Chapter 1614: Chapter 70: Beat Him Up

Standing quietly behind Hastings, looking at the blank-eyed family members at the steps of the small building, Margaret’s slightly curved lips drew a seductive yet cold arc.

From the moment Grandpa decided to bring Fatty along to Hydefield, she knew that some events were bound to happen.

The saying ’In a big forest, there’s all sorts of birds’ is perfectly suited for the Hastings family.

Ever since knowing today’s family gathering was specifically for Fatty’s arrival, even a fool could clearly sense a surge of undercurrent from the unperturbed glances, expressions, and whispers of Charlotte, Adolf, and some family elders.

In the past, Margaret wouldn’t have cared at all.

In this family, there are plenty of people with high aspirations but low abilities. Just because someone has the Hastings surname doesn’t mean they’re inherently wise and will become visionary through learning and growth later.

At least on the sunny steps of Sars Manor, there are girls like Charlotte and Emily who compete internally and pose as proud ladies externally to receive the praise of their peers, and feel shallow satisfaction.

And there are those like Uncle Morrison, who rely on the family’s name and connections to navigate among politicians and tycoons, accumulating wealth and indulging in the respectful and wild nightlife.

Of course, the thing most abundant here is ambitious people.

Each of them wants to be the next Anthony Benjamin Hastings, seated on the Military God throne, overlooking everything on the earth below with eagle-like vision.

Yet, they fail to realize that the external flattery and compliance have instilled a delusional arrogance into their very bones. Lacking the experience of battling through stormy skies, they are merely sparrows. When they dive down cliffs towards prey, even a rabbit could claim their lives!

Like Adolf, whose inner maturity doesn’t match his outward appearance. Before deciding to provoke Fatty, he didn’t even consider the consequences, merely succumbing to his inner jealousy and anger.

He will never understand; at age fourteen, when he once again took on responsibilities meant for direct descendants and ignored the grievances of collateral ones, he had already lost Hastings’ trust. This family needs courage and maturity, not hypocrisy and sophistication.

The reason he wasn’t allowed to join the Phantom Corps, wasn’t allowed to join the war, is that he might achieve victory, but he couldn’t bear failure!

Several guards have already helped Adolf up from the ground, and a doctor is checking his still dazed body. From the nearby stables came a few horse neighs, followed by a series of grooms’ shouts, as some young stallions incidentally raised their hooves against each other.

While the doctor was examining Adolf, everyone remained silent. Bright sunlight cascaded down, and the farm’s seemingly eternal dust danced golden in the air. In the sunlight, Margaret could easily discern everyone’s expressions as they looked at Fatty.

Contrary to the arrogance, contempt, disdain, and eagerness before Fatty’s arrival, now they had grown a lot more cautious.

Whether it was the few restless distant uncles among the Second Generation members or the few cousins in the Third Generation, they all avoided eye contact with Fatty. The only thing that could express their minds was perhaps their expectant gazes towards Hastings.

Fatty, using the most direct way, made them understand what happens when they throw themselves at a quilled porcupine without absolute protection.

A guy audacious enough to explode into action in Hastings’ home and instantly knock down Adolf, now shamelessly pretends to be wronged and indignantly accuses first.

Such blunt, forceful, and brazen behavior is the best way to make these people realize they’ve misjudged their opponent!

Margaret believes that, at this moment, these people would desperately anticipate Grandpa stepping in to give the reckless Fatty a profound lesson; however, if Grandpa had no objections to Fatty’s actions, they would cautiously reevaluate their plans, possibly altering their strategies or even positions.

Only when they truly understand Fatty during everything about to unfold will they realize how fortunate they and the Hastings family are!!

Just like she once did at Mars Free Port!

The current situation within Feiyang Country and Leray, Grandpa Hastings confronting Sobel, haven’t given Fatty much time either. Directly displaying his attitude is Fatty’s best way to deal with certain people within the Hastings family holding grievances.

From his performance at Leifeng Star, it’s evident he’s seizing every minute, every second now. He has no patience to reason with Adolf and the like. With Grandpa’s support, all he needs is to let everyone in the family understand that his fists are bigger and style tougher, and that’s enough!

Margaret looked at Fatty and her father with a stern face, then looked at Grandpa Hastings still glaring at Fatty, and suddenly felt amused.
