Chapter 82: Making a Mess

Franklin looked at Qian Jin as he was even more stunned this time. “Number one blacksmith shop in Oakland? Really? Although Lucas is only a Level 2 Blacksmith, he has operated in Oakland for many years, and he has a deep connection with the Blacksmith Union in the State Capital. If we go this boldly…”

“Relax, trust me.” Qian Jin bent his back and tapped Franklin’s lower back as he said quietly, “Franklin, let me tell you a secret. Actually, I’m a real Forge Master…”

“What?”

Franklin was so surprised that he almost tripped and fell on his head. He calmed himself down a little and stared at Qian Jin’s smiling face.

“Forge Master! The Forge Master that numerous blacksmiths worshipped? With this title and status, even the mayor would pay him a lot of respect and give him a lot of special treatment! It was rumored that even the most talented blacksmith in the Blacksmith Union would be middle-aged when he or she became a Forge Master. Even great blacksmiths would have a full head of white hair and a white beard by the time they achieved the level of Forge Master! But Qian Jin… how young is he?” Franklin screamed in his mind.

“Let’s go.” Qian Jin dragged Franklin as they traveled through several streets and arrived in front of Lucas’ Blacksmith Shop.

Compared to Franklin’s Blacksmith Shop, Lucas’ Blacksmith Shop wasn’t simply decorated in a much more attractive manner; it also occupied a much larger area. Franklin’s Blacksmith Shop couldn’t even be compared with Lucas’ shop.

Above the tall and gigantic door, there was a big seal carved out of wood. It was the symbol of a huge forging hammer. Just from the look of it, it gave off the feeling as if it was the king of all blacksmiths in Oakland.

It was about five times the size of Franklin’s Blacksmith Shop. This made Franklin ashamed of himself as he stood in front of it. There were always people coming in and out of the shop; the foot traffic that Lucas’ Blacksmith Shop was getting was completely out of Franklin’s league.

“Qian Jin… we don’t have to…” Franklin pulled on Qian Jin’s wrist as he said, “Here… we really…”

“Franklin, just listen to me.” Qian Jin countered Franklin by grabbed onto Franklin’ wrist instead. He walked into the shop as he said, “Did you forget how arrogant he was at our blacksmith shop? Since Lucas gave me such a big present that night, I will have to return the favor today! He wants to take my life, so he must be prepared for my revenge! I will smash and knock over your shop today, and I will kill your henchmen later to eliminate all threats.”

“He wants to take your life?”

“Franklin, just follow behind me.”

In the wide and spacious demonstrating and selling hall, Lucas sat on a chair that wasn’t too far away from the counters. He was drinking tea, unlike Franklin who was usually in the workshop at the back forging. Today, Lucas wasn’t that happy. When Qian Jin walked into the front store, he was frowning and concentrating on thinking about something, as if something was really bothering him.

“Do you need anything, sir?”

A pretty saleswoman quickly approached Qian Jin with a quick jog. When she got to Qian Jin, she bowed to greet him. It was obvious that the professionalism of the salespeople and the customer service at Lucas’ Blacksmith Shop was much better than Franklin’s Blacksmith Shop.

“Humph, so this is the style that Lucas likes.”

Franklin glanced at Lucas who was sitting not far away disdainfully. Franklin was already a Level 3 Blacksmith; with Qian Jin beside him, his confidence increased a lot after he entered the room.

“What do I need?” Qian Jin raised his voice intentionally. He said with a voice that everyone in the hall could hear, “Give me the hardest, best weapon you guys have! I only want the best!”

A few adventurers shifted their attention onto Qian Jin after they heard Qian Jin shout. They also subconsciously moved closer to Qian Jin; they wanted to see why this young man was so sharp and arrogant.

Lucas’s frowning expression suddenly relaxed. A surprised expression took over as he looked at Qian Jin, but his eyebrows soon gathered together again. Then his face relaxed completely, and a bright smile popped up on his face.

“Eh? Aren’t these people from Franklin’s Blacksmith Shop?” Lucas laughed as he got up and slowly walked towards Qian Jin. He also raised his voice, “The best weapon? What? Did your Franklin Blacksmith Shop take an order that you guys can’t complete, so you have to purchase one from our blacksmith shop? The number one blacksmith shop in Oakland?”

Different expressions appeared on the adventurers and Lucas’ employees’ faces. Some of them believed what Lucas’ said, but some of them knew that the situation wasn’t that simple by just looking at Qian Jin’s arrogant attitude. “It is obvious that this young man is here to make some trouble,” they thought.

Qian Jin shrugged his shoulders, but didn’t make any response. With his hands on the Zhanmadao on his back, he slowly walked around the hall. He picked up weapons from the weapon rack frequently and sneered as he curled his lips. “What kind of weapons are these? How dare you call yourself the number one blacksmith shop in Oakland with these kinds of weapons! Take a look at this blade; you probably can’t even kill a chicken with it. Even if you want to cheat and fool people, you can’t be this bold.”

Lucas’ slightly frowned. He was so mad that he started chuckling. He took the battle blade from Qian Jin and suddenly chopped down at a wooden weapon rack without saying anything.

Bam! With one chop, the weapon rack that was about an inch thick couldn’t deal with the attack from this battle blade, and it was chopped in half cleanly.

“Damn!”

Two adventurers immediately shouted out to compliment what they were seeing. They were all people who fought and risked their lives for a living; they could tell if a weapon was good or not by just looking at it.

“This blade…” Lucas stared at Qian Jin with a gloomy expression on his face as he said, “Probably won’t have a hard time killing you.”

Qian Jin lightly knocked the body of the battle blade that was in Lucas’ hand with the backside of his finger. “Is this the best weapon you have?” he asked.

Lucas lightly laughed as he shook his head, “Of course not. You want to see the best weapon that we have at Lucas’ Blacksmith Shop? Even if you sold your entire Franklin’s Blacksmith Shop, you still couldn’t afford it. Why bother?”

The noises and the slight chaos in the blacksmith shop had attracted the attention of a lot of pedestrians who were walking by. In a short amount of time, a crowd had formed at the entrance of the hall, and they were all murmuring and chatting amongst themselves.

“What are these people from Franklin’s Blacksmith Shop doing here?”

“Yeah! How dare they create trouble here at Lucas’ Blacksmith Shop with the little power and strength they have?”

“I heard that Lucas had made a mess and created trouble at Franklin’s Blacksmith Shop not too long ago…”

“They still shouldn’t come here, though. They are trying to shame themselves voluntarily.”

Qian Jin ignored all the murmurs coming from the crowd. He tapped Franklin, who was standing beside him nervously, as he smiled and looked at Lucas. “If I really want to see it, under what circumstances would Mr. Lucas allow me to do so?”

“Simple!” Lucas suddenly raised his voice and pointed out three fingers. “There are three methods! First, you have to show me a sufficient amount of money!”

“Sorry, I don’t have it right now,” Qian Jin said as he shrugged his shoulders.

“Boo!” This made the crowd react negatively.

“Second, you just insulted my work, so you should apologize to me first, and then beg me!”

“I didn’t insult your work.” Qian Jin glanced at the battle blade that chopped the wooden rack in half as he said, “By saying someone could use it to kill a chicken, I’m already appraising it. Therefore, I don’t need to apologize to you. In terms of begging you, I have no interest in that.”
