Cleaver Of Sin

Chapter 1238: Will

So, if there was anything that Yveric knew prior to his death, he wouldn’t know it anymore, nor could he tell anyone about it.

And usually, Kraymar renamed his Undead, but he allowed Yveric to keep his name as a result of Vellamira’s request before they came here.

While Yveric would remember his loyalty to the Wargraves, he wouldn’t be able to act on it because, at the moment, his loyalty now lay with his Master, Kraymar.

Kraymar’s ability was capable of twisting an Undead’s loyalty towards him. After all, if the ability couldn’t do this, what was the use of resurrecting someone who was just going to attack you?

Another limitation of his ability was Will, which was the most important factor. If the dead possessed an insanely strong Will that was almost as strong as, equally strong as, or stronger than his own Will, his ability would fail.

Kraymar had used this ability on Nazark Wargrave when he had tried to bring the abnormal man under his control. But he had failed, as Nazark’s Will was simply too monstrous.

Another limitation of this Necromancy ability was that his Undead simply couldn’t grow stronger through cultivation, even when they possessed Astra Veins, as they were no longer of this world.

It was a limitation that pissed Kraymar off, but at least his Undead became inherently stronger upon resurrection, and they could all sharpen and refine their skills through other means.

Kraymar raised a hand, then snapped his bony finger. With the snap, his Astra Energy hummed as the shadow beneath his feet twisted, then stretched backwards before tearing away from the ground and rising upwards towards the sky.

It twisted for a moment until it took the shape of a rectangular black gate. The black gate opened outward, both halves moving in opposite directions, revealing what seemed to be a shadow portal.

"Go join your brothers and sisters. They will update you on everything."

Kraymar stated calmly as he removed his hand from the Undead Yveric’s shoulder.

This shadow gate was where he stored his Undead. It was a separate dimension that came with his own ability, yet he couldn’t enter it as he wasn’t an Undead himself. It was one of his minor goals; to cross over and see what lay beyond.

"As my Lord orders."

Undead Yveric stated as he rose to his feet. He bowed, then turned towards the black gate. As he was about to pass through it, he paused for a moment, turning his head towards his own corpse.

He stared at it for a moment, then turned his head and walked through the shadow portal without any hesitation in his steps. As he vanished, Kraymar stopped channelling Astra Energy into the black gate, which then reverted to his shadow once more.

Kraymar turned his attention towards Yveric’s corpse, which was still on the ground. He raised a hand, about to destroy the corpse, but before he could, Vellamira stopped him.

"Don’t..."

Her voice came, causing Kraymar to stop in his motion.

Kraymar turned his attention towards Vellamira and saw her shed a tear, which she wiped away with a handkerchief.

"I want him to have a befitting burial. He has lived for this long, and he deserves it."

She stated, her tone calm as she stared at Yveric’s corpse.

Kraymar stared at Vellamira. After thousands of years, he still couldn’t understand this woman. But he didn’t have the strength or time to argue over something as little as this with her, so he simply stepped away.

"Since you love your toys so much, why don’t you shapeshift into a Human male or female and marry one of them for the fun of it? Then, when they die, you can return."

He suggested as he stepped away.

At Kraymar’s words, Vellamira froze, then her eyes lit up like fireworks. She couldn’t help but wonder how she hadn’t thought about this. Her imagination began to run wild with thoughts of herself and her new family.

She touched her stomach, wondering if a Human and a Sinvaira could reproduce... She had the organs and biological system for it... so it should be possible, right?

"Thank you for this suggestion, Kraymar."

She spoke, thanking Kraymar.

She had already made plans to begin this new adventure the moment this War was over and the Zarethorne Empire had settled down. After all, they had gotten everything they needed from this phase of the plan.

Kraymar simply nodded without a change in expression.

"We should probably go into hiding after this, as Azaron would go mad when he returns."

Vellamira continued as her eyes shifted towards Yveric.

Kraymar simply nodded, as he had no intention of fighting Azaron. Although they had grown stronger due to the deaths and emotional turmoil generated by the ongoing War, and were also about to receive another boost, they hadn’t become too arrogant.

Nobody knew the ceiling of Azaron’s potential, but they were aware that Threshold I had pushed that monster to the brink, which made them acknowledge her.

But now... another issue had arisen.

Since Azaron was a man of monstrous talent, whom even the Planetary Suppression seemed to barely affect, didn’t it stand to reason that after his life-and-death battle against Threshold I, where he nearly died but survived, he had gotten stronger yet again?

It had been almost a year since that fight, and Azaron had encountered someone who pushed him after so many years.

Only the stars knew exactly how strong the man had become. He was now probably in a realm of his own.

This was the reason why Cindaros had been against the suggestion when it was first brought up during the meeting. Although they had all thought about it, nobody had really said it aloud. After all, imagining your greatest enemy, whom you couldn’t even defeat, getting stronger yet again was a terrifying prospect.

Although they didn’t know the extent to which Azaron’s strength had increased, it didn’t change the fact that he had gotten stronger.

Which was why Azazel was destined to lose this time, even though he had drawn against The One Above All twice. That streak was destined to end here, unfortunately.

Although they already believed that even without getting stronger, Azaron would still win against the Black Disaster, after all, they hadn’t fought since they both became Crownstar Life Rankers.

"We should move. We’ve wasted much time on idle chatter."

Kraymar stated from his position.

Vellamira didn’t waste any more time. She simply waved her hand and removed her World Of Reflection. The moment they returned to the dark underground basement, she snapped her fingers.

Her Astra Energy hummed as it gathered around Yveric’s body, sealing his corpse within it. She was only doing this so the smell of blood wouldn’t permeate to the surface.

There were four other Crownstar Life Rankers, and with their outrageous senses, perceiving blood from where they were, despite the numerous sensory overload stimulations across the entire Wargrave Territory and Estate, wasn’t a stretch.

She waved her hand, moving the corpse to the side, as it had appeared in front of the huge black metallic door where Azaron had originally sat.

Kraymar walked forward and knocked on the door for a moment. This particular door was also crafted from the same metal used to build the Wargrave Training Facility, meaning it was indestructible.
