Chapter 1498: Chapter 9-25: Blitz (8)

As dawn’s light ascended the sky from behind the eastern mountains, illuminating the overwhelming white clouds like ocean waves, Bellif sensed something was amiss.

Morning on the mountaintop brought a chilly breeze.

Looking at the electronic map, Bellif felt like a train driver who’s been running along a route for decades, suddenly encountering an unnoticed switch on a bleak cold day.

The scenery flanking the magnetic tracks was completely unfamiliar.

"Eighteen hours without news?" Bellif’s voice carried no anger. However, his blue eyes narrowed to two small points, revealing much of the whites, instilling a chilling ferocity.

Like a hungry wolf standing by the roadside in the snowy wilderness, glaring coldly at passing travelers.

Under Bellif’s gaze, several staff officers felt cold sweat soaking through their vests. They dared not meet Bellif’s eyes, fearing that a glance might set off a thunderstorm.

There had been no news from the Frenso Battlefield for more than eighteen hours. And they had just brought this news to Bellif.

During long high-intensity electronic warfare, the electronic systems on Leifeng Star were virtually paralyzed. The only control left was over nearby troops. Once the distance exceeded fifty kilometers, maintaining communication and command systems smoothly was already considered good.

In such circumstances, it was common for a troop to remain uncontacted for days and nights. Furthermore, Frenso Town was over three hundred kilometers away in a straight line. When the enemy’s frontline troops launched large-scale electronic attacks or used powerful base jammers, communication issues were inevitable.

This situation was anticipated and prepared for in pre-war simulations. When the battles proceed smoothly, no one minds it much. Given Frenso Town’s troop strength, even if it were more than thirty hours, no one would worry.

Frontline commanders are not puppets on strings; they possess ample authority to command their troops. When they deem it necessary, they can make all decisions independently.

But when news of the Dragon Rider Fleet’s complete annihilation and Auben’s fall hit Leifeng Star like a massive meteor hurtling through the atmosphere, the communication breakdown at Frenso Town became markedly noticeable.

Like a green bean rolling among sesame seeds.

"Marshal," Colonel Bian replied nervously, "The Command has ordered my 267th Division stationed at Oak Leaf to dispatch scouts to Frenso Town for contact. It’s estimated we’ll have news within six hours."

Bellif gazed at the electronic map in silence.

Although by all accounts, he should not feel anxious about the current situation, for some reason, he had a premonition of the future slowly and silently slipping out of control.

He leaned down, scrutinizing the simulation table for a long time. By the time he straightened up, he had dismissed his intuition.

As an experienced commander, intuition is vital, but winning a war is not based on intuition alone. Confidence and rationality are far more crucial!

Despite temporary setbacks under Sunset Mountain, the overall situation was still under the Western Alliance’s control.

The Fei Alliance’s Resk Army’s troop strength had been thoroughly mapped out a month earlier. Their reserve forces were less than twenty-five armored divisions.

This means, considering Frenso Town’s distraction and other defensive pressures, they couldn’t deploy more than ten armored divisions to the Sunset Mountain Battle Zone. Otherwise, their already fragile frontline could be breached at any point.

For the Fei Alliance, whether Sunset Mountain, Frenso Town, or any other point is breached, the result is the same, making no difference.

According to fleet intelligence, the Bandit Army fleet has only two transport ships accompanying them. This implies no more than six armored divisions could be sent to Leifeng Star.

Five or six divisions would hardly create a sense of anxiety. Space and land are entirely different warfare domains. They might have defeated Auben, but this doesn’t mean their mechanical army is invincible.

Moreover, the campaign has reached its critical moment; perhaps the Northern Cluster will break through in the next minute. Even if the Fei Alliance deployed fifty armored divisions, it would be futile. Their movements would be too slow to deploy before Sunset Mountain is breached.

Simply processing hundreds of thousands of troops to disembark from transport ships, deploying them to various bases would take dozens of hours, not to mention the supplies, ammunition, combat plans, troop organization, and other complex pre-battle preparations.

Before deployment, these reinforcements are like crabs tied up with ropes, serving only to add accolades to the Northern Cluster.

No concern for reinforcements, no worry for Resk Main Army’s reserves, and nothing else to concern about.

Currently, a squad of the Judger Squad is stationed right in Frenso Town!
