Cleaver Of Sin

Chapter 1221: Sickening Yet Mesmerizing Gore

Acker could be seen sitting on the ground against a tree with a smile on his face. He had already left his Blessed Form the moment Asher saved him.

Since Asher couldn’t arrive in time to save the Buddhist, he had simply swapped the positions of Acker and Saitama. As for why he hadn’t swapped positions with Acker himself, Asher was simply too lazy to take on the Dust Voidstar Life Ranker.

"Thank you, Clea... Tenth Sun."

Acker spoke as he corrected himself before he could finish calling Asher the Cleaver of Sin. His tone was filled with immense gratitude, as he hadn’t expected the Hero to arrive in time to save him.

’This proves that Buddha wants me to remain here and complete my work.’

Acker thought to himself as he raised his head toward the sky, thanking Buddha in his mind and heart.

’It seems I can only be killed once the Hero’s destiny has been fulfilled.’

Acker’s thoughts continued as he began to delude himself into believing he was unkillable until Asher reached the peak and became the Cleaver of Sin.

’And not just that, I need to get stronger. The Cleaver of Sin was able to kill a Spark Voidstar Life Ranker, and according to the Hero, Saitama can easily kill that Black Man, and he isn’t even a member of the Hero Party. Yet, here I am, a member of the party, barely able to hold him back.’

Acker thought to himself, feeling a little disappointed in his own strength. Although he had rated his mission completion a ten out of ten, it didn’t mean he was satisfied with his strength.

He closed his eyes for a moment, steadying his mindset.

What Acker didn’t know was that he was already outrageously powerful for his age. He was only twenty-two years old at the moment. How many people could hold back a Dust Voidstar Life Ranker at the age of twenty-two?

Besides, Saitama was twenty-seven, a whole five years older than him. He should be happy with his progress.

But one couldn’t help but ask: if Acker had achieved his current level of strength simply by deluding himself into believing he could match Asher’s previous combat prowess after witnessing it, would he be able to match Asher’s current combat strength now that he had discovered that Asher could take on a Spark Voidstar Life Ranker?

’I also need to recruit new members for the Hero Party.’

Acker’s thoughts continued as he opened his eyes.

’The Cleaver of Sin is the Hero, basically a Swordmaster. Lyra is the Hero’s Maid, as the Hero explained before, and I’m the Priest and Healer. Maybe Saitama can become the Warrior or Martial Master, or something along those lines. So, we need an Archer, a Mage, and an Assassin. Then we’ll be set and ready to rid the world of sin.’

Acker remained lost in his thoughts as he swiftly made plans, his delusions simply too abnormal. As he stared at the sky, he could already envision a future in which all seven of them would take on the sins of the world and finally bring peace to it.

’If Saitama becomes the Warrior or Martial Master, I will still be the weakest member of the Hero Party.’

He mused to himself internally as he shook his head. He had to change that, after all, how could he, the one burdened with the fate and knowledge of assembling the Hero Party, be the weakest? Wouldn’t that be some sick joke?

’I have to pray and cultivate more when I return to my room.’

He concluded to himself.

Asher, who stood beside Acker, wondered what the bald guy was thinking about before replying.

"It’s fine. We’re way past saying that at this point."

His tone was calm and low. Although he was only beginning to get to know Acker Holloway as a friend and as a person, he knew deep down that Acker would do the same for him if their roles were reversed.

One had to remember that Acker Holloway hadn’t been born bald like Saitama. The delusional fake priest had simply chosen to shave his head.

Saitama returned and walked toward Asher and Acker after eliminating the Black Man. Gazing at the two of them, he simply nodded, as even without speaking, everyone understood that he meant he had killed the Dust Voidstar Life Ranker.

"What’s the plan from here on out?"

Acker asked as he rose to his feet, dusting the sand off his body. After deactivating his Blessed Form, he now stood in his dark green Frontier uniform.

"We spread out in different directions and aid as many soldiers as possible. Although killing Wavestar and Dust Voidstar Life Rankers should be a priority since they can unleash attacks capable of erasing hundreds of kilometers at a minimum, I think we should aid the lower-ranked soldiers first, as the higher-ranked ones can hold on for a few more minutes and hours."

Asher stated, crossing his arms against his chest as he remained leaned against a tree.

Acker and Saitama fell into thought for a moment as they considered Asher’s suggestion. They weren’t mindless puppets who would immediately nod like lizards at Asher’s words. If they had any opinions, they would voice them.

"That makes sense."

Saitama stated after a moment of thought.

Acker also nodded, as he believed they should do the same. Although it would take a while to reach the various soldiers scattered in different directions, it didn’t matter. They would simply have to do their best to save as many lives as possible.

Seeing that both of them agreed, Asher turned his head toward Acker and asked.

"Can you still use your Blessed Form?"

Acker nodded as he responded without hiding anything.

"I can use it whenever and for as long as I want, as the Blessings of Buddha don’t have seasonal or time limits."

His tone was almost fanatical, or something of the sort, but Asher said nothing and simply nodded. He then turned his gaze toward Saitama. He had many questions for the man, but he didn’t ask, as even he didn’t like revealing his own secrets.

"Then let’s move."

Asher stated as his feet left the ground, and with a sonic boom, he shot in the direction of the Frontier. Acker shifted into his Blessed Form and flew into the sky, following behind Asher. Saitama simply followed, a small smile of excitement appearing on his face.

As they closed the distance, Acker and Saitama broke away as they shot off in different directions, since the three of them couldn’t remain in the same area. They would divide and conquer.

Arriving above a location where tens of soldiers were fighting and holding on for their dear lives, Asher attacked without hesitation. He didn’t bother descending to fight them individually or doing anything of the sort.

His Star Energy hummed around him as he tapped into his Gravity Affinity. With a booming sound, gravity intensified, forcing all the soldiers from the Velkarin Empire to their knees. Their elbows and knees shattered under the immense weight, and the next moment, their chests slammed against the ground.

Their breastplates caved in before exploding into metallic shards and fragments. The next moment, gravity twisted around their bodies, causing them to immediately explode into showers of meat, blood, and sickening yet mesmerizing gore.
