what the ancient formation had been guarding.
Not one of them dared to dream about seizing this opportunity for themselves. Understanding that with their strength, there was no way for them to compete for this kind of opportunity.
Qing Yi and Chun Hua weren’t much different from the rest, as they also decided to leave the Yellow Peak Region before chaos descended upon the entire region.
Deciding in the process of leaving to take the little monk along with them. Planning to get him settled into the sect when they returned.
Not just because he had been helpful to the two of them in the past, but also because the little one didn’t have anywhere to go with the small temple, he belonged to, having been destroyed in the chaos brought about by the internal power struggle between the local hegemon of the Yellow Peak Region and an outside force.
Outside of that, the little monk also had decent talent for cultivation and was more than worthy of becoming a disciple of the Star Shattering Sect from what they had seen from him so far.
And the simple fact that neither of them wanted to simply leave him behind in the Yellow Peak Region. Especially after listening to the few locals who had already set off to leave the region describe just how chaotic and deadly the place was going to get when news of the ancient formation’s collapse began to spread.
So, with the little monk in tow, Qing Yi and Chun Hua followed the fastest and safest path they had learnt about from the other cultivators trapped within the ancient formation. Neither of them wasted any time as they both flew as fast as they could to get out of the Yellow Peak Region just that little bit faster than everyone else. Aware that a battle between the powerful figures from the Western Central Region and the Southern Central Region could potentially erase the entire Yellow Peak Region in a single clash.
Luckily for the three of them, the collapse of the ancient formation wasn’t visible from the outside, as people could still accidentally wander into it.
Although, different from being trapped in an endless never-ending space that one could wander for hundreds of years without making any progress, those unfortunate people that accidentally stepped into the collapsing formation would find themselves getting swallowed up by a spatial anomaly the second they stepped inside. Dying on the spot.
The few lucky ones who didn’t die immediately would find themselves in a collapsing independent space with only a short time left before they too got swallowed alive by the collapsing space.
Only those at the Domain Lord Realm might be able to seize the opportunity and escape back the way they had entered, while those below without any flying artifacts would only be able to helplessly watch death approaching them with no way out.
As for those who successfully escaped spreading the news of the ancient formation collapsing... Qing Yi and Chun Hua didn’t worry about this in the slightest, as those Domain Lord Realm or above cultivators who realized what was happening wouldn’t waste any time trying to escape from the Yellow Peak Region.
Like the few Domain Lord Realm cultivators they had escaped from the ancient formation with, these locals would also understand the danger that was about to descend upon the region and wouldn’t waste any time trying to get out as fast as possible. The most they would do would be to make a trip back home to grab their relatives and friends to try and make sure they got out before the region was devastated by the upcoming clash of powerful figures.
Of course, with news already spreading through the region thanks to the different cultivators Qing Yi and Chun Hua had escaped alongside informing their friends and families, it would only be a matter of time before the information about the ancient formation’s collapse reached those major powers keeping an eye on the region.
Still, Qing Yi and Chun Hua were confident they would be able to get out of the Yellow Peak Region before the place descended into an even more chaotic state than it already was. Not to mention, with the region already being in a state of chaos, those major powers wouldn’t immediately trust the information and might even think it was a ploy by one of the two sides fighting to scare the other side into escaping.
Unsurprisingly, when the two sides fighting with one another first learnt about the collapse of the ancient formation, this was indeed what they thought was going on. Until they suddenly realized that a large number of small factions had started to escape from the Yellow Peak Region without any regard for the foundation, they ended up leaving behind in the process and the loss something like that would have to their future development.
At first, they believed it might just be a few who were scared off by the increasing intensity of the battle and they ignored it as the bandit cultivators rejoiced at the free cultivation resources and other things that had been left behind, some of these bandits even turning former cultivation grounds of smaller powers into bandit strongholds using the left behind formations that had gone inactive after the most precious resources keeping them running had been pulled out in a hurry by the escaping faction.
Only when the number of small factions escaping the region surpassed two hundred did everyone else start to realize something was wrong. The two currently struggling for control over the Yellow Peak Region even came to a momentary halt to investigate what was happening.
And before long, they confirmed that the news about the ancient formation collapsing was true, something that caused both sides to panic, with the attacking party immediately pulling out of the Yellow Peak Region, while the original hegemon of the region wasted no time digging up its own foundation to make a run for it.
But... By this time, it was already too late for those different powers still left behind in the Yellow Peak Region to escape without any issues, as news of the situation in the Yellow Peak Region had already spread beyond the borders of the region and reached the different major powers bordering the Western Central Region alongside the major powers from the Western Central Region itself.
However, to Qing Yi and Chun Hua, none of this mattered, as the two of them, alongside the little monk, had already managed to pass through the few dangerous regions along the path to the Northern Central Region and had officially crossed over the border and stepped foot back into the Northern Central Region- or more specifically, they had stepped inside the borders of one of the major powers from the Northern Central Region that bordered the Western Central Region.
Troublesome as this might have been under normal circumstances given how the border guards wouldn’t carelessly allow someone at the Domain Lord Realm or above to enter their borders, the issue was easily solved when the two of them informed the border guards that they were disciples from the Star Shattering Sect.
Although the Star Shattering Sect might not be that well known beyond the Northern Central Region, the locals from the Northern Central Region were by now all aware of the existence of the Star Shattering Sect and knew not to carelessly interfere with this formidable ancient hidden sect. Allowing disciples like Qing Yi and Chun Hua to easily get through the border of this major power without any problems.
