Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Your Retribution Has Come

Pang Guang: "..." He had no time to process the meaning of her words.

All he knew was that this woman was now standing right behind him.

He regretted it. He shouldn’t have been so careless. He should have brought more men down with him.

But it was too late for regrets.

He could only brace himself and turn around.

When he saw the deathly pale face, his hand trembled involuntarily. His phone dropped, and the light instantly vanished.

In a panic, he fired off several shots.

"You bitch! Trying to kill me? You’re still too green!" Pang Guang was certain he’d hit Chen Xing and sounded a little smug.

As he bent down to pick up his phone, he felt a sharp pain in his neck, and a hot, wet spray of blood erupted.

The tip of a blade had pierced his throat. He didn’t even have time to scream.

The dagger plunged into his throat was twisted one hundred and eighty degrees.

His pupils dilated as he stared in agony into the darkness before him.

At that moment, her voice, as cold as a Hell Messenger’s, echoed in his mind: "You killed so many people in your last life. In this life, your retribution has come!" ’Could this woman be a messenger from the underworld?’

’Why else would she mention a past life?’

Chen Xing retracted her blade, and Pang Guang slowly collapsed.

This method of killing was one she had seen in a video in her past life. It was the exact technique Pang Guang had used to torture and kill a ten-year-old child.

The cruelty of it was still fresh in her memory.

The little girl, with her ink-black eyes wide, had been filled with terror.

But the murderer, Pang Guang, had worn a look of pure enjoyment...

After smearing her face with dirt, Chen Xing immediately emerged from the basement and slipped into the crowd of women by the RV.

These were the women who had just tried to escape and been recaptured.

When Chen Xing didn’t see Hao Wenli or He Yu’an, she knew Brother Xiao and the others had succeeded.

Not seeing his boss for a while, Ma Zha, who was covered in dust and grime, sent men to search for him while he assessed the damage.

That explosion had been vicious.

It had thrown them into chaos and killed quite a few of their brothers.

It was so chaotic that no one noticed the true culprit hiding in the crowd.

About ten minutes later, someone came over carrying Pang Guang’s body. "Brother Ma Zha, the boss has been killed!"

Ma Zha: "..." He wasn’t much of a fighter, but even he could see the method was brutal.

Although Pang Guang wasn’t from the Wu Family, he was still agile and ruthless enough that it wouldn’t be easy for an ordinary person to kill him at such close range.

"The killer must have run off!" He glanced at Chen Xing and the other women. "It’s all these women’s fault. How dare they try to escape? Just you wait until tonight. You’ll all get what’s coming to you. Shove them all in the truck!"

The women started to cry in fear, but they didn’t dare to be loud, afraid it would earn them a beating.

Chen Xing also covered half her face and pretended to cry, so no one would recognize her.

Nearly all the vehicles had been destroyed. The twenty-some women were locked in a single truck, and the stuffiness was unbearable.

Chen Xing was fine. If she felt uncomfortable, she could enter her space to breathe some fresh air.

About an hour later, they finally got organized and set off.

This time, their route took them onto the highway. They drove for half an hour, then exited and followed a national road for another ten minutes or so until they arrived at a large farmstead.

This farmstead was massive, built halfway up a mountain and surrounded by lush greenery.

Over thirty buildings were arranged in neat rows.

Ma Zha was the first to get out of the vehicle. Seeing Secretary Qi coming down a staircase, he hurried forward, bowing slightly. "Brother Qi, we ran into some trouble..." He then leaned in and whispered the story in Secretary Qi’s ear. "Brother Pang is dead. We didn’t dare to linger, so we rushed back to report to you!"

Secretary Qi was under 1.7 meters tall. He wore black-framed glasses and a gray short-sleeved shirt, with every button meticulously fastened.

His expression remained impassive as he listened to the report.

However, his eyes held an unfathomable chill as he slowly looked at Ma Zha. "You dared to come back without catching the person?"

The implication was clear: what if they had been followed because they’d run back without capturing the attacker?

Ma Zha was so frightened by his tone that he immediately bowed even lower. "Rest assured, Brother Qi. I wasn’t that careless. I made sure we weren’t followed!"

He had been extremely careful, worried about being tailed.

Brother Qi said no more, simply giving an order: "Send someone to investigate the background of this Chen Xing!"

"Yes, Brother Qi!"

Standing among the captives, Chen Xing naturally heard their exchange clearly. She scanned her surroundings.

’Could this be the Migratory Clan’s main base? It’s a good spot for kidnapping, extortion, and hiding out!’

Afterward, they were led to a building at the very top, on the outermost edge of the farmstead.

Inside the building was a central hallway with two doors on each side, for a total of four rooms.

The room had only one window, about two meters high—too high for a normal person to reach—and its frame was welded shut with iron bars.

It was a foolproof way to imprison ordinary people.

Chen Xing found a corner, sat down, and leaned her head against the wall to rest.

She first entered her space, drank some spring water, and organized the supplies she had just acquired before truly relaxing.

’It’s easy to get spotted moving around in broad daylight. Nighttime will be easier.’

"Where is this place? *Sob*... We’re not going to be sold, are we?"

"I have a feeling they’re going to kill us... I’m so scared..."

"These men are all so vicious and terrifying. We’re probably going to die, aren’t we? *Sob*..."

...

This group of women, ranging in age from their teens to their thirties, were all locked in one room. The twenty-some of them were now a sobbing mess.

Chen Xing automatically tuned them out and just closed her eyes to rest.

Someone noticed her and was shocked she could sleep. "How can she possibly be sleeping at a time like this?"

"I know, right? She’s got some nerve!"

"She’s not dead, is she?"

The whole roomful of people was scared to death, thinking Chen Xing had either died of fright or gone mad from fear.

"You go check on her..." someone said to the person closest to Chen Xing.

The girl hesitated for a moment before slowly walking over. Just as she was about to reach out her hand, Chen Xing’s eyes snapped open.

A collective, resounding shriek erupted from the others in the room.

"You’re not dead..." the girls asked, both relieved and a little unsettled.

Chen Xing: "..." ’Have you ever seen a dead person open their eyes?’

Ignoring their reactions, she closed her eyes again.

Just then, someone opened the main door from the outside. "What’s all the screaming about? Wait ’til tonight. You’ll have plenty to scream about then."

The women: "..." The words were more than a little unsettling.

Seeing Chen Xing’s cold and unapproachable demeanor, they dispersed, and those who had been crying resumed.

"Everyone, stop crying and wailing!" The oldest woman in the room, Sister Feng, was relatively calm. Even though she’d been captured, she didn’t look too disheveled. "Even if we cry ourselves to death, they won’t let us go. We’d be better off thinking about how to escape!"

She had been truly unlucky during the escape attempt.

She had already managed to evade the Migratory Clan’s pursuit when, out of nowhere, a woman in a dress with wavy, curly hair spotted her.

And it wasn’t enough that she saw her—the woman actually let out a shriek before turning tail and running off herself.

That one shout, of all things, attracted the Migratory Clan. She wasn’t able to get away and was captured again.

She would never forget that treacherous face for the rest of her life.

"Sister Feng..." someone came forward in terror, urging her to lower her voice. "If they hear you saying things like that, it’ll be terrible!"

Sister Feng naturally knew what the consequences would be.

But she couldn’t bring herself to meekly accept her fate and let them slaughter her as they pleased.

When she spoke again, her voice was much quieter but exceptionally firm. "I don’t care what the rest of you think. I am definitely going to escape!"
