Chapter 673: World Map

Chapter 673: World Map

The next morning came quickly, and Asher could be seen sleeping within his room like a log, as though the matters of the outside world had nothing to do with him. The morning sun rays entered into his room, reflecting off his face, and his eyes finally snapped open, adjusting slowly to the light that intruded upon his rest.

He stretched for a moment, his legs trembling slightly as he enjoyed the sensation, a faint sigh escaping his lips as his body loosened from its stillness. With that, he sat up as he yawned, "Sometimes I wonder why I could not reincarnate in a world of nobility without any form of energy like Mana or Astra energy; that way, I could just sit back and enjoy the gold coins without working," Asher murmured to himself as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, his tone carrying a trace of lazy amusement.

He swung his legs to the side as he proceeded to the bathroom for a quick shower, the day to return to the Star Academy having finally arrived. After about half an hour, he was done with his preparations, dressed as usual, but then, he heard a faint disturbance outside; the Estate was always quiet, and noise was never something he was accustomed to, as it was usually only the maids and Knights moving about in an orderly manner.

Walking towards the window, he stared below, and there he saw multiple carriages of various designs, each more extravagant than the last, with different types of monsters replacing the usual horses. Asher did not need to guess or think to know that these carriages belonged to nobles; after all, everything about what he was looking at screamed wealth, gold and platinum coins manifested in material form.

"Why are they here?" Asher murmured to himself, his brows narrowing slightly. The first answer that came to mind was that the Wargrave family was hosting some sort of noble ball or gathering. But the Wargraves were not a family that indulged in such affairs. Besides, they had just fought the Imperial family yesterday; there was no conceivable reason for them to host a gathering the very next day. Moreover, he had not been informed of anything happening within their estate.

Lyra, who seemed to always know when Asher was awake and done bathing and dressing, knocked on the door with her usual perfect timing.

"Come in," at Asher’s words, Lyra stepped in without hesitation.

"Good morning, Young Master," she greeted, as she always did.

"Do you know why nobles are coming here?" Asher asked, ignoring her routine morning greeting as his attention remained fixed on the scene outside.

Lyra stayed silent for a moment before speaking, "We were not informed, Young Master. Although yesterday night, I learned from other maids and butlers that nobles would be coming, as they were instructed to begin preparations. You may have to ask the Primarch himself, or the First Sun," she answered respectfully.

Asher remained silent for a moment before nodding slightly, his expression thoughtful.

Seeing Asher nod his head, Lyra continued, "Young Master, do you need me to prepare anything for you, since you are returning to the Star Academy today? Such as food, water, wine, or any other necessities?" she asked.

"The ones you gave me are enough; I have only been at the Star Academy for almost three months now, so there is no way they would have finished. Besides, anytime they do, I can simply teleport here and get more," Asher answered without turning to her, his gaze still lingering on the nobles below.

Lyra nodded; since Asher did not require anything further, she bowed and left without another word.

’It seems they are also here,’ he thought as his eyes settled briefly on Annabelle and her brother among the gathered nobles, though he had no intention of meeting them.

With that, his gaze tore away from the scene outside as he made his way towards the door, deciding to head to the Library. Upon arriving there, he would ask the Great Elder about the reason behind the nobles’ presence, as he was certain the Librarian would know.

As Asher stepped out of his room, Lyra immediately followed, as she was always stationed nearby in case he needed her. Together, they headed towards the Library, upon arriving, Asher walked in while Lyra remained outside.

Great Elder Morthen’s eyes remained fixed on his book as he spoke, "Is our family in another great danger, Youngest?" his words laced with faint sarcasm.

Asher could not help but smile as he replied, "Good morning, Great Elder Morthen," he greeted first. "Although I would like to say no to your question, with the gathering of various nobles at our estate, I am inclined to believe another storm might be brewing," he replied as he came to a stop before the Great Elder.

His purple eyes shifted towards the book in Morthen’s hand. ’I wonder what overpowered ability he would pull from this book,’ Asher thought to himself as he stared at the novel, curiosity flickering within his gaze.

"Well, apparently, the Emperor decided to hold a meeting here at our estate, since everyone is wary of the palace due to his Mind Manipulation ability," Morthen replied without waiting for Asher to ask directly.

"I see," Asher replied, his mind already spinning with possibilities regarding what the meeting could entail. Although he was tempted to stay and find out what would be discussed, it ultimately had nothing to do with him.

Besides, if a fight were to break out, he was simply too weak to partake in a battle of such scale. After all, there were tens of individuals at the Crownstar Life Rank gathered here for the meeting. It was best to leave early before any escalation occurred.

"So, what are you here for?" Morthen asked, as Asher always came to the library with a purpose.

His words brought Asher out of his thoughts. With that, Asher spoke, "I need to know if there is any type of World Map available, Great Elder."

Morthen’s eyes lifted as he met Asher’s gaze, then nodded. He did not bother asking what Asher needed the World Map for. "We have one. You cannot take it with you; you will simply have to memorise as much of it as you can," the man stated.

"Thank you," Asher replied, as he only needed a glance.

"Or... you know what, I have a more detailed one," Morthen spoke as he suddenly recalled another World Map.

Before Asher could respond, Morthen’s soul-bound golden book appeared midair. It opened and its pages flipped rapidly as Morthen activated an ability.

[Fictional Reality: Detection Type: Planetary Map]

Astra energy surged outward as particles of light danced and converged, bending and shaping themselves into a vast three-dimensional light map of the entire world of Crymora, illustrating every known place and location with colours, names, and intricate details.

Asher stood stunned as he stared at the sight before him in disbelief; he could even see the mapped regions of foreign Empires. He could not help but view the Librarian even in a more different light. Morthen had, after all, just summoned a complete map of the world as though it were a trivial matter.

"Do not overthink it; it is only a map of places that have been explored and those that are not hidden from public knowledge," Morthen explained casually.

Asher’s lips twitched slightly; he simply had no words for Morthen. He focused on the map, which was enormous to say the least, even after being condensed. His eyes flickered through every corner, every path, every forest, every territory, he missed nothing, even the domains of foreign Empires.

After committing it all to memory within a few minutes despite its immense scale, Asher bade farewell to the Librarian and left the Library. He had intended to bid farewell to Malrik and Azaron, but they were most likely occupied with the ongoing meeting.

So, with that, Asher only bade farewell to Lyra, and vanished from the Wargrave Estate as he returned to the Star Academy, leaving behind the brewing storm without a second glance.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: Sorry that there were no Chapters yesterday. There are no excuses. This was an error on my part.

I came back from work and set an alarm for 11 PM so I could wake up and start typing. I woke up to see that instead of 11 PM, I actually set my alarm for 11 AM by mistake. So I slept off and never woke up. I apologize, truly. Hope y’all can forgive me.

Also, more Chapters will be coming at the usual release time. It could be one more Chapter, it could be two, I don’t know the amount. After all, typing bulk Chapters daily for two books isn’t easy.
