Creepy Pharmacist: All my patients are scary!
Chapter 882: Hell’s Moral Paragon!
After patting her bottom and making her let out another little burp, Lynn immediately ended her Mimicry and sent her back.
Accompanied by the sound of her laboriously wriggling back into his eye socket,
the little Eye Loli finally turned back into the Cursed Eye and reconnected with him, restoring his vision in his right eye.
It had recovered, at least.
But why did everything look so red and white through his right eye?
Of course,
that wasn’t something Lynn was concerned about.
After successfully dealing with the little Eye Loli, he had expended a great deal of essence, but he had also managed to probe out four of the Cursed Eye’s traits.
1: Eye Loli
3: Normal Cursed Eye
4: A fifty-fifty chance of instant death
6: Full-scale turmoil
Aside from 1 and 3, the other two traits could both cost him a life whenever they were triggered. That put quite a burden on him, since it meant he would have to go to the Matriarch regularly to replenish his buffs.
There really was no other way!
He could only keep going to the Matriarch and make Grandma work a little harder!
Lynn took a deep breath, then tremblingly gripped the armrests and tried to stand. But he had barely gotten halfway up before his whole body plopped right back down.
“Am I really this weak now...?”
Zuo Zuo grabbed him by the collar and snapped furiously,
“Of course you are, you idiot! You’ve lost eighty percent of your blood, and your essence is completely depleted. It’d be a miracle if you could stand! A normal person would’ve been dead already!”
This awful man.
He was completely beyond saving!
“It’s fine, don’t worry. The reason I dared to waste so much sustenance in my body is, of course, that I have plenty in reserve!”
Lynn grinned and waggled his eyebrows, then took several by-products from his previous Cursed Eye repairs out of the System Space.
【Restorative Potion (Chosen)】
【Restorative Potion (Epic)】
【Restorative Potion (Extreme Modification)】
Not only did he have plenty of restorative potions,
but with his stats boosted across the board and his Flesh Calamity, as long as he wasn’t beaten into mincemeat, he could return to full health at any time.
Without the slightest hesitation, he gulped down every last potion.
【Ding! You drank a Restorative Potion (Chosen). Your lost blood is steadily being restored. Congratulations, you have gained an additional 5 Constitution and a 2% increase to your recovery speed!】
【Ding! You drank a Restorative Potion (Extreme Modification). Your lost blood has been restored slightly. Potion production probability: 2%.】
As the System notifications rang in his ears,
it didn’t take long for Lynn’s face to turn rosy. Once the Colossus’s Heart started up, fresh blood poured through every part of his body like a river bursting its banks.
Aside from his kidney deficiency, which might take a while to recover from,
everything else had been replenished quite nicely.
After all, the source of life wasn’t something you could simply manufacture on demand. And making it too quickly could affect the quality of the product!
As for the two remaining points,
there was no need to rush. Now that he had information about four of them, he could take his time researching and exploring the other two later.
Lynn clutched his kidney and stood up with a pained expression.
“It’s getting late. While I still have a little essence left, I’d better take Yin Yi to the training center. Once Hell’s Gaze descends in a few days, I’m afraid I won’t have the time.”
After all, she was a fellow townsman from Earth whom he had personally brought down.
Lynn would never forget her, of course.
……
Half an hour later.
As the light of the teleportation array flashed, Lynn sat wistfully in his wheelchair outside Nightfall City’s Class Hall. Two crutches rested across the chair, and the translucent Yin Yi, making a (ó﹏ò。) face, pushed him toward the place where he had first become a Night Doctor several months ago.
Looking at Lynn clutching his kidney, Yin Yi pressed her lips together, unable to bear the sight.
“Mr. Lynn, you really didn’t have to go to so much trouble for me. Your face is so pale, it’s obvious you’ve been seriously injured. And even now, you’re still thinking of me... I... I really...”
