Chapter 1649: Chapter 829: Jungle Search (2)

Lin Beichen looked at everyone.

"Yes!"

Lin Beichen walked to the front of his team.

"Chen Lin, this tactic of splitting up the team is quite ruthless. You better think carefully; under these circumstances, the consequences might be unimaginable, you know."

"I’m just re-organizing the team, not necessarily splitting them up. Gathering capable individuals to form a small special task force, and having multiple task forces is essentially the same. Please rest assured, sir, I will definitely complete the mission successfully this time."

Lin Beichen nodded with satisfaction.

"I believe you will surely complete the mission, and in a high-profile way. I’m confident of this, go ahead and do it, I believe you can take the championship."

"Yes!"

The farewell period of half an hour basically ended. Watching these teams depart, the instructors had mixed feelings.

"We should head back too. From now on, we can drink, have tea, and eat."

Chen Lin led the team to the predetermined location.

The competition officially kicked off.

Initially, the two teams would depart from different locations, so naturally, they couldn’t meet at the start and had to proceed by exploring.

In this competition, apart from the two teams confronting each other, there were also some local armed groups involved, which were actually played by invited militia.

However, whether these militia were friend or foe all depended on their own performance.

"This scene is so realistic!" Mohammed was greatly shocked upon seeing it, he had never witnessed such a grand scene in his life.

"Alright! We need to do this now; our team can’t all bunch together, otherwise the target is too big and easily discovered. We must disperse the team, keeping in contact via radio or other equipment, but the distance between each other shouldn’t exceed this limit."

Chen Lin understood that from now on, guerrilla tactics were necessary to maximize preserving strength.

"Remember, at any time, you have to unite the local populace and strive to make them serve our purpose. Only then can we in the shortest time get their greatest support."

"Yes!"

Thus, these teams immediately dispersed, moving through the jungle in small squad formations.

Chen Lin chose to follow one squad, while Yu Feng chose another. After all, they were each part of a team, so if the command system encountered a problem, the other could swiftly take over.

The reconnaissance team was responsible for pushing forward, and their mission was harder.

"Captain, actually we discussed last night, their position is, if an issue arises, do not fire at the first instance unless faced with small enemy factions which can be eliminated."

"I understand!"

This captain was quite capable in fact, just long neglected studying tactics, lacking in combat experience.

Now, this was only the beginning, while the enemy opted for large troop searching advancement, believing dispersed action was prone to failure.

Sure enough, a situation occurred. A reconnaissance team arrived at a village, an ancient local settlement.

Upon seeing them, the villagers were shocked, immediately gathering together.

"Don’t be afraid! We are not Blue Army, we are Red Army."

"Red Army?"

However, regardless of Red or Blue Army, the villagers appeared very tense; in their eyes, soldiers coming in generally spelled trouble.

"Seems they still have misunderstandings about us, don’t rush, we must do a good job of public relations."

So, two soldiers temporarily left the team, handing their guns to their comrades.

"Dear villagers, rest assured, we are just passing through, with no ill intent, please don’t worry."

However, the villagers simply didn’t believe them. Forced by the situation, the soldiers had no choice but to take out all their food, placing it before everyone.

These people were truly poor and might indeed have some trouble, yet some children weren’t tense.

One soldier squatted down and handed a candy to a child.

"Kid, don’t be afraid, we’re not bad guys."

The villagers looked at each other, at a loss. At that moment, a mother rushed forward, pushed the soldier away, hugging the child and ran.

The child cried out in fear, the candy fell to the ground.

"Sigh!"

The soldier had no choice but to leave three pieces of candy at the original spot and leave helplessly. This action puzzled the villagers.

"Are you really not going to harm us? This is not normal, usually soldiers come here to make trouble in various ways."

"Sorry, why would we harm you? We’re just completing a task, passing through your village."

The soldier quickly glanced back at his people.

"Listen up, carry your guns behind your backs, do not discharge your weapons. Anyone who fires at civilians will be immediately expelled!"

"Yes!"

Facing civilians, all soldiers carried their guns behind their backs, maintaining a safe distance.

Just then, a few people slowly noticed the sincerity of the soldiers, and quickly brought out a pile of stuff from home.

"Dear Madam, we’re just passing, can’t take your things, it’s our discipline."

"Ah? So what exactly are you doing here in our village? Really just passing through?"

"Yes! Look, we all wear red scarves; we’re Red Army, different from others, understand?"

This dear grandma was half convinced, half doubtful, gazing at them.

Soon enough, this group indeed safely passed through the village. Subsequently, the news spread like wildfire; each village started to circulate the word about the red team.

Thus, their mission accomplished successfully.

"Haha!" Francis couldn’t help laughing.

"You all love playing these clever tricks; in the end, warfare relies on tactical proficiency. Doing all these flashy things every day, can these civilians who can’t even handle a chicken really help you much?"

Francis always valued the tactical level of things.

"Maybe we lack in certain areas, but diligence can overcome flaws; this is an excellent tradition of our army. Sorry, this mission went international as well, haha." Lin Beichen remained calm and composed, aware of the profound impact this had on the overall battlefield.

The Blue Army also gradually entered the village, but did nothing, choosing to simply pass through, giving no one any chance.

Sure enough, in terms of reputation, polarization quickly emerged. Wherever the Blue Army went, villagers stayed in their homes, afraid to venture out; whereas where the Red Army passed, villagers warmly greeted.

As a result, the Red Army rather had to find ways to decline the villagers’ hospitality, impacting their advance speed to some extent. Yet, they also found some countermeasures during this process.

After a day of exploration, they were basically clear about the areas they were responsible for.

"Everyone, I believe you understand the current situation. Tonight we’ll rest in a village, but remember, do not enter any civilian’s homes; rest on the street, got my meaning?"

"Yes!"

The next morning, one of the squads resting in the village surprised the villagers. These soldiers actually laid on the ground resting, none entering the village to disturb.

"Oh my, these are all kids, how can they sleep on the floor?"

The villagers started feeling pity for the soldiers, but military commands were ironclad, everyone understood this well.

Facing such circumstances, no one said much more, everything had to proceed practically.

"Alright! Basically, it’s like this now, we need not worry any longer."

After these public relations efforts, the Red Army’s image in everyone’s minds was completely different.

"Can you hear me? We’ve already detected the Blue Army’s path; if not mistaken, we’ll meet them soon. Now everyone must prepare for battle."

A word from the reconnaissance captain put three teams immediately into combat mode.

However, the current situation remained unchanged.

"So they chose to advance as large troops, then aren’t these people just walking targets? But how do we take down one or two from among them?"

Chen Lin began to ponder this issue. The enemy advanced in groups, while they acted dispersedly; it seemed only guerrilla tactics could respond effectively.
