Cleaver Of Sin

Chapter 816: Infinite Silence

Chapter 816: Infinite Silence

The whole world was consumed by infinite silence. It was as though they had all lost all sense of speech, as though their tongues had been cut off. They all stared at the screen in pure overwhelming shock, in awe, in mesmerization, at the impossibility that had been made possible.

They had all thought that the boy... no, the man known as Asher Wargrave had only about a ten to twenty percent chance of surviving.

Yet now, before their very eyes, a Rank 7 Emovira had been decapitated. No... it wasn’t just killed, it was bullied to death.

Due to the unique combination of artifacts, technology, and various abilities, every single person within the world of Crymora who was below the Radiant Wavestar Life Rank was able to follow the battle with their own eyes. They had seen the scale of destruction that erased an area over a fifty-kilometer radius as though it were merely meters, and it left them in disbelief.

They had heard about the destructive power possessed by Rank 6 beings and above. They had seen the power of Rank 6 beings being able to destroy a kilometer with ease, but a Rank 7 scaling that power by over fifty times only made them swallow hard.

It didn’t matter if they were Commoners, it didn’t matter if they were Nobles, Rulers of Empires, Merchants, or Adventurers... they all had only one singular thought at this moment; Could a being of this level actually exist?

Can the world even create a talent like this? Can the Stars even bestow talent like this?

Their hearts could only beat faster and faster as they stared at the handsome man staring down at the destruction before him with a calm smile, as though he had just battled yet another random Rank 6.

To the spectators... this could only be called madness.

Even the commentators who were giving the performance of their lives were also experiencing the shock of their lives, as they floated there stunned, their voices lost as they didn’t scream into the microphones this time. What could they possibly say? No words in any dictionary existed to describe the scene playing before them and before over a hundred billion people across the planet.

They had all been so enamored by Asher’s battle with Xal’Thar that they had forgotten about his battle with over one hundred (100) Emovirae, which was, to a certain extent... understandable.

For the first time... no chants came. No screaming of his name occurred. No stomping of the ground. No deafening roars and carnage. Only true and infinite silence that graveyards could only hope to achieve.

At a Luxury Viewing Box, the one occupied by Azaron, Malrik, and Azazel, even they were in silence, but for different reasons.

Azazel gazed at Asher with a particular expression. Of course, he knew about Asher failing awakening twice. He knew the boy had only two years. And within those two years, the boy could defeat a Rank 7 being... this left him stunned. Azazel had always believed his daughter to be the most talented person on the planet, as she had indeed been born with her Astra Veins activated, which he had to seal in order not to hurt herself as a baby.

And although his daughter could do what Asher had just done, it had to be known that her circumstances were vastly different and unique, and she had years of training other children didn’t have due to those unique circumstances.

’It seems Ari might not be able to win this so easily,’ Azazel thought to himself.

A frown appeared on his face when he remembered the money he had bet. But the next moment, the frown vanished as he had absolute confidence in his daughter. Nobody knew how ridiculous she was more than him. Besides... if Asher could match Ari, then maybe Ari could finally have someone on her level of talent within her generation.

As for Azaron and Malrik, they weren’t surprised at Asher’s combat power. Although they didn’t see him use the unique form he possessed, they didn’t bother dwelling on it, as they could only conclude that the youngest’s combat power had increased once again within the past seven months.

But what left them surprised were the white flames.

They knew of Asher’s elements; after all, they were present during Asher’s entrance exam, but they never knew he had the Fire Affinity. After thinking about it for a while, they both chose to forget about it. After all, even they possessed multiple affinities.

At the Wargrave Luxury Viewing Box, every Wargrave stood on their feet as they could no longer remain seated anymore. Yes, they were Wargraves, but even some things were ridiculous to them.

They had expected Asher to come out with injuries, they had expected him to give it his all, they had expected him to push himself to the absolute limit, they had expected him to pant as he fought, they had expected him to be covered in dirt, blood, and sweat.

They had expected all of this.

But none of it had happened. He had wiped out over one hundred (100) Emovirae, most of them at Rank 5 and many at Rank 6, with ease as though he were fighting some normal animals.

Then they saw him take on the being known as Xal’Thar.

With that first attack from Xal’Thar, they had expected that it was over for the youngest, losing on the first attack from his opponent, which they would have definitely understood.

But everything unfolded in a way none of them thought it would. They couldn’t believe the pure swordsmanship behind the youngest’s rapier. It took many of them years to reach that level, yet it had been done within two years right before their very eyes.

The most shocking part was Asher’s Rapier Technique.

He had created it, and it seemed ridiculously destructive. They couldn’t help but wonder what other techniques he possessed. Even the still-looping afterimage Movement Technique he had displayed left them speechless.

Their blood boiled, their hearts beat wildly, their veins roared within their bodies.

This was the same boy they had once left to rot at the Wargrave Estate. Never talked to him. Never glanced in his direction. Thought of him as a failure and a stain on their name. But now... they all stood on their feet at the display they had witnessed.

A couple of years ago, Malrik had them like this as he displayed a talent none of them had ever seen. But right here and now, Malrik’s talent didn’t seem all that ridiculous compared to what they were witnessing. After all, Malrik couldn’t take on Rank 7 beings just two years after awakening.

The silence shattered as Castle Wargrave, the First Elder, spoke again, "He definitely has some magic dick," his voice cutting through the air, as to him there was no other explanation.

Fourth Elder, Zane Wargrave, spoke in a calm tone, "Out of all of us, Azaron had always been the most talented and ridiculous, breaking every record and feat we thought possible." He paused as his thoughts spun back to their younger days, their adventurous days, their Star Academy days. Azaron had always dominated through it all. "And now, he first gave birth to Malrik, who is just as monstrous as him and even more so, and finally, he gave birth to another person who stands above both of them," he concluded as he stared at Asher, who stood with a smile on his face.

Nobody replied to Zane’s words. They knew it was the truth. But, following this logic, if Azaron gave birth to such ridiculous children, how ridiculous would his grandchild be? How ridiculous would the offspring of Malrik and Asher possibly be?
