Chapter 173: Chapter 170: She Said They Must Be Saved

A beast-like roar echoed, filling everyone with terror.

Chen Xing noticed that only Li Tong had a smug look on her face.

"Brother Jin, I’m going to go take a look. You can do whatever you want with these people!" Li Tong said nonchalantly.

Brother Jin, however, nodded with a stiff expression.

This was exactly why he couldn’t ignore Li Tong.

"Take these people to the infirmary and treat them!"

Chen Xing had originally planned to tear this place apart, but now she was also curious about that roar.

So she held back and asked, "I’d like to get some medicine from my car for them?"

Brother Jin nodded distractedly. "Do as you please." ’After all, there’s no way she can escape from here,’ he thought.

Chen Xing found some medicine in her car, grabbed some spring water, and went to the infirmary.

Brother Jin had kept his word; a doctor was already treating the group.

From a distance, she could hear wailing and screaming.

None of them had fatal injuries, but they had multiple fractures, so the treatment was naturally excruciating.

After Chen Xing went in, she pretended to help. Once the doctor found effective medicine for their injuries, she took the opportunity to make them drink the spring water.

If she said she would save them, she meant it.

It was for no other reason than the girl’s well-intentioned warning.

She also took the chance to grasp the girl’s hand, showing a rare gentleness. "Don’t give up hope. You’ve endured this long. Things can’t get any worse!"

The girl, Li Chen, had red-rimmed eyes, her fists clenched tightly. "They’re not human..." She choked up for a good while before continuing, "Not only do they abuse us, but when someone is on the verge of death, they send them underground to feed the monster!"

"What monster?"

Li Chen shook her head. "I don’t know. I’ve never seen it. Everyone who’s been taken down there has died. I heard that only Li Tong knows what it is!"

She grabbed Chen Xing’s hand again and urged her, "Before things get any worse, you should find a way to get out of here quickly! Don’t let that man, Brother Jin, fool you, or you’ll end up damned beyond redemption, just like me!"

That man had a face that could bewitch the world; no woman could resist his charm.

If you pull away before you get in too deep, you might still save your own life.

She then added, a bit apologetically, "What I said earlier... it wasn’t really for your sake. I just wanted to vent and provoke Brother Jin into killing me. So... you don’t have to think I did it for you!"

Now, she was genuinely grateful to Chen Xing and truly hoped she could escape from this Devil’s grasp.

Chen Xing smiled, patted the back of her hand, and said nothing.

At her smile, Li Chen was entranced. "You’re so beautiful!" ’She’s too dazzling. I kind of understand why Brother Jin said she’s different from any other woman.’

Chen Xing returned to her room and stayed for only a moment before opening the door and heading out on her own.

The security in this building wasn’t very tight, aside from the four people guarding the main entrance on the first floor.

And with a dozen or so guards at the main gate leading outside, it actually seemed quite lax.

’Maybe they’re just certain no one can escape?’

Chen Xing quickly reached the first floor, but after searching almost everywhere, she couldn’t find the so-called "underground."

While she was wondering, she heard a guard at the main entrance say, "Sister Tongtong, you must be tired. It seems especially restless today. Do you think it knows a stranger is here? Why don’t you just tell Brother Jin and feed it that one you dislike?"

"Don’t worry, I’ll feed her to it sooner or later!" Li Tong said hatefully before entering the five-story building where Chen Xing was staying.

As soon as she came in, she seemed to sniff something in the air and looked around.

Finding nothing out of the ordinary, she ran upstairs.

Just two minutes later, her delighted voice rang out. "Brother Jin, you’re finally willing to have me?"

"You’ve always been my little treasure. It’s just that you were underage. Wasn’t I just waiting for you to grow up?"

"But... I was already yours when I was twelve!"

Brother Jin looked slightly awkward. "I was young and foolish back then. Now I know to cherish you! Come on... tell Brother Jin, was my little pet well-behaved today?"

As he spoke, he pulled the overjoyed Li Tong into his arms.

Li Tong’s face flushed red. She hugged Brother Jin’s neck tightly. "As long as there’s food, my little pet is always very well-behaved!"

Overjoyed, she took the initiative and kissed Brother Jin.

Elsewhere, Chen Xing, unable to hear any useful clues, returned to her room.

Looking down from the window, she saw not only people at the main gate downstairs but also people patrolling the yard from time to time.

’It seems they’re more vigilant outside than inside?’

She looked up at the sky.

A little over an hour later, a light drizzle began to fall.

The patrols in the yard had long since gone inside.

Chen Xing then dangled a rope from the window and jumped down.

She had been observing for a full hour and had noticed that these patrolmen became particularly flustered whenever they got near the pigsty.

’It seems more likely that the monster is kept over there.’

Only when she got there did she realize that, besides the pigsty, there was nothing special about the area.

At that moment, as if it had smelled something, the monster suddenly let out a roar.

Without a second thought, Chen Xing quickly ran to the side of the building and scrambled back into her room in a few quick movements.

Looking out the window, she saw Li Tong running towards the pigsty in the heavy rain, then turning a corner nearby.

When she came out again, her brow was furrowed as she looked up at the building.

Chen Xing had already moved away from the window.

However, she felt that not only was this Li Tong raising something, but she also shared some kind of psychic connection with the monster they mentioned.

Her gaze fell very clearly on the windows of the three people who had arrived today.

A few minutes later, the door to Chen Xing’s room opened.

Li Tong and Brother Jin walked in with their men.

Seeing that Chen Xing’s clothes were completely dry and her hair wasn’t wet, Li Tong’s brow furrowed even tighter.

’So... none of the three people she suspected seemed to be the one who went out in the rain to get close to her little pet?’

Chen Xing pursed her lips.

She wasn’t stupid enough to go out in the rain wearing her regular clothes; she had specifically brought a rain hat and tucked all her hair inside it.

"You’ve been in your room the whole time?" Li Tong found that impossible to believe.

Her little pet had always been sensitive and accurate; it had never made a mistake like this before.

"I told you it couldn’t be Chen Xing!" Brother Jin said, expressing his displeasure with Li Tong. "She’s on the fifth floor. How could she possibly get out without being seen!"

Li Tong flung her hands and ran out angrily.

She had just managed to win Brother Jin’s favor, and after this scene, he was clearly unwilling to continue with her.

The gentleness in Brother Jin’s eyes deepened as he looked at Chen Xing. "Are you getting used to this room? If you’re not comfortable, I can have it changed for you right away."

"It’s fine."

"You can also tell me anytime if you need anything."

"Mm."

Seeing that Chen Xing’s attitude hadn’t softened in the slightest, Brother Jin also left.

Back in her room, the more Li Tong thought about it, the angrier she got, but there was nothing she could do.

After falling asleep in a rage, she woke up still feeling a knot of anger stuck in her chest.

She leaped up, grabbed a whip, and ran towards the gym.

This was her favorite place.

Whenever Brother Jin was with another woman, she would come here to vent.

Before long, the same people who were treated last night were brought here again.

Li Chen sneered, seeming to no longer be afraid.

The rest of them began to beg for mercy.

After a night’s rest, they had finally started to feel less pain. Who would have thought it was about to start all over again?
