Chapter 298: Chapter 199: The Frenzy Stirred Up by the Storm

Lin Chen stared at the endlessly scrolling comment section, a bewildered look in his eyes.

This was a North American stream, and the audience was mostly from Europe and America. The comments were all in English, so why did it feel so much like watching a stream back home in China?

’What a bunch of degenerates!’

’If you guys want to see women in swimsuits, go search for them online. If that’s not enough, go to the beach yourselves. After all, you’re all just trying to slack off and avoid work anyway.’

What were they doing in his stream? If his reputation got ruined because of this, who would be to blame?

Lin Chen refused to believe that all the viewers in his stream were like this. He patiently kept his eyes on the screen, watching the comments that were quickly being upvoted.

[Lin, you’re not helping her on purpose, right?]

[I feel like Erica is interested in you. She ran over in a downpour to roast fish for you, isn’t that obvious enough?]

[Didn’t she say she’s a fan of Lin’s? Did you not watch last night’s stream? Erica was the one who said she wanted to roast fish for him so he could give her some pointers.]

[There’s nothing wrong with being a fan, but it’s a fact that fans will have positive feelings for their idol. That’s undeniable, and anyone who argues is wrong!]

[If you ask me, with a woman that hot, pretty, and rich, you should just snap her up. You’d be set for life.]

[Are you gonna make a move or not? If you don’t, I will.]

[Western women are generally more open and liberal, but walking around in her underwear in front of a stranger she just met is still weird, right? It’s not very polite. It kinda feels like she’s deliberately trying to seduce Lin.]

[I came from Erica’s stream. Let me clear things up for her. She just has that kind of uninhibited personality. She does whatever she thinks of, whatever’s comfortable. She really isn’t overthinking it.]

[I think it’s perfectly normal. She’s on vacation, and they’re at the beach. When you go to the beach, don’t you see a bunch of strange women in bikinis walking around in front of you? What’s so weird about it?]

Lin Chen watched quietly for a while, only snapping back to reality when the screen went dark.

He gave a wry smile. ’Am I just too conservative?’

He’d been in North America for so many years, but he’d spent almost all of it in school or in a kitchen. He’d never once gone traveling.

The closest thing would be his annual winter trip to the Blue Mountain ski resort near Toronto. He’d soak in the hot springs and do a bit of beginner skiing, treating it as a one-day reward for a year of hard work.

He had never really gone on a trip in the summer, let alone to the beach.

He understood what many of the viewers in the comments were saying.

Although he’d never been to a beach, he had been to swimming pools and water parks back in China. Men and women walked around in swimsuits there too, and no one thought anything of it.

The only difference was that women in China mostly wore relatively conservative swimsuits, while abroad, bikinis were the norm, with women openly showing off their figures.

Thinking about this, he really had to admire the confidence of foreigners.

Due to their diet, most North Americans were noticeably heavier, but they would still confidently display their bodies, rolls and all.

If the same situation happened back in China, a girl with even a little bit of belly fat probably wouldn’t dare to wear a swimsuit at all.

If he wanted to buy an estate and build a business here in the future, he would inevitably have to interact with more people.

Plus, he had now made a name for himself in the wilderness survival niche. If he made vlogs or did live streams in the future, they would most likely be in the wild, and the beach would definitely be a regular feature.

’Looks like it’s time to change my way of thinking. I guess I can consider it preparation for the future.’

"I’m done washing up. It’ll probably take ten or twenty minutes to roast, so you can look forward to it, but it’s best not to get your hopes *too* high~"

While he was lost in thought, Erica suddenly walked in from outside, carrying the heavy bamboo basket on her back. She deliberately paused in front of him for a moment, a teasing smile on her face.

She had expected Lin Chen to avert his gaze in a slight panic like before, but instead, he looked straight at her, perfectly calm.

"Did you bring salt?"

"Huh?"

Erica thought her eyes were playing tricks on her.

’The Lin I knew wouldn’t dare to make eye contact with me while I was only in my underwear. He’s supposed to be like a shy boy, all flustered and avoidant.’

She quickly took two steps forward. "What did you say? The rain was too loud, I didn’t hear you."

"I asked if you brought any salt."

Lin Chen continued to look at her calmly, showing no intention of looking away.

Erica froze, rubbing her eyes in disbelief. She then waved a hand in front of his face.

"You are Lin, right? The Lin I know?"

"This isn’t right. How come you dare to look at me now?"

"What’s there not to dare?" Lin Chen scoffed dismissively. "I’m 25. What haven’t I seen? What haven’t I experienced? Did you really think I’d blush just from seeing a woman’s body?"

"No, no, this isn’t right. This is so wrong!"

Erica took a few more steps forward until she was almost pressed against his chest. Her crystal-clear eyes stared straight into his from up close.

"Are you crazy? You’re soaking wet, don’t get so close!"

Lin Chen frowned, pushed her away by the shoulders, and bent down to pick up the bamboo tube from the floor. "Go roast your fish. It won’t taste very good if you didn’t bring any salt."

’Her clothes are soaked,’ he thought. ’Even if she brought salt, she’d have no safe place to put it, so there’s no way she...’

"Of course I brought some."

Erica stuck her fingers into her bra and pulled out a folded banana leaf, which she dangled in front of his eyes.
