Cleaver Of Sin

Chapter 601: Phasing

Chapter 601: Phasing

With that thought, Asher immediately moved to spring into motion as he was in a race against time itself, his mind already calculating his next sequence of actions with ruthless precision.

But before he could even take a step, death washed over his entire body like water from a shower, it flooded his entire sensation, drowning his instincts in a suffocating wave of imminent demise that sent alarms blaring through every fiber of his being.

Asher could only make out a golden streak coming in from behind with his Star Sense, the incoming danger screaming through his perception like a harbinger of annihilation.

Even with his newly upgraded speed, Asher knew it was too late to turn and block, he couldn’t even dodge due to Debro’s surprise attack and sudden increment in speed and motion, the timing and execution leaving him with almost no room to maneuver.

Although he was protected from head to toe in Lightning Armour and Star Form, Asher knew without a doubt that Debro’s blade would tear through these two enhancements and decapitate him if he didn’t dodge, the sheer power behind the incoming strike making his defenses feel fragile in comparison.

And with that, his body exploded in a burst of pure, crackling lightning as he changed into his Lightning state in less than a split second, his form dispersing into raw energy to evade certain death.

The moment he changed into his Lightning state, Debro’s katana tore through the space where his brain was like a knife through butter, the wind compressing upon itself and bursting outward due to his sheer power and speed, a concussive wind burst erupting within a thirty-kilometer radius due to a single swing of his katana, reshaping the battlefield once again.

Asher didn’t just stand around; the moment he dodged, he went into motion, his body flickering out of place with explosive acceleration, but the moment he reappeared again, Debro was already there, his Astra energy-cloaked katana singing towards his chest with flesh-tearing intentions, leaving no room for respite.

Asher’s mind worked into overdrive, his new speed, boosted by almost zero gravity, allowing him to react through the aid of Instinctive Adaptation and Optimal Movement Efficiency, his abilities pushing him to his absolute limits.

As these two Absolute Physique abilities ignited to save Asher once more, Asher’s hands blurred upwards as both hands gripped the hilt of his rapier to block the incoming attack, his movement precise despite the overwhelming pressure.

The moment the two sharp blades met, Asher felt a greater force thunder into his body like nothing he had ever experienced since the beginning of this battle. The force tore through his Lightning Armour like it was nothing, ripped through his Star Form with brutal disregard, and slammed into his body like an egg against a boulder at point-blank range, overwhelming and merciless.

Asher’s body was immediately blown backwards like a ragdoll, his form streaking through twenty kilometers in distance, a distance covered in barely two seconds before he slammed into the molten, liquefied earth with devastating impact, the ground giving way beneath him.

But Asher didn’t dare stay on the ground for even a moment longer, he immediately rose to his feet like a man with a cat bloodline instead of the Wargrave bloodline, his survival instincts overriding everything else.

But the moment he rose to his feet, all he saw was the tip of the katana barely inches away from tearing into his purple eyeball and bursting out through the back of his skull, death arriving once more without delay. Asher didn’t dare to hesitate, he didn’t turn into his Lightning state this time, instead, he tapped into his spatial element, and he immediately phased through the attack, shifting his existence beyond the physical plane.

The katana tore through his eye and pierced through the back of his skull, but Asher had already pushed his body into another layer of space, rendering the attack ineffective despite its apparent success.

The space behind Asher was reduced to a chasm, sinkhole, and nothing but devouring ruins and madness, the aftermath of the attack leaving behind catastrophic destruction that swallowed everything in its wake.

Asher, capitalizing on the close distance between him and Debro and the fact that Debro had committed to an attack and missed, now leaving him open and barely a meter away from Asher, immediately acted like a viper who knew exactly when to strike, his instincts honed to lethal perfection.

With wicked force and lethal precision, his hand blurred towards his waist where three daggers hung, drawing one in a seamless motion, Star Energy and lightning flowing through it as the weapon hummed with destructive intent, and without any hesitation, he stabbed at the man’s heart without a change in expression, his attack direct and merciless.

But before the dagger could tear through flesh, Debro’s other hand blurred and clamped down upon Asher’s wrist like a vice, halting the attack dead in its tracks, his Astra energy-cloaked hand tanking the lightning and Star Energy that sought to burn him as he made direct contact, his grip firm.

But Asher wasn’t done, Virelass vanished from his other hand the moment his dagger was stopped, disappearing as though it had never existed there. She appeared above Debro, and with a perfect circular motion of humming energy, blurred speed, and lethal intent and madness, she slashed at Debro’s neck, her purpose unmistakable: decapitation, a decisive end to the battle.

Debro’s eyes snapped towards Virelass as she slashed at his neck, his awareness sharp despite the chaos. He had once made the mistake of forgetting that the weapon was sentient, and he wouldn’t make such a rookie mistake again.

With a thought, Astra energy compressed around him, condensing into a volatile state, then with an overwhelming surge of power that rivaled atomic bombs, his Astra energy thundered outward with world-destroying force and might as everything within a twenty-kilometer radius was immediately blasted backwards with rupturing devastation, annihilating everything in its path.

A storm of dust and smoke swallowed both Asher and Debro whole as though it wanted to choke them within and also cloud the battlefield in a swirling haze of obscurity and chaos. But these two men had transcended being limited by such things, their senses and perception far beyond normal constraints. Within the churning and swirling dust, Asher immediately acted, refusing to lose momentum.

He knew Debro’s speed and strength had increased due to his mysterious awakened ability, so Asher decided to increase his own strength to compensate, adapting in real time.

During his training, Asher had created a skill that allowed him to increase his punching force by concentrating space around his fist, compressing it inwards before unleashing it outward with devastating effect.

At this very moment, he was doing exactly that, space immediately bending and compressing around his forefoot instead, adapting the technique for a kick, and with a whipping Brazilian high kick, Asher lashed out at Debro’s head, attempting to burst the man’s head apart with overwhelming force.

Debro, seeing the incoming attack, simply snapped his head backwards with precise timing, allowing the attack to pass by with minimal movement, showcasing his refined combat awareness.

But as Asher’s attack missed, Asher didn’t falter, he simply allowed the compressed space to burst outward, and with that, an explosion detonated outward, slamming face-first into Debro’s face with brutal force, the delayed impact catching him off guard.

Asher didn’t hesitate, he immediately broke free from Debro’s grip with a sharp twist of his wrist and vanished from where he stood, his body flickering a couple of meters away as Virelass appeared in his hand once more, ready to continue the endless exchange of destruction without pause.
