Chapter 948 - Send Me To My Death?
Chapter 948: Send Me To My Death?
Wang Teng got up and walked out of the room when Great Qian Planet was in sight. Di Qi, Olivia, and the others went out too and came to the lobby. Although they could see the Great Qian Planet, they were still far away from it.
On the periphery of the Great Qian Planet, there was a huge space station that was surrounded by large numbers of battlecraft marked with the military emblem of the Great Qian Empire.
Di Qi glanced at Wang Teng and explained, “This is Great Qian Planet’s defense force. Our spacecraft will have to go through checks before it can land at the nearby satellite port. Afterward, we will take transport to enter the Great Qian Planet via the orbit.”
“It’s so troublesome!” Wang Teng said in surprise.
“After all, it is the Great Qian Planet. Spacecraft can’t enter. Once it enters the atmosphere, it will be engaged by destructive firepower within ten thousand meters. A cosmos-level spacecraft would be shattered into pieces with just a single blow.” Wu Tai smiled.
Wang Teng sucked in a breath of cold air. A cosmos-level spacecraft destroying in just a single blow?!
A spacecraft that Round Ball had praised so much was just a measly thing on the Great Qian Planet.
As if it knew what Wang Teng was thinking about, Round Ball lambasted, “What do you think this place is? This is the Great Qian Planet, the base of a high-tier civilization. It’s not just cosmos-level spacecraft; even heaven-level and universe-level spacecraft wouldn’t even think about getting close.”
Wang Teng shrugged and accepted what it had said. Once again, he learned more things about the Great Qian Empire.
Soon, a battlecraft flew over from the space station and linked up with their spacecraft.
Several soldiers donned in the Great Qian Empire’s black military uniforms entered the spacecraft, led by a cosmos-stage martial warrior. Once he saw Di Qi and Wu Tai, he laughed. “I was wondering who it was. Turns out it’s the two of you.”
“Long time no see, Fan Huaqing!” Di Qi said.
It was clear that they knew each other. The spacecraft checks were quickly completed, and there were no issues.
......After the spacecraft was released, it landed at the port of Great Qian Satellite One. A few people got off the spacecraft.
Great Qian Satellite One was not suitable for survival. Special means were utilized to simulate the ecological environment and allow for people to stay here temporarily. It was sufficient for it to function as a transfer station.
Wang Teng looked around curiously. Although the satellite was barren, the surroundings were covered with metal, and it looked like a scene from a sci-fi movie. The ground, public districts, roads… They were all constructed from some kind of metal.
“Let’s go!” Di Qi called, “We’ll go directly to the orbit station. It will take less than ten minutes for us to reach the Great Qian Planet.”
Wang Teng nodded and followed him.
To him, everything here was novel. Fortunately, he had met Di Qi and the others in advance and saved himself much trouble.
The group walked out of the docks and arrived at a place that looked like a train station. A long path extended out into the space without any end in sight.
Wang Teng and the others waited for a while before an orbital train came speeding over at a speed almost comparable to that of a spacecraft. However, as it approached them, it stopped abruptly but wasn’t affected by any inertia. There were no piercing braking sounds caused by any friction.
The doors opened automatically, and people alighted. After they had cleared the train, the ones waiting in the station then boarded the train one after another.
After waiting for ten minutes, it was time to depart. The orbital train started up again and headed toward the Great Qian Planet.
Wang Teng sat on the train and gazed into outer space through the windows. The orbit path was shrouded by an invisible layer of protective shield. They could see the scenery of the universe from inside the train.
He had only seen a scene like that in the movies.
The extent of the development of civilization in the universe was truly amazing. Who knew when Earth would be able to achieve something like this?
The train path connected Great Qian Satellite One to the Great Qian Planet. However, the satellite orbited around the planet while the planet was also orbiting. How was the orbital path able to maintain such a motion?
Wang Teng was puzzled.
After ten minutes, the orbital train finally stopped.
“We’re here!” Di Qi stood up and stretched his back.
Wang Teng and the others got off the train and followed the crowd out of the train station. A lively scene then greeted them.
Outside the station, the crowds were bustling and distinctive buildings stood tall. It was a bizarre experience for Wang Teng. He felt like he had come to a whole new world.
“Welcome to the Great Qian Planet!” Di Qi turned and smiled at him.
Wang Teng also smiled.
“Are you heading directly to Baron Nangong’s residence next or to my place first?” Di Qi asked.
“Baron Nangong!” Wu Tai heard Di Qi’s words and was stunned. He then asked with a strange look, “Is it that baron?”
“That’s right.” Di Qi nodded.
Wu Tai couldn’t help but look at Wang Teng. He didn’t expect that there was a connection between him and that missing baron. However, he didn’t probe further.
Back then, there was something fishy behind the baron’s disappearance and many people were involved. After all, he and Wang Teng were only acquaintances. It wasn’t good for him to get to the bottom of it.
“I’m sorry to have troubled you for so long. I’ll just go there myself,” Wang Teng said.
“Baron Nangong’s matter involved a lot of people. Coming to the Great Qian Planet to bring it up is equivalent to overturning an old case. I don’t know if it’s a blessing or a curse.” Di Qi thought about it and sent his contact information to Wang Teng’s wristwatch. “If you have any trouble, you can send me a message. That person will definitely give some face to the Cavendish family.
“Another word of caution. That person’s strength has far surpassed that of Baron Nangong, reaching the heaven stage as early as thirty thousand years ago!”
“Heaven stage!” Wang Teng frowned.
This development was far beyond his expectations. He still had the confidence to deal with a cosmos-stage martial warrior. However, a heaven-stage martial warrior was beyond his ability.
“How is that possible?” Round Ball shouted in disbelief when it heard the news. “Back then, that brat would have been lucky to reach the cosmos stage with his talent. It’s impossible for him to reach the heaven stage!”
“Nothing is impossible. More than a million years have passed. Anything can happen.” Wang Teng quickly accepted this outcome. It was Di Qi’s kind reminder. He wouldn’t deceive him.
Moreover, he didn’t find it difficult to reach the heaven stage. He would be a loser if he didn’t reach the heaven stage after a million years of cultivation.
“But… it’s the heaven stage. You can’t possibly deal with that now,” Round Ball said in a dejected and depressed tone.
“Weren’t you the one who encouraged me to come to the Great Qian Planet? Why are you afraid now?” Wang Teng smiled faintly.
“That’s because I didn’t know that he had reached the heaven stage. If I knew, I wouldn’t send you to your death.”
“Send me to my death?” Wang Teng chuckled. “Don’t look down on me. A heaven-stage martial warrior doesn’t scare me.”
