Chapter 1593: Chapter 800: Special Forces Instructor! (Part 2)

Le Tian still thinks of Huaxia as a "martial arts capital," where everyone knows a bit of martial arts.

This is actually because people abroad have been too influenced by film and television.

Just like how we Huaxia people always think foreigners can all carry guns.

"So, old classmate, now that you’re back in Huaxia, with nothing much to do, what are you planning to do next?"

"Knowing you, I bet you won’t be able to sit around for long?"

Chen Bin looked at Lin Beichen and asked with a smile, seeming to ponder what task he could assign to Lin Beichen.

Lin Beichen hurriedly said, "I came back this time just to have a proper rest. Last time, I hadn’t rested enough before your call whisked me away."

"Alright then, I’ll chat with you when you’re free again." Chen Bin knew Lin Beichen had just returned, and scheduling a task immediately would seem too much like taking advantage of him or ordering him around.

After all, he wasn’t Lin Beichen’s boss, and Lin Beichen’s current status was quite unique—no one could order him around.

"Okay, you better head home soon. I know if you don’t, your wife will call you again," Lin Beichen joked with a smile.

He knew Chen Bin had a wife worried about him at home.

"Hmm." Chen Bin took a few quick bites of food, then got up and left.

"I’ve paid for the meal, so don’t you guys pay again." After saying this last sentence, Chen Bin left the private room.

The room suddenly fell silent. Red-haired Le Tian didn’t know how to start a conversation with Lin Beichen, or rather, he didn’t dare talk aimlessly.

After all, his relationship with Lin Beichen wasn’t that close, and he’d even been beaten by Lin Beichen once before.

"Now that you’re in Huaxia, you don’t have to follow me all the time. Go wherever you want." Lin Beichen took a few bites and planned to head home.

"Could I get your contact info?" Le Tian cautiously asked.

Lin Beichen thought it was just a phone number, so he gave it to him without hesitation.

After all, he could decide whether to answer the call or not.

After exchanging numbers, Lin Beichen parted ways with Red-haired Le Tian.

In B City, Lin Beichen had his own house.

He hailed a taxi, gave the address, and soon he arrived at his long-lost home.

The house remained as it was when he left, except for some added dust.

Luckily, Lin Beichen had only been away for a month or two, so he could stay without cleaning for now.

Lin Beichen planned to tidy up the next morning.

Over the next few days, Lin Beichen spent his time exercising, resting, and playing on his phone, living quite leisurely.

Gone were the high-stakes days of the mercenary corps, living on the edge.

Now, his life was incredibly relaxed.

Living in Huaxia meant he didn’t have to worry about someone suddenly robbing him at gunpoint, threatening his life.

However, only after half a month of this comfortable lifestyle did Lin Beichen start to feel a bit bored and restless.

So, he picked up his phone to call his old classmate, Chen Bin, to check if he had anything fun to do.

The moment the call connected, Chen Bin’s familiar voice came through: "Hey, old classmate, bored already?"

"Only half a month? I thought you’d last a month before contacting me. Didn’t expect you’d reach out so soon."

Lin Beichen, listening, felt a bit embarrassed. Previously, when he had just returned from the Golden Triangle, Chen Bin had seemed intent on arranging something for him, but he had turned it down.

Who’d have thought, not long after, he would proactively reach out to Chen Bin.

"Come on, tell me what tasks are lined up." Lin Beichen didn’t beat around the bush, speaking his mind directly.

Chen Bin understood Lin Beichen’s character very well, so he said, "This time, there’s no urgent task, but there’s something quite interesting."

"It’s a special forces instructor position. Interested?"

"I heard about it from others. If you’re interested, I could recommend you for a try."

Originally, Lin Beichen was thinking of telling Chen Bin not to line up exhausting and demanding tasks, the ones he couldn’t casually pause, but Chen Bin seemed to know him well.

The special forces instructor gig sounded pretty intriguing, and it wouldn’t be too tiring, plus he could leave whenever he wanted.

"Sounds good, when can you set it up for me?" Lin Beichen asked eagerly, feeling bored out of his mind these past few days.

"Don’t rush, old classmate. Becoming a special forces instructor requires certain prerequisites and skills."

"But of course, your credentials are solid."

Chen Bin assured him confidently.

Yet Lin Beichen replied irritably, "What, you think I can’t meet the skills requirement?"

Chen Bin smiled mysteriously, "Haha, of course I trust your abilities. It’s just... many people are interested in the special forces instructor role, and all of them have quite commendable skills and remarkable experiences."

"When the time comes, the selection’s up to you."

Well, of course it’s up to me; how could you help with it? Lin Beichen thought, smiling outwardly, not taking Chen Bin’s words to heart. He felt if his skills couldn’t secure him the special forces instructor position, then likely no one else could, either.

His confidence in his abilities wasn’t arrogance.

Arrogance comes from ignorance, thinking oneself invincible and looking down on others. But having encountered numerous tough foes and skilled individuals, remaining self-assured meant holding absolute confidence in oneself.

"Alright, I’ve got it. Arrange it for me quickly." Lin Beichen said eagerly, already excited to participate in this interesting endeavor.

"Sure, I’ll pick you up when the time comes. But if your application doesn’t succeed, don’t be dismayed, I’ll find something else for you to do."

Lin Beichen hadn’t anticipated Chen Bin pre-emptively cautioning him and preparing a backup plan before he even attended the interview.

Was this application really that challenging?

Soon, a car arrived at Lin Beichen’s doorstep.

Chen Bin himself didn’t come; instead, he sent one of his guys.

Lin Beichen understood his old classmate Chen Bin had done pretty well for himself, having some underlings was par for the course.

"Brother Lin, Brother Chen has some matters to attend to, he asked me to bring you here and return right after."

"Brother Chen already submitted your paperwork, just head on in."

After delivering Lin Beichen to the destination, the driver left after a few instructions.

Lin Beichen nodded and proceeded towards the massive military base in front of him.

He wasn’t a child; obviously, he didn’t need someone to accompany him all the time.

Surrounding the military base was a circle of electrified iron fences, with only a barrier gate wide enough for two cars.

Lin Beichen walked up to the gate, and immediately someone from the security room came out to question him, "Ahead is a military base, no unauthorized visits."

"I’m here for the Dragon Annihilation Special Forces instructor selection."

Lin Beichen said directly, knowing Chen Bin had arranged things for him, so there should be no issues.

The guard appeared to be in his fifties or sixties, with quite a bit of grey hair, dressed in camouflage. Despite his elderly appearance, his eyes were sharp, definitely not an ordinary person.

At this moment, seeing Lin Beichen declaring himself a candidate for the Dragon Annihilation Special Forces instructor role, the guard’s eyes flashed with displeasure.

He thought Lin Beichen was deceiving him.

How could someone so young be a candidate for an instructor, especially since Dragon Annihilation Special Forces was the most elite unit in their Seventh District?

"Although our Seventh District is indeed selecting special forces instructors, due diligence is necessary. Can’t let just anyone through."

"What’s your name, and how did you arrive here?"

"What’s your identity?"
