With the System’s notifications continuing to ring in his ears,

finally, after who knew how long,

【Ding! Your essence has fallen to “0.” You have gained a special abnormal debuff: Overdraw.】

As the final System notification ended, Lynn was completely drained, slumped in his chair. His mind buzzed blankly, as if it had shut down, while he lit himself a cigarette. He couldn’t summon even the slightest bit of strength anymore.

Because there was… nothing left at all!

She shook her head, then stared at him with a raspy gaze.

“【The deal has been completed. Would you like to release the curse now?】”

Lynn replied, weary but satisfied, “Go ahead, go ahead! Release it however you like!”

As soon as he finished speaking,

she turned around with a crawling motion. Her eyes, black as an Evil Ghost’s, fixed on the chair Lynn had designated as the target earlier. Her eyes instantly erupted in a series of shrill, Evil Spirit-like screams, and her gaze turned as black as the abyss.

Hum—

A tremendous surge of power swept through the area.

The chair was immediately wrapped in strands of black thread and afflicted with the curse “One Hundred Percent Miss.”

【Ding! You have successfully released a curse (without backlash or side effects). Demonization has ended.】

As the System notification sounded in his ears,

“【The deal has been completed. Looking forward to working with you again.】”

Then the octopus-like tentacles on her head began to writhe and retract. She closed her tiny eyes, intending to return to his eye socket.

Thump—

Her little forehead bumped against Lynn’s eye socket.

Then she froze there, stunned.

Something wasn’t quite right…

Thump—

As if she’d hit some kind of unsolvable bug, her tiny body simply couldn’t shrink into an eyeball. All she could do was keep making futile, pointless attempts.

Meanwhile, System notifications kept sounding in Lynn’s ears.

【Ding! Your “Cursed Eye” is attempting to change its form. Change failed. Mimicry is a higher level than the target’s own shape-changing ability; its form cannot be altered.】

But she clearly wasn’t one to give up.

She was obviously possessed of an unyielding spirit.

After a few attempts, she began grabbing Lynn’s head with a furious expression, repeatedly slamming her tiny forehead against his eye socket.

“Stop bumping into me! Stop! You can’t get back in like that! Come on!”

Lynn was getting close to a concussion from all the impacts.

It was like being pecked over and over by a woodpecker.

Lynn looked at her little face and said seriously,

“This won’t work! You can see for yourself, you don’t look like that huge eyeball you were before. Just think about it, you can’t fit in like this!”

She hung limply from Lynn’s grasp.

Clearly, she had no idea what was going on.

Although the Dice of Fate had indeed brought her to life, she was severely lacking in self-awareness aside from the deal. After all, she didn’t have a brain.

Looking at her, Lynn thought for a moment and asked,

“Do you really want to go back?”

She nodded mechanically, her gaze vacant.

“Yes.”

Lynn considered it. “It’s not like there’s no way to get back inside… After all, we’ve already had one pleasant deal, so you could say we’re partners. I suppose I could help you out…”

【Ding! You are engaging in malicious inducement and deception toward your target. Morality -1.】

Lynn raised one finger earnestly and said,

“How about this? I just thought of something. I’ll help you turn back into your original form first, and then you can turn back into my big eyeball. Maybe you’ll be able to get inside that way! What do you think?”

She nodded up and down much faster than before.

She was clearly in strong agreement.

But Lynn’s face wore a troubled expression. Frowning, he thought for a moment and said, “I could help you, but as you can see, after our deal, I don’t have any strength left. So how about this…”

Lynn blinked and proposed a condition in a tone so sincere and earnest that it sounded like something they could both accept.

“We make another deal, and then I’ll help you get back inside. How does that sound?”

Her gaze stiffened.

On the other side, Zuo Zuo was already at a loss for words, her face scrunched up in dismay. If his earlier behavior could barely be explained away as “he had to make that deal because it cost the least,” then this was now shameless, blatant deceit!

He…

He still wanted something for nothing!

She asked blankly,

“【What deal?】”

Lynn adjusted his Monocle and blinked solemnly. “Tell me quietly, what effects do the other numbers on your dice trigger? Just tell Uncle, and no one else. How about it?”

“…”

After a few attempts, she began grabbing Lynn’s head with an (〃>︿<) expression, repeatedly slamming her tiny forehead against his eye socket.

“【No!】”

Clearly, this deal wasn’t to her liking.

This time, she only stared at him, but she didn’t refuse as decisively as she had before.

Then his gaze grew serious and intent. He slowly raised one finger in front of her and said,

“How about this? All the previous conditions still stand, and on top of that, I’ll let you drink another half a pound of blood. What do you think?”
