The sound of the camera shutter echoed.
Alice Robinson was slightly startled and quickly turned her head.
"Your expressions just now were great. The essence of photography is capturing natural moments. Just pretend I’m not here, and I’ll capture your best expressions," the photographer said with a smile.
Alice was puzzled and asked, "Why are we taking photos?"
Chester Robinson hugged Alice, "We’re running out of time to have our wedding photos taken, so I asked the photographer to snap a few shots of us trying on our outfits as a keepsake."
Rachel raised her hand, "Daddy, I want to take pictures too... I want to be a little princess."
"Of course, Rachel is Daddy and Mommy’s little princess. How could you be left out?" Alice hugged her daughter and couldn’t resist kissing her cheeks a few times.
"What about me?" Chester asked jealously, pointing to his own face.
Alice was amused by Chester’s childish behavior and stood on tiptoe to give him a peck.
Chester was not satisfied with just a taste and held Alice close, deepening the kiss...
The photographer quickly captured this moment...
The scene was sweet and beautiful.
At night, after putting Rachel to bed, Alice came into the room.
"Chester..."
Chester closed the laptop in front of him and pulled Alice into his arms, "Is our daughter sleeping?"
"Yes, she’s even dreaming about being a little princess."
"Our daughter is adorable, isn’t she?" Chester said with a smile.
Alice sat on Chester’s lap, wrapping her arms around his neck, "Is the wedding all set?"
"Don’t you trust me to handle things?" Chester got up and pressed her down, not allowing her to struggle, but the kiss he placed on her forehead was incredibly gentle, "You don’t need to worry about anything; leave it all to me. It’s been a long day, sleep early!"
"You rarely bring the computer home. Did you have work to do today?" Alice noticed the computer.
"Yes, still got a bit more to finish."
Alice cupped Chester’s head and pecked his lips, "I know you’re a busy CEO, don’t overwork yourself, sleep early too."
"Alright."
Back in the room, Alice lay in bed.
Immersed in happiness, she should have fallen asleep easily, but surprisingly, she stared blankly at the ceiling, unable to sleep.
The day after tomorrow is their wedding day, and all the invitations have been sent out; their wedding is imminent.
Yet, this happiness always feels like it’s missing something.
The reason, naturally, is his heart, which she still hasn’t fully understood.
Does he still love Becca? Honestly, she’s not sure; the only thing she knows for certain is that she can’t leave him, so she chose this path.
If she can’t figure it out clearly, then she might as well muddle through, at least the future will have him by her side.
She closed her eyes, ready for sleep, but her mind was still awake.
Once again, she thought of that day in the rain, when she forced him to call Becca... she still couldn’t forget his silence at that moment.
Although he came to her afterward, the silence of that moment will undoubtedly linger in her mind for the rest of her life.
Turning over again and again, she still couldn’t sleep, and finally, she got up, draping on a nightgown wrap.
Standing in front of the window, she looked at the ring on her right hand’s fourth finger.
Without turning the light on, the ring still shone brilliantly with the garden’s soft glow.
She looked at the uniquely designed ring and remembered the scene when he proposed to her, and she couldn’t help but smile.
Perhaps she shouldn’t hesitate any longer; time can prove his heart, and she believes she has chosen the right path.
She lifted her gaze to the starry sky outside the window, making a wish on one of them.
Wishing for a beautiful future, hoping that in the days ahead, she can see his true feelings for her.
Alice hadn’t expected that just when everything was developing beautifully, a small incident would occur the day before the wedding.
This incident shook her hard-won calm once again.
He had gone to the wedding site early in the morning for the final preparations, while she stayed home with Rachel.
Since the study computer broke for some unknown reason, and Rachel was clamoring to play Plants Vs Zombies, she had no choice but to give Rachel the computer he had brought back last night to play with.
The computer was password-protected, and after fiddling for a long time on the bed with her daughter, they finally unlocked it with the letters "QCS".
At the moment they opened the computer with "QCS," she inexplicably felt happy.
"Mommy."
Her daughter suddenly called her.
She responded with joy, "Yes?"
Daughter said, "Is this Daddy and Auntie Becca?"
Alice was taken aback, moved the computer over, and looking at the screen, the smile vanished from her face.
Unexpectedly, while downloading the Plants Vs Zombies app, her daughter had accidentally opened his computer’s photo archive...
And the first photo that popped up was a scene of him and her dancing intimately in the villa in T City.
She was stunned for a long time.
She had imagined countless times in her mind what it would be like when he and she danced together, but she didn’t expect the image to be more beautiful and romantic than she’d imagined.
In the dim light, he held Becca’s waist, gazing at her with deep affection, while Becca smiled back at him.
In this photo, Becca was not the focal point, because anyone with good eyes could tell that Becca was shy and unused to dancing with him. The focus was on him, and his gaze, so deep and unwilling to leave Becca for even a second.
"Mommy, Daddy and Auntie Becca are dancing; Auntie Becca is so beautiful!" Rachel’s innocent voice didn’t reveal how much shock it gave her mother’s heart.
Alice said nothing and continued to click through.
Afterward, there were no more pictures of him with Becca, but every photo prominently featured Becca — Becca quietly sipping coffee in a café, Becca at work...
She hadn’t expected that he had documented so many of Becca’s every expression and movement.
A pang of pain tugged at her heart, and Alice’s gaze eventually settled on one of Becca’s photos.
