Chapter 27: A revelation

Ava looked out of the car window as drove far away from the airport premises, "Phew! That was a close call!"

"When did you become so sly, Sienna? I was panicking while you had it under control. You actually brought two cars... Hmm?" Ava’s words trailed off when she turned to her right and saw Leon.

Leon flashed a charming smile at her before he refocused on the road.

Ava blinked, "Oh, you even hired a model to be the driver? Girl, you..."

"COUGH COUGH!" Sienna coughed so loudly that the three people in the car were concerned about her throat.

"Here," Callahan passed her a bottle of water.

Hearing the ’fourth’ voice, Ava turned around in confusion and when she saw Callahan, her eyes widened in shock, "Holy Cow! Hellraiser?"

Sienna nearly choked on the water.

Callahan flashed a faint but amicable smile, "It’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss Rivers."

Ava shuddered as goosebumps covered her body. Since when did Callahan Hawke become so easygoing?

Ava turned to look at Sienna but Sienna avoided her gaze, "You two... what... how?!" Before Ava could even voice her question, the car partition was raised, almost capturing her neck.

Ava turned and glared at Leon, "What do you think you are doing? Do you want to kill me?"

"You are trying to kill me,’’ Leon sighed as he looked down.

There was barely any space between them and her long hair was sprawled on his shoulder as she had fully bent over in shock.

"I am sorry. I didn’t...."

"With a beautiful lady this close, I cannot possibly focus on the road," Leon whispered.

Ava looked at the man, taken aback by his stunning smile. She thought he was blaming her but he was actually... flirting with her with such confidence?

"You are a sweet talker," she said as she straightened back in her seat.

"Am I? I have been told that I have a poisonous tongue. You are the first person who inspired the sweet talk so maybe you should give the credits to yourself."

In the backseat, Sienna finally relaxed a little when the partition was raised. She had not expected Ava and Callahan to come face to face under such circumstances.

Ava had been to the same school as them and she was familiar with Callahan just as much she was familiar with her. If there was one person who knew of ’all’ reasons she should not be with Callahan, it would be Ava.

"You haven’t told her," Callahan remarked.

Sienna pointed at herself and then at him, "You and I are not the kind of story that can be easily told to people."

Callahan raised his eyebrow a little, "I think we make a great one,’’ his gaze briefly dipped to her lips.

Sienna’s breath hitched for a moment but before she could confront him on that ’little’ action, the man was looking out of the window, ’Am I... seeing things?’

She looked at his side profile in a daze, her gaze slowly trailed to the diamond ear stud on his earlobe before her eyes lingered the lines of his face.

"Enjoying the view?" The man turned to look at her.

"It’s okay," Sienna gulped softly as she averted her gaze, "How did you know that I am at the airport?"

"Thomas called."

Sienna nodded, "Did you see the trending news?"

"Yes."

Sienna lowered her head, her fingers curled around the clutch.

Suddenly, a broad palm covered her hand. A tingling sensation spread on her skin as he looked at Callahan, "Do what you need to do. You have my support."

Her eyes widened. She had instinctively held back because her plans involved his brother too and she hadn’t even realized it. Until now.

But the way Callahan looked at her... there was a silent reassurance in his gaze that no matter what happened outside, it wouldn’t change a thing between them.

She flipped her palm and held his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze, "Thank you."

Sienna retracted her hand and dialled a number, "Do it."

As she gave some instructions on the call, she missed the speed in which Callahan retracted his hand, which was slightly shaky.

Holding his breath, the man looked at the hand she had just touched and a faint hue of red crept up his neck. He reached out and loosened his collar, almost tugging it off.

"What’s wrong? Are you fine?" Sienna noticed his movements the moment she dropped the call, "Why do you look so red? Are you unwell?"

When she did not get a response from him, she reached her hand out to his forehead. But the man flinched away from her touch, "Sit still."

Sienna’s hand froze mid-air. She looked at him, bewildered, ’What happened to him suddenly?’

That day, one of the topmost media houses released a video that stirred chaos throughout Amethyst City, adding a completely new angle to the Qing Family scandal.

It looked like CCTV footage taken from the Qing Grand. In the video, Seth Hawke was holding Kira Qing’s hand as he led her to a hotel room.

What caused the video to go viral the moment it was posted was the date and timestamp mentioned on it.

The sharp-eyed netizens immediately caught onto the details and dug into all the interviews and statements released by the Qing Family. They pieced a few clues together before coming to one conclusion:

’Seth Hawke cheated on his Sienna and Kira Qing slept with her sister’s boyfriend when they were still dating!’

In the Qing Mansion.

The atmosphere was sombre. In the head chair of the dining table, Daniel Qing flipped his iPad over.

"Husband..." Beth approached him, her voice gentle.

But the man did not spare the woman a gaze as he glanced at Kira, "Is this true?"

"Daddy, it’s...."

"Don’t bother making excuses. I want to know the truth!" The man’s gaze turned sharp.

Kira flinched.

"Young Master Hawke is here," The butler stepped in and announced Seth’s arrival.
