Yi Tianyun and Domain Lord Liuli soon arrived at another location where a bead had supposedly landed. They used a simple method to find these spots, looking for large craters. If there was a crater, it meant a bead had impacted there.
Upon reaching the area, they found nothing inside, completely empty. This confirmed that someone else had already retrieved the bead, which was more or less what they expected.
“Let’s move on to the next place!”
They wasted no time, immediately heading for the following crater. But again, they found it empty.
Not hesitating, they turned and kept moving. At the third crater, the bead was still gone, yet another empty pit.
The speed with which someone else had looted those three beads in a row startled them. Yi Tianyun guessed someone with impressive speed must have collected them already. If he had gone all out looting from the start, instead of finding Domain Lord Liuli first, he might have claimed another two or three himself.
“They’re really fast. Let’s hurry to the next one!”
This time, Yi Tianyun scooped Domain Lord Liuli into his arms and sprinted to the next location. It would be faster, and since his advantage was speed, he wanted to maximize it.

Domain Lord Liuli threw him a glare but didn’t resist. She knew her speed couldn’t compare, and Yi Tianyun was unwilling to leave her behind. So, this was the compromise.

“Finally found one that hasn’t been looted.”
They hurried down, and Yi Tianyun scooped up the bead. The instant he picked it up, he sensed a chill pass by. Instinctively glancing upward, he caught sight of a figure vanishing.
“That’s the one with the ice attribute!”
He narrowed his eyes. Evidently, that person had been speeding around gathering the beads, probably responsible for snagging the earlier ones.
“Come on. That ice attribute God Monarch is also dashing around grabbing beads!”
Still holding Domain Lord Liuli, Yi Tianyun charged onward. In a flash, he and his companion disappeared, rocketing away at top speed thanks to short-range teleportation, something still feasible in this realm, even though Teleportation God Stones were useless.
Domain Lord Liuli blinked in amazement, one second they were by the crater, and the next, they’d teleported into a forest. Yi Tianyun wasted no time explaining, keeping up the breakneck pace.
On this floor, all the Ten Lives Heavenly Bead fragments had crashed somewhere and stayed there, so speed was everything. With so few cultivators left, and two apparently locked in combat, searching for the beads would be easier for the rest.
“Found another one!”
Beaming, Yi Tianyun saw that the crater below still contained a bead. He swooped down to grab it. Just as he pulled it free, a figure in deep-blue clothing appeared at the edge of the pit. Staring down at Yi Tianyun and his partner, that person froze in shock.
“What the, how can they be faster than me? I was just on my way here!”
This was the Ice attribute God Monarch Bing Que, who specialized in ice energy. He’d been maintaining a moderate pace before, but now he was going all out, and was still too slow, infuriating him.
He recognized right away that these two must be cultivators working together, disguised by illusions as beasts. Realizing he was too late, he chose not to attack and hastily left to seek the next bead.
“He’s gone,” Domain Lord Liuli noted.
“Indeed. Let’s move too. We’ve managed to grab four beads now, those first three were already taken,” Yi Tianyun said, shaking his head. “These trials are so tricky. We run all over, only to end up with four or five in total. If we could’ve grabbed another couple, that would’ve been ideal.”
With that, they left the pit to look for an exit. However, they searched high and low without finding any sign of one.
“Do we need all ten beads again to open the path?” Yi Tianyun muttered, annoyed at the possibility. “If that’s the case, we either have to cooperate and gather them all or rob the others of their beads. Otherwise, we can’t pass to the next stage.”
He sighed, feeling they’d been played the entire time. They’d rushed around madly, only to discover they still needed all ten. They were quite literally getting led around in circles!
