Corpse Recovery Diver
Chapter 1755 - 316: 20,000-Word Mega - !
The Second Elder, of course, knew that the "Great Elder" on the hillside was an impostor.
The Great Elder couldn't even leave his underground bedroom now, so how could he suddenly appear on the hillside outside the ancestral residence to gaze at the scenery?
Not to mention, he had just heard the Great Elder's voice in his ear.
That "Great Elder" must be Yi'er impersonating him.
But at this moment, there's no time for explanations or exposing the truth; those three groups have already charged towards him, and his orders are to ensure Yi'er survives.
Zhao Yi had no array defense in front of him, and he was, quite literally, all show, as his inside was truly incomplete. Even if he were tidied up and sold to a hotpot restaurant, he'd be accused of being short on weight.
However, he was not flustered because he knew someone would come to save him.
The Second Elder arrived.
As he started, he once again demonstrated that terrifying speed he had when charging through the residence gate earlier.
Even though the three groups were ahead, facing such a powerful presence, none dared to ignore him.
Then, a curious scene unfolded.
Each of the three groups sent one member to intercept, while the others continued towards the hillside.
Moreover, each group's member left for defense acted alone, not combining forces to intercept.
This is the drawback of a loose alliance; aside from favorable conditions, the internal friction factor is often frightfully large during other times.
Especially during such a "want it all" special moment, such ridiculous actions are bound to happen.
"Buzz!"
The big woman grabbed the legs of the small man on her shoulder, spun in place, and flung him towards the hillside.
Then she drew out a metal cudgel, turned around, and with her breath settling, her legs seemed to root into the ground. As the Qi force rippled out with the swing of the cudgel, the surrounding earth was compacted.
She followed the path of body refinement; in her large frame, she contained a vast power.
When the Second Elder arrived, the big woman swung the metal cudgel at him.
The Second Elder leaped, first stepping on the metal cudgel, unloading the force.
Their forces collided at that moment, and the big woman felt a tightness in her chest, unable to take another breath.
The Second Elder used his second step on the metal cudgel to gain momentum.
"Bang!"
The Second Elder's figure accelerated further, leaping even higher.
The big woman's cudgel recoiled, and after losing her grip, it slammed heavily into her chest.
"Crack!"
Her chest caved in, and the big woman's body leaned back, forcibly drawing her embedded legs into the ground to stop herself from completely falling.
But by then, the Second Elder had left her behind.
The big woman's eyes were wide with awe; she knew that if he weren't in a hurry and truly battled with her, she would have definitely been dead just now.
The Second Elder wasn't unwilling to kill her; he simply lacked the time.
Zhao Yi was still standing on the hillside, posing with his white beard fluttering in the wind.
Some people use the threat of death to attract attention without really intending to die, while others, once they adopt such a stance, resonate with an exquisitely fine sense of seeking death—Zhao Yi belonged to the latter.
No other reason... just skill honed.
Luo An smashed his fists together, the skin on his wrists splitting open. He long had replaced bones with iron chains; and at this moment, under his palms, two iron chains intertwined, gathered around his arms, and struck the Second Elder who had landed before him with a double punch.
The Second Elder pointed forward with the lantern in his hand.
In an instant, a series of clanging sounds rang out accompanied by sparks flying everywhere.
Luo An's arms were shredded and a ray of sword qi pierced his chest, forcing him to kneel on one knee, sealing his heart meridian.
The Second Elder sidestepped past.
Master Huixin clasped her hands in prayer, reciting a Buddhist chant as the temporary array she started was about to descend.
She was already very fast.
Li Zhiyuan had previously seen that the Master followed the orthodox array master's path, akin to a well-qualified, diligent, methodical top student in school.
Within her exclusive domain of people, she had achieved the utmost, surpassing even some geniuses, who themselves faced other deficiencies.
The Second Elder raised the lantern, directly breaking open the array's weakness with sword qi and forcefully charged through with his body.
"Boom!"
Master Huixin's eyes, ears, mouth, and nose simultaneously oozed blood, and her body trembled.
The Second Elder burst through the array.
However, having crossed the three interceptors with three successive moves, the Second Elder wasn't without cost; his clothes were torn, his hair disheveled, and the once somewhat refined elderly man now appeared somewhat unkempt.
Master Huixin quickly alerted Monk Huixu climbing the hillside behind:
"His Qi and blood are anomalous; they are constantly full!"
Standing at the third interception line, according to her deduction, after breaching the barrier of two, the Second Elder should have had to catch his breath, yet not only did he not, but both the sword thrust at her, and subsequent body charge, were filled with vigour.
No normal person could possibly achieve this unless he deliberately preserved strength.
Yet right now, there's no reason for him to do so; if possible, he would certainly want to kill each outright, as those two in front are undoubtedly long dead corpses by now.
He was very strong but not strong beyond their comprehension and acceptance. His most bizarre feature was that he seemed capable of always maintaining fullness.
Three interceptions passed, yet the sprint kept continuing.
Bu Chen's group previously left behind only Luo An to intercept, with two others sprinting.
Now, trailing at the end of the sprinting group was Zheng Ming.
Zheng Ming didn't even have time to turn around before the Second Elder was behind him.
With one step, he tread on Zheng Ming's hump.
Had both sides formally set up to fight in an organized manner, with Master Huixin, Luo An, and the big woman effectively joining forces earlier, the Second Elder would have certainly found it difficult to overcome three so seamlessly.
