Chapter 1262: Chapter 660: Extra Story: I’m Pregnant? 3_2

Rachel scrunched her eyebrows and pouted, "Mommy, you killed someone!"

Alice Robinson was immediately flustered and panicked, "That’s nonsense!"

"You cut your finger."

Hearing this, Alice looked down and realized her left index finger was indeed injured, with blood oozing out.

"Ah!" Alice awkwardly apologized to Rachel, "I’m sorry."

"Mommy, you shouldn’t apologize to me, you should apologize to your finger. It seems to be in pain."

What a little rascal! Alice quickly changed the subject, "Hurry up and eat. What do you want to eat? Mommy will cut it for you."

The maid had already brought a bandage and quickly helped Alice wrap it.

It was only then Alice felt the pain, furrowing her brows tightly.

Rachel bit her finger and thought for a moment, "Mommy, I want apple pie."

"Okay."

Alice scooped a spoonful of apple pie and placed it on Rachel’s plate.

"Mommy, did you quarrel with Daddy last night?" Rachel suddenly asked, looking up.

Alice was puzzled, "No!"

Rachel earnestly said, "But I clearly heard Daddy calling Mommy a monster last night, and Mommy calling Daddy a bad guy..."

Monster, bad guy? Isn’t that...

The spoon in Alice’s hand instantly fell onto the dining table, and she blushed, "Did you hear that?"

"You were so loud last night, there was no way not to know." Rachel shrugged helplessly.

Alice blushed to the roots of her ears.

Did she really shout that loud last night? Alice frowned as she recalled.

"And Mommy, every time you fight with Daddy, you wake up late... then it’s Daddy who takes me to kindergarten."

"Is... is that so?" Alice lowered her head and saw the maid beside her secretly laughing. She really wished she could find a hole to dig into.

"Mommy, the apple pie is delicious..." The little imp ate the apple pie, completely forgetting about the parents’ quarrel.

Alice kept her head down as she finished the meal.

In the evening, Alice leaned on the bedhead, softly telling a story to Rachel.

"When the mermaid woke up, she found her comb missing. She looked and looked, and finally found her comb on a shore. But as she was about to swim to the shore to retrieve it, a very handsome young man picked up the comb..."

At this point, Alice secretly glanced at her daughter beside her.

Her daughter was already asleep, hugging her, with tiny snores.

Seeing her daughter’s peaceful sleeping face, Alice couldn’t help but kiss her on the forehead, and then gently took her daughter’s hand away and carefully covered her with a blanket before getting off the bed.

Returning to the room, she unexpectedly saw Chester Robinson loosening his tie.

Hearing the sound, Chester turned around, "I was about to look for you."

Alice said, "I was telling Rachel a story."

"Is Rachel asleep?"

"Yes."

Chester threw away the tie and walked to Alice, leaning down to kiss her.

Alice instinctively dodged, "No..."

"What’s wrong?" He lifted her up by her hips, letting his prominent nose brush her nose, "Do you dislike the smell of alcohol on me?"

Alice wrapped her arms around his neck, "Why are you back so early?"

Chester chuckled with a hoarse, low laugh, "I said I wanted to come back to accompany my wife, so they made me drink three self-imposed shots, and then let me go."

Alice pinched Chester’s face, "Smart move... go take a shower, you stink."

Chester didn’t put Alice down, gazing at her with alluring, slightly drunken eyes, speaking slowly, "Go on, tell me, what’s the happy thing you want to share with me?"

"Hmm?"

"In the afternoon, you were in a good mood, seemed like you had something to say to me."

She had to admire his attentiveness as if nothing could escape his notice.

Alice raised her head, smugly said, "I want you to guess first; if you guess it, I’ll tell you, if not, I won’t say."

"Naughty." Chester carried Alice to the bed, then suddenly said, "By the way, Aunt Evelyn called me today, asking me to take you back to Geoffrey for a meal."

The topic unintentionally shifted, Alice sat on Chester’s lap, responding faintly, "Oh."

Chester wrapped his arms around Alice’s waist, "What’s wrong? You seem not too interested."

"Not really... let’s go on the weekend, bring Rachel along!"

"Aunt Evelyn said tomorrow is Anna’s birthday, having a family meal to celebrate for her... If you want to bring Rachel, let’s take a day off for her."

"No need, Rachel just started kindergarten here, taking leave doesn’t seem appropriate..."

"It’s fine."

"Let’s go on the weekend!"

"But Aunt Evelyn has invited several times already..."

At that moment, Alice got off Chester’s lap, walked to the wardrobe, and took out a clean bathrobe for Chester, saying, "I don’t want to go."

Chester sat at the edge of the bed, his handsome brows slightly furrowed, "Why?"

Alice pretended to lower her head to tidy Chester’s bathrobe, "I just don’t want to go."

Chester stood up, walked to Alice, gently hugging her, "What’s wrong?"

"I just don’t want to go." Alice brushed past Chester, her tone a bit impatient, plopping down on the bed.

Chester stood there, a slight displeasure in his brow, speaking warmly, "Why the sudden tantrum? If you don’t want to go, I’ll call Aunt Evelyn tomorrow."

Realizing her reaction was a bit excessive, Alice wanted to apologize to Chester but for some reason, she didn’t want to say it.

Chester also realized his earlier reproach was somewhat inappropriate. He came before Alice, crouched down, and covered her cold cheeks with his warm palms, "What’s wrong, sweetheart, did something happen?"

She slowly lifted her eyes, meeting his tender gaze, the next second, she leaned against his shoulder, slowly uttering, "Sorry, I didn’t mean to lose my temper..."

Chester pulled her back, gently holding her apologetic little face, "We’ve been in New York for over a week, out of courtesy, we should go see Aunt Evelyn."