【Ding! Yin Yi’s Affinity toward you has increased by 10.】
Lynn leaned wistfully against the wheelchair and said, “It’s fine. Just remember how good your big brother Lynn has been to you. You can tell at a glance that I’m a man you can rely on, can’t you?”
Yin Yi stared blankly. “Uh... yes... Mr. Lynn really is very reliable.”
But was it really all right to say something like that so directly...?
Yin Yi made a ⊙﹏⊙ face. “But Mr. Lynn, are you really all right? You look like you’ve just been through a very brutal battle.”
Lynn wistfully took a drag on his cigarette. “Yeah, it really was a brutal battle... My kidneys have been completely drained.”
Yin Yi stiffened.
Wait...
Did the two of them mean the same thing by “battle”? Why did it feel like the words had taken on a rather strange meaning...?
“All right, enough talk.”
Lynn adjusted his Monocle, decisively cutting off this utterly pointless topic. He glanced at her and smiled faintly.
“Let me introduce you. This is Nightfall City’s Class Hall, and it’s also the most orderly place in all of Hell. Just like I told you before, Hell isn’t as depraved and hopeless as you imagine. There are still plenty of loving creatures in this world who possess the qualities of truth, goodness, and beauty!”
“Take the Night Doctors of Nightfall City, for example. They’re so kind that even in all of Hell, they absolutely deserve to be named moral exemplars and paragons!”
“You can trust me on that, absolutely!”
Yin Yi’s eyes immediately lit up, and her heart swelled with hope.
“R-really? It’s really that good?”
Lynn’s lips curled up.
“Of course. Do you think I’m the kind of person who’d casually deceive a newbie? We Night Doctors...”
But before he could finish, a dark-skinned Dark Elf in striped patient clothes came charging in from nearby, leaning on a crutch and attached to an IV drip. He let out a terrified scream as he barreled forward at an unbelievable speed.
A series of piercing red alarms immediately blared throughout the Class Hall.
“Warning! Warning! Patient No. 534, affiliated with the Saint Healing Center, has escaped. The target is currently loose in Nightfall City’s Class Center. Anyone who spots the target should immediately render aid! Reward: 200 Skeleton Coins!”
“Warning! The target poses a certain degree of danger!”
As the alarm sounded,
the Night Doctors in beaked masks, who had been chatting merrily in the hall, all turned to stare in unison.
A brief silence followed.
The Dark Elf in patient clothes looked terrified. He backed away again and again, mumbling something, then immediately turned around in a rage and tried to charge back out.
“Damn it, damn it, damn it!!”
But the moment he turned,
a syringe shot over from the distance and sank into his butt with a sharp squelch, knocking him down with a scream.
Then, right before Yin Yi’s frozen gaze,
dozens of creatures wearing beaked masks vaulted over the counters and swarmed toward the Dark Elf. A surging crowd gathered around him, and as folding stools and chairs flew everywhere, dozens of Night Doctors began administering group aid.
Crash, bang, thump—
Amid the shrill screams coming from the crowd,
a fragment of a stool flew out and rolled to a stop right in front of them.
Yin Yi stood there, rigid and dumbstruck, her mind buzzing. “M-Mr. Lynn, that... those aren’t the N-Night Doctors you were talking about, are they...?”
She instinctively looked toward the wheelchair.
And then, in an instant, she went (ΩДΩ)?!!
Mr. Lynn, who had just been sitting in the wheelchair, had vanished without a trace. Only a human-shaped outline remained.
“Mr. Lynn!! Mr. Lynn, where did you go?! Don’t scare me!!”
Like an Ant On A Hot Pan, she anxiously looked all around.
Then, in an instant,
Her frozen gaze landed on the crowd of beaked masks administering “physical aid” to the “patient.” She could make out a familiar figure in patient clothes, leaning on a crutch and squeezing his way inside. He was bracing himself with one crutch while swinging the other with all his might, whacking the crowd again and again.
A breeze blew across Yin Yi’s dumbstruck face.
So... these Night Doctors, these moral paragons who possessed the qualities of truth, goodness, and beauty...
