Crossing the Timeline: Is It Reasonable for Me, the God of Wealth, To Be Short on Money?
Chapter 594
Su Wen pondered for a moment and agreed with Fighting God.
It’s wise to be cautious with the Remnant side.
Tsk!
Communicating with Fighting God in his fighting stance is quite pleasant.
Perhaps in the future, he could find a way to keep some of Fighting God’s avatars in combat state all the time.
If this keeps up, Fighting God might just become the second Star God.
Though this small goal is a bit ambitious, it’s still worth a shot; who knows, it might just happen?
Then, Su Wen started to carefully go through Fighting God’s plan for facing death.
After reading for a while, he silently closed the plan.
“When did you start preparing this plan?”Su Wen looked at Fighting God and asked with a hint of helplessness.
“Right after that war ended!”
Fighting God replied, “I’ve been preparing for decades; what do you think?”
Su Wen’s lips twitched as he flipped to pages seven and thirteen.
“Take a look. Do these pages seem like they were written by the same person?”
“A plan, especially one for facing death, should be very meticulous, shouldn’t it?”
“I’m not saying you shouldn’t engage in this kind of mental activity, but can you at least be in a brainstorming state while doing it?”
“Like, think about it while you’re fighting?”
Fighting God gave a sheepish smile and said, “Well… when I’m fighting, I’m completely immersed in it. Recently, I got some inspiration from my avatar techniques.”
“That’s how I can fully immerse myself in battle while using my fighting stance to think about other things.”
Worried that Su Wen might not understand, Fighting God added, “Before, I could also ponder during battles.”
“But usually, it’s my true self doing the fighting.”
“And even if my avatar is fighting, while my true self is watching, I still immerse myself completely and analyze every detail changing on the battlefield.”
“You know our current levels of combat power involve grand battle scenes.”
“Even in a battlefield experienced by ordinary beings, the factors change every second, not to mention the charge of our level of combat.”
“If I miss one factor, I might fall into the traps laid by the enemy.”
Su Wen was at a loss for words, so he continued to open the plan and began helping Fighting God revise his plan for facing death.
Starting from the first page, he revisited some illogical parts and even eliminated plans that unconsciously upheld the notion that the Star God was a good person.
This included a series of actions aimed at helping the Star God “clear his name,” such as hunting down the traitor Star God and surrounding him.
It’s easy to guess that the Remnant side would never truly trust the Star God.
Especially after the Leader of the Remnant mysteriously got suppressed by Time and Space, this is probably the primary reason why the Remnants haven’t shown significant movements recently and have begun to suspect the Star God.
Despite the Star God’s seemingly trustworthy demeanor, sometimes it’s the outcome that matters, not the process.
The result? The Remnants suffered heavy losses, and their Leader was suppressed!
For the Divine Fate Universe, this was nothing short of a total victory!
So, it’s clear that the Star God will pull off something big to win back the Remnants’ trust.
And they, in turn, need to play along with the Star God’s plans.
But remember, the river of time once hinted that it could arrange for the Fighting God to fake his death. If the Fighting God keeps his aura hidden, he could retrieve the body of the current Fighting God.
This detail will definitely be part of the plan.
He’s curious to see what would happen if the Fighting God survives while the body of the current Fighting God returns.
Would that be a scenario the will of the cosmos wants to avoid?
Is that why such a strange rule was set in place?
……
Meanwhile, in the Remnant Universe.
“Star God, the high priest wants to see you.”
The Curved Dagger appeared abruptly in the hall where the Star God sat, clad in blood-red robes, high on his throne.
“He wants to see me? Why doesn’t he come himself?”
The Star God opened his eyes, his voice cold.
“Bold!”
The Curved Dagger snapped, “Watch your tone!”
“You’re just a traitor. If it weren’t for the Immortal Clan taking you in, what would you even be?”
He was furious with the Star God.
The last war had left him trapped, and no matter what, the esteemed one had been suppressed by Time and Space.
It was an inevitable outcome.
And the root of the conflict? The Star God he had brought in.
Because of this, he hadn’t received the promised reward from the esteemed one and had drawn the ire of several True Kings. Even the high priest and the Speaker were displeased with him.
That’s why he’d lost any goodwill he once had for the Star God and avoided him unless absolutely necessary.
The Star God’s expression didn’t change. He slowly rose from his throne.
In an instant, he was right in front of the Curved Dagger.
“For the sake of our past friendship, I’ll spare you this time.
“But remember, there won’t be a next time.”
With those words, an overwhelming force crushed down on the Curved Dagger.
“Crack, crack…”
Under the pressure, the True King rule of the Curved Dagger began to tremble and disintegrate, on the verge of shattering.
“Think before you speak in my presence,”
the Star God said, his back turned. “If I wanted you dead, you wouldn’t even see it coming.
“As for the Immortal Clan taking me in?
“That’s a joke.
“With my power, if I wanted to leave, who could stop me?
“In the vast chaos, is there no place for me?”
He glanced toward the entrance and added, “Isn’t that right, High Priest?”
At that moment, an old man, wrinkled and radiating a deathly aura, appeared at the door, clutching a staff.
“Star God, you’re absolutely right,”
the high priest said, his movements stiff and labored.
“With your strength, you don’t need to humor this fool.
“So, you didn’t betray the Divine Fate Universe for the reasons this fool suggested, did you?
“Tell me, why did you betray them?
“What grand plan do you have for the Immortal Clan?
“If your reason convinces me, I might even lend you a hand.
“After all, in this world, more friends mean more paths.”
The Star God turned his gaze to the high priest, studying him for a moment.
“High Priest of the Immortal Clan,”
he said finally, “You’re dying, aren’t you?”
