Chapter 1187: Chapter 621: Extra Story: The Big Bad Wolf’s Overbearing Confession 2_2

She looked as innocent as a prey tamed by a hunter. He chuckled softly and released her.

She immediately moved away from his lap, turned around, and tried to open the car door. Unfortunately, the door was locked tightly, and no matter how hard she tried, it was to no avail.

He seemed to anticipate her reaction, leisurely watching her try every means to escape, a smile playing at the corner of his mouth.

When she realized the car door wouldn’t open no matter what, she turned her head and coldly stared at him. "Let me go."

He loosened his tie, leaned back in his seat, and looked at her lazily yet gently, "I told you I wanted to start over with you, so from this moment on, I won’t let you leave."

Alice replied indifferently, "Chester, I don’t know what madness has possessed you, but I can’t start over with you."

Chester didn’t care about Alice’s cold reaction; he remained calm and composed, "I just need ten minutes of your time to explain some things to you."

Alice turned her face to the side, speaking coldly, "There’s nothing worth discussing between us."

"I don’t think so," Chester hooked Alice’s chin and turned her face back to him. He gazed deeply into her clear eyes, "I believe you’ll be willing to hear my explanation."

Alice looked at Chester emotionlessly, "I don’t care."

"You will care..." Chester’s gaze turned profound, like a vortex in the deep sea, drawing her in. His voice slightly hoarse, "Because I know there’s still a place for me in your heart."

A hint of stagger appeared in Alice’s gaze, though her cold expression barely changed.

At this moment, the car stopped.

Alice noticed they were at a private airport.

For someone like him, having a private airport wherever he went wasn’t surprising.

He got out of the car, saying, "Let’s talk..."

At this moment, Alice was unwilling to get out, as she didn’t want to talk to him. At this empty private airport, she felt small, like an ant that could be crushed at any moment.

Keith Antony opened the car door on her side and approached her, saying, "If you don’t come down, I’ll have to get back in and ’have a talk’ with you."

"You..."

He smiled faintly.

Alice stepped out of the car with a cold face.

The breeze blew through his wild, unruly black hair, accentuating his handsome features. His proudly standing figure exuded an inherent and commanding aura of sovereignty.

The driver drove away, and Keith Antony led everyone to retreat.

It seemed that the whole world had only the two of them left...

She spoke without warmth, "I’ve already said, there is nothing between us. If you don’t let me go, I assure you, I’ll call the police after sex."

Alice glanced back at him, but he responded with a smile, "Give me ten minutes."

"I have nothing to talk to you about." She faced his smile with indifference.

His eyes lowered, becoming deep and somber, "I believe that that’s not what you truly mean," he murmured.

"Chester, I don’t know what drove you to suddenly find me, but there’s nothing left for us to discuss. Please, don’t waste your time and mine." Saying this coldly, Alice turned to leave, despite the remote airport seemingly lacking any means of transportation for her departure.

Chester grasped her arm, "I know the reason you’re angry. Give me ten minutes; I just need you to calm down and listen. There’s been a misunderstanding between us."

Alice froze, staring coldly at the vast airport, aware if he cut her off from contacting anyone, she couldn’t leave. Her steps came to a halt.

Chester moved in front of her, gazing deeply at her wandering eyes, "Alice, I know you’re angry because I didn’t come to find you this past year, right?"

Alice looked plainly ahead, "You’re wrong, I’m not angry." People naturally maintain distance and indifference toward those they don’t care about, just as she does toward him now.

"Don’t argue with me; listen to me first." He gazed at her deeply, his eyes gentle.

She continued looking into the distance.

He began softly, "Alice, actually, a month after my surgery, I went to Paris to find you..."

She had to admit that even though she didn’t care anymore, his words still surprised her.

He noticed the faintly detectable flicker of emotion in her eyes and continued, "That day I brought flowers and gifts I prepared for you. I drove to the villa entrance, ready to get out of the car, but then I saw Claud Laurence’s car parked outside the villa gate." His voice was hoarse and sorrowful, "Inside the car, you turned away from me, sitting on his lap, kissing him... In the dim light, you were entangled in the narrow car space."

A trace of shock finally appeared on Alice’s calm, unruffled face.

He spoke with a gloomy tone, "I admit, it was then that I realized how much I cared for you. So, upon seeing you with him, I held onto my pride and drove away... I stayed in Paris for a few days. I wanted to find you, but whenever I thought of you entwined with Claud Laurence, I couldn’t contain my anger. I always thought you belonged to me, completely and solely to me. I never imagined there would come a day when you truly chose someone else. That was the first time I felt intense jealousy, the first time I felt such heartache, and the first time I felt such regret... I spent a night in the hotel drunk, and when I woke up the next day, my mind was much clearer. I then realized that I had no right to be angry with you, because it was I who pushed you away with cruelty and heartlessness, forcing you to leave my world completely. Now, with you choosing someone else, I have no right to be angry..."

"I left Paris and returned to T City, and suddenly my world turned gray. Everywhere I went, I seemed to think of you, especially in the villa in T City, every corner echoed your voice, held memories of us both... I began to realize, unknowingly, you had already become embedded in my life, an irreplaceable part of it. I simply can’t live without you..."

"I was obsessively thinking about you, so I sent someone to investigate your situation in Paris. My subordinate reported that you were doing well. You had a new life and your relationship with Claud Laurence deepened... Suddenly, I became cowardly, I was afraid to find you because I feared seeing you happy, and I knew I had no right to find you and no right to destroy your happiness. However, I still couldn’t help but make a trip to Paris; outside ’Tench’s’ gate, I sat in the car watching you from afar, talking and laughing with your subordinates as you walked out of the company. You seemed so at ease and peaceful... ultimately, I lacked the courage to meet you, so I went to see Claud Laurence. He admitted that you two were already together..."
