Chapter 1273: Chapter 666: Extra Story: Taking Care of You Is What I Want Most
Chester smiled subtly, daring not to speak his mind. His woman had been spoiled by him before; she’d hardly be considered understanding, yet he loved her just as she was.
"Yes, my darling is the most sensible." He lifted her chin and planted a deep kiss.
"Just three to five days?"
"Yes, no later than five days."
"That’s good!" Alice tugged at his collar, "You must hurry back, remember what I told you."
Chester feigned ignorance, "What did you say?"
"Not allowed to find other women, look at other women, or touch other women..."
Alice’s words made Chester unable to suppress his laughter.
Chester pouted, "What’s so funny?"
Chester lovingly rubbed the fine hair on her forehead, "Silly girl!" He truly adored her cuteness.
"Should I take you to the airport tomorrow morning?"
"Have you forgotten you can’t be exposed to wind?"
"I won’t be exposed to wind sitting in the car."
"No way." Chester wrapped his arms around her and turned back to the bedroom, "Recently, spend more time resting in bed and don’t go anywhere... Aunt Evelyn will make some broth for you to nourish yourself, you must remember to drink it."
Alice reached out to hug him, grumbling, "I know, you’re such a nag."
"Alice."
Mrs. Geoffrey personally brought a bowl of soup into the room.
Upon hearing Mrs. Geoffrey’s voice, Alice put down the magazine she was reading and got out of bed immediately.
Mrs. Geoffrey urged repeatedly, "You should quickly lie down in bed, don’t get up."
Alice stepped forward to take the soup from Mrs. Geoffrey’s hands, saying, "Don’t treat me like a patient like Christine does, I’m perfectly fine."
Mrs. Geoffrey hastily helped Alice to sit down on the edge of the bed, "This is ejiao pig’s foot soup, very nourishing... Drink it now that it’s cooled."
"Thank you, Auntie."
"Don’t call me Auntie, call me Aunt Evelyn like Chester does!"
"Alright, Aunt Evelyn."
Mrs. Geoffrey’s reprimands were more like affectionate concern as she said, "You child, you refuse to move in with us even when asked... Chester has to manage such a big company, he surely won’t have that much time to be with you every day, and you don’t know how to take care of yourself..."
"Aunt Evelyn, I’m sorry to disappoint your kindness. I don’t move in with you because..."
Mrs. Geoffrey smiled and took over the conversation, "Because you want more time alone with Chester, right?"
"Um... yes."
Alice lowered her head guiltily, which Mrs. Geoffrey saw as shyness.
Mrs. Geoffrey smiled and said, "I understand you young people, so I won’t push you. But Rachel is very happy staying here."
"Of course she likes it; there are people to play with her here."
Mrs. Geoffrey held Alice’s hand, "In the few days Chester isn’t here, stay here comfortably. Let us know if you need anything... Don’t think too much about the child. You and Chester are still young, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future."
"Yes."
"The soup is cooled, drink it now..."
"Okay."
Under the caring of Mrs. Geoffrey and Christine Quinn, Alice’s complexion had improved greatly.
Although Mrs. Geoffrey and Christine Quinn were against it, Alice decided to go to the airport to pick up Chester.
Alice got up early that day, had herself groomed and dressed, then got in the car, asking the driver to take her and Rachel to the airport.
While recuperating these days, she learned from Mrs. Geoffrey how to make a few kinds of soup. She really wished he were right by her side, so she could make soup for him to drink, letting him once again be astonished by her culinary skills.
Alice checked the time and impatiently asked the driver when they would reach the airport.
"Miss Robinson, no need to worry, once we turn the corner after crossing this bridge, we’ll take the next interchange, and we’ll be there."
The driver was a person from Flowery Kingdom, speaking Chinese, but Alice was most familiar with French and English, so her understanding of very complex Chinese was a bit lacking.
"What turning a corner after crossing a bridge, and taking an interchange?"
"Mommy, what kind of tongue-twister are you saying?" Rachel furrowed her brow, "Uncle Driver said, cross this bridge, make a turn, take the interchange and we’ll be at the airport."
Alice had to admit Rachel’s Chinese was better than hers. She hadn’t learned Chinese when she was young, always using French to communicate with family, until Chester came to the Robinson house. Because Chester spoke Chinese, the Robinson family began speaking in Chinese, and it was then that she learned how to speak Chinese.
So, her Chinese foundation wasn’t very solid.
"Oh."
"Mommy, you should properly learn Chinese, otherwise when I speak with Daddy in the future, there’ll be a lot you don’t understand." Rachel said earnestly.
Alice glared at her daughter. You little rascal, your mommy’s Chinese isn’t that bad! If you hadn’t been taught Chinese from a young age, would you be better than me now?
