Chapter 76: Art of seduction

"My son and daughter-in-law have long separated and they are both busy with their own affairs."

Daniel realized he had probably touched something inappropriate so he stopped talking for a while and then said, "What about the Vice President?"

"I called that brat and he was at my throat, saying I interrupted something important. He must be busy with work affairs," Old Master Hawke felt a mild headache at the thought of Callahan’s unpredictable temperament.

"The Old Master surely dotes on his grandsons," Daniel Qing smiled.

"Enough about me. Qing, tell me about your daughter instead."

"Kira is my pride," Daniel Qing responded in a heartbeat, "She has been pampered since she was young but now she has taken the huge responsibility of Qing Grand. And she hasn’t disappointed me so far."

Old Master Hawke nodded and stroked his beard.

After a moment, he said, "I am talking about your elder daughter."

Daniel was stunned for a moment.

He recovered his senses and said, "I am ashamed of the spectacle she has caused in the past. That child... She lost her mother when she was young and didn’t respect her stepmother. I was busy with the Qing Empire, so nobody was there to discipline her. Hence, she had grown to be wilful and headstrong, never admitting her wrongs."

When Old Master Hawke didn’t say anything, Daniel frowned, ’Could it be he is displeased by Sienna because of the recent incidents and her past involvement with Seth?’

He made a quick decision there and then, "Don’t worry, Old Master. I will make sure she doesn’t attend the engagement party to prevent any unwanted trouble.

In fact, to teach her a lesson, I have already cut her off. She must be struggling in the failing resort property I have assigned."

"Oh?" Old Master Hawke looked at him.

Daniel nodded, "This time, I must correct her character..."

"Ah, I must be getting on in years seeing that I made you misunderstand my words."

"Old Master?" Daniel was bewildered, "What do you mean?"

"I quite like that elder daughter of yours. She makes great lotus tea as well," Old Master Hawke said with a smile.

Daniel was stunned, "Have you met Sienna before?"

Old Master Hawke opened his mouth but then held back his words, ’If this Qing guy knows that both his cabbages are stolen by our dogs, he would hang on my neck. Moreover, his elder daughter and that brat might end things soon. It’s better to keep it low.’

Hence, putting on a mysterious face, Old Master Hawke uttered some wise words, "Due to the recent events, the engagement party is a private affair so there won’t be a long guest list. But family harmony and bonds should always be cherished..."

When Daniel understood what Old Master Hawke was implying, he hesitated.

"What I mean is... your elder daughter must be there."

Daniel sighed, "Yes... Yes. I will make sure she is there."

"Join me?"

Callahan snapped out of his reverie.

Dressed in a black satin nightgown, Sienna was seated by the round table.

Callahan pressed a fist to his mouth and coughed lightly before he entered the room and took a seat on the other side of the table.

Up so close, Sienna didn’t miss the faint redness spreading on the man’s face.

’Hmph, you are not the only one familiar with lawless art of seduction. I can do it too!’

Sienna sighed wistfully, her lips quirking up in a small smile when she saw the man squirming like a fish out of the water.

Callahan looked at Sienna, but her gaze was particularly bright, her eyes were slightly narrowed and her lips parted, giving her an enchanting look.

For some reason, he couldn’t look straight into her eyes.

When his gaze accidentally travelled down to the lacy borders of her satin nightgown, the man instantly closed his eyes.

He could hear the sound of his heart resting in his chest.

With a swift movement, he loosened his necktie and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt.

’Paper tiger,’ Sienna smirked.

"You have prepared such a beautiful candlelight dinner for me. I don’t even know how to thank you."

Sienna spoke in a softer voice that was easy to miss if the other person wasn’t paying attention.

She cut the steak gracefully and shifted the fork to her right hand before she lifted a piece to his mouth.

"Why don’t I feed you myself?"

The long sleeve of her nightgown slipped to her elbow. Callahan’s gaze lingered on her deliate wrist and his throat turned dry.

"I am good," He looked away.

"You won’t eat from my hands? Then, does that mean you don’t accept my gratefulness and I should try harder to thank you?"

Her eyes were shining like pearls. Almost as if another word from him and she would burst into tears.

Without wasting a second, Callahan opened his mouth, letting her do as she wished.

The dinner was particularly happened.

Sienna spared no efforts in ’thanking’ Callahan properly.

But with her feeding and teasing him, Callahan’s face had long turned into the shade of a cooked shrimp.

"Are you happy now?" He asked when they were both done with their dinner.

Sienna’s face brightened as she began to nod but then she stopped and glanced at the cheesecake.

"For dessert, why don’t I feed you in another way?"

She rose from her chair and walked round the table before she sat on his lap.

Callahan’s fingers curled on the table.

Clueless to his reaction, Sienna gracefully got some chocolate from the pastry and smeared it on the corner of her lips, ’’I will feed this from my mouth."

The man’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down and his breathing grew heavier every second.

’Got you nervous huh? Now you know how it feels when you catch me off guard everytime,’ Sienna inwardly thought.

Having had her fair share of fun, she began to get up from his lap, ’’I forgot you don’t like sweets. Then, you can skip the dessert tonight... ah!"
