Chapter 1162: Chapter 609: Extra Story: Sisi Comes Knocking (Part 1)

Alice Robinson sat with the others, but positioned herself furthest from Chester Robinson, maintaining a faintly elegant smile.

What was supposed to be a dinner for two truly turned into a mini business summit.

Chester Robinson did not coldly ignore the friends Alice brought along. When they inquired about business matters, he always responded to them gracefully, seemingly intent on developing something in Paris.

Alice actively engaged in the business conversations, as if her acquaintance with Mr. Robinson was a mere introduction. At times, she even asked Chester questions about business just like everyone else.

His handsome, gentle smile enchanted all the women present.

Seeing they were enjoying the conversation, Alice found an excuse to head to the restroom.

As she stood up, she noticed Chester was still happily chatting with several attractive women.

Upon exiting the restroom, she initially intended to get some fresh air on the balcony, but as she turned toward it, she unexpectedly saw Chester.

His gray suit was tailored perfectly to accentuate his slender form. He leaned lazily against a low cabinet in the corridor, arms crossed, looking at her as if he had been waiting there.

Feeling a bit nervous, her heart pounded rapidly.

He raised an eyebrow and looked at her coolly, "Even if you didn’t want to have dinner with me, there’s no need to bring so many extra people."

Alice’s lips turned pale; at this moment, she wanted to give him a natural smile but couldn’t manage it.

He approached her, his eyes deeply staring into hers.

She finally forced a smile, "Mr. Robinson, you aren’t upset that I brought friends tonight, are you?"

Chester let out a long sigh, as if he was somewhat helpless regarding her.

She spoke in a determined tone, "I genuinely think, if Mr. Robinson wants to expand in Paris, doing business with the companies behind these women would greatly benefit your business ambitions."

Chester then laughed.

Alice showed a puzzled expression, "Mr. Robinson, you..."

Just then, Chester returned to his icy demeanor, turned around, and indifferently said, "Let’s go back, I will take you."

Alice did not leave with Chester; she returned to the restaurant.

The restaurant was already empty, and the friends she brought had all left.

She called Tracy.

Tracy said they had already discussed some cooperation with Chester; because Chester had something urgent, he had to leave first. So, they followed suit and left too. They tried calling her, but because she was in the restroom with poor signal, she didn’t receive the calls.

Only then did Alice breathe a sigh of relief, put her phone away in her bag, and headed towards the elevator.

Alice did not expect Chester to be waiting for her.

His car was parked right outside the hotel entrance, and the driver had already stepped out to open the car door for her.

She hadn’t brought a driver that night because the family driver knew Chester, and she didn’t want complications in her relationship with Chester.

Alice walked over and smiled at Chester sitting inside, "Mr. Robinson, thank you for your kindness. Someone is coming to pick me up, so you don’t need to trouble yourself."

Chester’s face turned very unpleasant, cold, and grim, as he instructed the driver, "Drive."

The driver dared not disobey Chester’s orders, closing the door, jumping into the driver’s seat, and driving away.

Watching the car disappear into the distance, Alice felt slightly lost.

Much later, when she prepared to hail a taxi, a black Bentley stopped beside her.

Claud Laurence stepped out of the car.

Alice was taken aback, "Claud?"

Alice didn’t know that Chester’s car returned around another street shortly after driving off, ending up behind her.

With a murky gaze, he coldly watched Alice enter Claud’s car ahead.

Claud held her shoulders as she got into the car.

Until Claud’s car drove far away, the surrounding silence was eerie without a sound, when the driver softly asked, "Mr. Robinson, return to the hotel?"

Inside the car, it was exceptionally quiet.

Claud glanced at Alice, whose head was resting against the seatback, and asked, "What’s wrong? Are you very tired?"

Alice adjusted her posture and shook her head, "By the way, why did you come?"

"I called Andie to ask about your whereabouts, she said you were at the Pampas Hotel."

"I’m sorry..."

"Why are you saying so?"

Alice raised her gaze to regard Claud’s handsome profile in the dim light inside the car, her voice slightly husky, "When you called me, I didn’t tell you it was Chester who invited me."
