Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off
Chapter 820: The Birthday Brawl
Chapter 820: Chapter 820: The Birthday Brawl
She looked toward the three little birthday stars and immediately smiled.
They were dressed beautifully. Their little outfits were made from soft silk and carefully designed specifically for them by Xuan Long.
The clothes were crafted in a way that allowed their beast forms to wear them comfortably, but they could also transform into human form without ruining the fabric.
Xiao Yi was wearing a small golden silk robe. His tiger ears remained on top of his head, and his tiny golden tail swayed proudly behind him. Xiao Er was dressed in a matching robe, looking incredibly cute with his chubby cheeks.
And Xiao San... Xiao San was wearing an emerald-green silk robe, looking remarkably elegant. There was only one problem: he refused to touch the ground. Not even once.
He was currently clinging tightly to a wooden chair like a little koala.
Su Qinglan looked at him helplessly. "Xiao San, you can walk on your own."
"No."
"Why?"
"My clothes." He looked down at his silk robe with complete seriousness. "They will become dirty."
Su Qinglan blinked. "...You’re worried about your clothes?"
Xiao San nodded gravely. "Father Xuan Long made them."
"Yes."
"They are precious."
"Yes."
"So I won’t touch the dirt."
Su Qinglan looked at the little snake cub. "Then how are you planning to move around?"
Xiao San reached out his tiny arms toward her. "Mommy can carry me."
"..."
Su Qinglan laughed. "You little rascal."
She leaned down and picked him up. Xiao San immediately looked thoroughly satisfied, leaning his head against her shoulder. "See?"
"I see."
Meanwhile, Xiao Yi and Xiao Er were having a completely different kind of struggle.
Normally, they loved rolling around on the dirt. They would run, fall, roll, get back up, and roll again.
But today, they were dressed in their beautiful silk robes, and Su Qinglan had warned them repeatedly: Don’t roll on the ground. Don’t crawl through the grass. Don’t jump into the pond. And please don’t fight with the other cubs.
Both cubs had nodded very seriously: Okay, Mommy.
Five minutes later...
Xiao Yi walked past Su Qinglan like a tiny emperor. His chin was raised high, his little hands were tucked behind his back, and his steps were slow, grand, and proud.
Xiao Er followed right beside him, doing the exact same strut.
Su Qinglan stared in disbelief. "What are you two doing?"
Xiao Yi paused and looked at her. "Walking."
"Why are you walking like that?"
He proudly puffed out his chest. "Because I’m handsome."
Xiao Er immediately nodded along. "I’m handsome too."
Su Qinglan covered her mouth to muffle her laughter. "Who taught you two to walk like that?"
The two cubs instantly pointed at each other.
"He did!"
"He did!"
Su Qinglan burst out laughing. "You two..."
Su Qinglan almost fell over laughing.
Nearby, dozens of cubs were already running wild. Some were playing tag, some were munching on fruit snacks, some were chasing one another, and many of them were already transformed into human forms.
Su Qinglan couldn’t help but notice it. She had always known that beast cubs usually transformed into human form around two or three years old.
Some were late bloomers and wouldn’t transform until four or even five. But the cubs in Dragon Beast City seemed to be transforming earlier and earlier. It was almost miraculous.
Su Qinglan glanced toward An Mo, who was standing quietly near the kitchen gate, watching the chaotic crowd with his usual composed posture.
A sudden thought crossed her mind: Could it be because of him?
After all, An Mo had once casually mentioned to her that wherever he stayed, life would prosper. His status in this world was practically equal to a God.
Perhaps his constant presence had blessed the very soil of Dragon Beast City, unknowingly accelerating the cubs’ growth and enabling their early transformations.
She stared at him suspiciously. An Mo immediately noticed her gaze as he walked towards her.
"What happened?"
She offered him a small smile. "Nothing."
An Mo narrowed his eyes slightly. "You are thinking about something."
"No."
Su Qinglan laughed softly. "You’re too suspicious."
An Mo stared at her for a few silent seconds. Then, he walked over and gently brushed a finger against her forehead. "You’ve been staring at me for a long time."
Su Qinglan blinked. "I was just wondering if you secretly blessed all the cubs in the city."
An Mo paused. "...Perhaps."
Su Qinglan’s eyes widened. "Really?"
He looked completely calm and unbothered. "I don’t know."
"Then why did you say ’perhaps’?"
"Because it makes you happy."
"..."
Su Qinglan stared at him before bursting into a light laugh. "You really know how to tease me now."
An Mo’s lips curved upward into a faint, rare smile.
Suddenly, while everyone was busy eating and chatting, a loud, fierce growl echoed across the courtyard.
ROAR!
It wasn’t a very big roar, but it was certainly loud and full of anger.
Su Qinglan paused mid-sentence, her hand hanging in the air. "Now what happened?"
All the elders and beast husbands immediately stopped what they were doing and rushed toward the side of the courtyard to check on the cubs. But the moment they arrived, they were instantly stunned by the sight before them.
Xiao Yi had completely thrown his beautiful golden silk robe aside onto the dirt, not caring at all that it was getting dirty! He was in his full tiger cub form, his fur bristling as he pounced on a fox cub that was actually bigger than him.
BOOM!
The fox cub hit the ground with a soft thud. Xiao Yi pinned the scrawny fox flat against the dirt with his front paws, growling viciously right into his face.
"You scrawny brat!" Xiao Yi roared, his small tail whipping back and forth in rage. "Dare to covet my sister?! See if I don’t beat you into pulp!"
All around them, a large circle of cubs had gathered. Instead of being scared, some of the little ones were actually cheering and clapping their paws.
"Beat him!"
"Go, Xiao Yi!"
