Chapter 733: Arrogant Thoughts

Chapter 733: Arrogant Thoughts

Asher felt no change within his body, no sudden rise in physical power or anything of the sort. There was no need for him to adjust to his new power. While other people always had to adapt to their newfound strength, Asher’s Absolute Physique simply adjusted to it perfectly without any issues. Hence why Asher always felt normal despite the ridiculous level of strength his body possessed.

Asher shook his head, his eyes shifting toward the Perception stat. A smirk broke across his lips; it had finally crossed the one-thousand-point mark, meaning he could now see everything within a three hundred and sixty-degree view inside a one-kilometre radius with absolutely nothing escaping his sight. And it didn’t just stop at one kilometre either, he could even see an additional three hundred and fifty-seven meters farther.

Asher hadn’t noticed because he had suppressed his Omni Perception to the lowest possible range, which was a single meter, throughout his one-month hellish training. He would have turned it off completely, but Omni Perception was an ability that came with the Absolute Physique, so he couldn’t exactly switch it off like some ordinary skill. He could only increase or reduce its range as he wished.

Without wasting any more time, Asher allowed his Omni Perception to expand without restrictions. The moment it did, vast amounts of information flooded his brain, mind, and senses simultaneously. Yet did Asher care? Certainly not. He was simply enjoying the fruits of his hard work.

Suddenly, he paused as a particular piece of information appeared within his mind. He immediately shifted the focus of his Omni Perception, and instantly Asher’s sight turned toward the ground beneath his feet. He sat stunned for a moment as he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He was seeing the eleventh-ranked student sleeping peacefully on his bed below him.

One of the biggest limitations of Omni Perception that Asher had long come to accept was that he couldn’t see anything underground or beneath surfaces. But now, at this very moment, he could see directly through the floor and perceive the truth beneath him, including the student living directly below his room.

Asher immediately created a soundproof Astra Energy dome around himself before bursting into laughter filled with genuine joy. This had been one of the greatest weaknesses plaguing Omni Perception, and now it was gone. Why wouldn’t he laugh without restraint?

After a couple of seconds of laughing like an idiot, he removed the Astra Energy dome as only a calm smile rested upon his lips once more.

Asher didn’t need to guess to know this happened because his sensing range had finally expanded beyond a kilometre. Naturally, the ability itself had evolved along with the increase.

’Hey, System, this is exactly the type of evolution I’m talking about. Since the Perception stat hit one thousand points, it awakened something. Are you sure you aren’t secretly holding back my rewards for reaching one thousand points?’ he mentally communicated with the system.

But the system didn’t even bother replying, almost as though it had grown tired of constantly reminding Asher that the stats were merely numerical representations and nothing more.

Seeing the system’s silence, Asher spoke again. ’If you want to keep quiet, fine, but aren’t you going to give me some kind of birthday gift?’ he asked, looking for every possible opportunity to obtain something from the system for free.

Yet again, the system ignored him completely. It had already come to understand that Asher was simply a shameless lover of free power and gifts.

Seeing the system’s continued silence, Asher sighed and shook his head, choosing not to pester it further. His thoughts shifted back toward Omni Perception, as there was another newly unlocked ability, although it wasn’t something Asher particularly cared about.

At this moment, he could now completely turn Omni Perception on and off. It wasn’t something he considered especially important, but at the very least, he could now disable it entirely to maximize his training even further in the future.

Asher gazed at the system panel one final time before dismissing it with a mere thought. He loved his progress. It wasn’t merely substantial or impressive... it was immense.

’I wonder if I can fight Voidstar Life Rankers now, even if it’s the weakest one standing on the verge of dying from old age,’ Asher thought to himself as he touched his chin deeply in thought.

The moment the thought surfaced, he forcefully suppressed it. While he was proud of his outrageous talent and feats, he wouldn’t dare allow himself to become arrogant. He had just witnessed the difference between the Swiftstar and Firmstar Life Ranks through the numerical values displayed by the system. Only the stars themselves knew the terrifying difference separating the Wavestar Life Rank from the Voidstar Life Rank.

’But... doesn’t this mean the Inter-Empire Competition would be boring if I participate?’ he mused to himself for a moment before immediately shaking his head. ’Urgh, too many arrogant thoughts,’ he complained. With that single question alone, he had already subconsciously assumed that the students from the foreign Empires would be weak.

’Sigh... now I understand why talented people always end up becoming arrogant. With this kind of talent, it’s honestly difficult to remain humble,’ Asher mused to himself with an exasperated sigh. ’Maybe I should show off once or make some arrogant statement. I’m sure my humble side would return immediately afterward,’ he thought to himself.

’I wonder what the means of transportation between Empires even is,’ Asher decided to shift his thoughts elsewhere. ’Besides, just how far apart are the various Empires from each other?’ He fell deep into thought. Although he didn’t know the answer, he knew the distances involved would undoubtedly be ridiculous beyond comprehension. After all, the world of Crymora was simply far too massive.

’Hmm... since everyone is still asleep, maybe I should abuse the free point system,’ Asher thought to himself. Since there were only today and tomorrow left, perhaps he should take advantage of it. Even if he didn’t particularly need anything, he could still purchase random things simply because they were free.

After thinking about it for a brief moment, he shook his head. He was simply too lazy to bother. If he had been broke, perhaps he would have cared enough to exploit it.

’I should go back to sleep,’ Asher thought as he rose from his seat. Even though he had literally woken up only two hours ago, he still decided to sleep again. At this moment, his lazy side completely took over as he walked back into his room and collapsed onto his bed. If he had absolutely nothing to do, then he might as well sleep for the next two whole days without any problems.

And with that, the Dream Realm, which had only recently released his consciousness, swallowed it whole once again.
