Cleaver Of Sin
Chapter 1219: Sue The System
As Asher stared at Zuri’s corpse, his Light Armor vanished as the light cape on his back flickered away into motes of light, and the light crown floating just centimeters above his head also disappeared. His Lightning Armor followed next, the bolts running through his body blurring away until nothing remained.
He crumbled to his knees as he panted heavily, his heart beating too fast, pumping and circulating blood through his body as quickly as possible. His stamina had hit rock bottom after his fight with Zuri. If he had been using only his Astra Energy, he would have run out long ago.
Sweat covered his body, leaving his clothes damp and wet. He knew that if it weren’t for his Thought Process Acceleration ability, he would never have kept up with Zuri. Although Star Energy enhanced his perception, it still wasn’t enough to keep up with that ridiculous woman. Even Omni Perception had barely done anything.
Thought Process Acceleration had kept him alive thus far, allowing him to process information and react at speeds that would otherwise have been impossible.
Asher waited for the Limitless Physical Growth ability to activate, but nothing happened. His exhaustion didn’t vanish, nor did he suddenly grow physically stronger. He remained the same.
Asher couldn’t help but become a little angry and disappointed. He had been barely two seconds away from death. One-third of his face, brain, and skull had been split apart, he had been bisected at the waist, and all four of his limbs had been severed. Yet, it still wasn’t enough.
What more could the Limitless Physical Growth ability possibly want? To finally see him die then come back to life afterward? If the conditions required to activate it were already this difficult and almost impossible to achieve, what sort of ridiculous conditions would he have to fulfill the next time he wanted to activate it?
It was maddening.
’Should I sue the system?’
Asher thought to himself but shook his head internally, his Astra Energy humming around him as his Light Affinity came alive. He immediately rejuvenated himself, his stamina replenishing within a couple of seconds as he rose to his feet.
As he stood, Saitama appeared beside him. He gazed at Asher as he spoke.
"Are you okay?"
His tone was gentle, his face changing into one of mild worry as he asked the question.
"I’m perfectly fine."
Asher replied as he stood upright, masking his disappointment and anger completely.
He gazed at the perfectly healed Saitama, his eyes trailing across the man’s body as he examined him from head to toe.
Although he had barely been with Saitama for a few days, he had developed the habit of physically reading people, paying attention to details ranging from muscle tone to other subtle physical characteristics. And now that Saitama wasn’t using whatever ability he had employed to keep up with him and Zuri, Asher could tell that Saitama had grown stronger after this battle.
Although the man looked the same, Asher wasn’t fooled. How that was possible, he didn’t know, but he knew it was possible since his own Limitless Physical Growth ability literally did the same thing for him.
Asher didn’t ask. He simply stopped staring, as he didn’t want Saitama to misunderstand and assume he was checking him out or anything of the sort.
Saitama turned his gaze away from Asher, his black eyes remaining on Zuri for a moment. He then looked at his own tattered uniform, which had been torn and ripped apart during his battle, and shook his head.
Although his clothes had already been torn and ripped apart, his gloves remained perfectly fine.
The Frontier uniform possessed the ability to repair itself after being torn, but nothing was infinite or limitless, and the uniform had been damaged beyond its repair standards and capabilities.
’At least I still have my trousers.’
Saitama thought to himself as he couldn’t help but imagine himself walking around naked because of this woman.
He turned his gaze toward Asher once more, his eyes filled with gratitude, as Asher had saved him three times now. The first time had been when the icicles impaled him, making Asher send a clone to transfer him to whatever dimension that was.
The second time had been when Asher healed him while they were inside that dimension, because if Asher hadn’t healed him, he would have succumbed to his critical injuries. The third time had been when Asher transferred him into that dimension again after Zuri created a miniature sun.
"We have to go help Acker. He can only barely hold that man back; he can’t kill or defeat him unless he summons the Buddha."
Asher spoke with mild urgency in his tone as he looked around.
Saitama simply nodded, saying nothing at all. During their battle with Zuri, they had moved thousands of kilometers away from Acker and the Black Man Acker was fighting.
They weren’t the only ones. Although the underground bunker was only forty kilometers away from the Frontier Wall, the battlefield wasn’t nearly as close, as various soldiers capable of covering tens of meters or even kilometers with a single step had moved much farther away. The battle had spread deep into the forest and in various directions, with the combatants constantly changing positions as they unleashed their abilities against their opponents.
Asher didn’t waste time flying. He opened a portal and vanished into it, with Saitama following right behind him. Both of them returned to the original location where they and Acker had last been before the low-budget Avatar took on the man.
Asher’s body was immediately covered in Light as he shot into the air, his body speeding in another direction. Saitama followed behind as fast as he could, although his flying speed couldn’t exactly match Asher’s, who was enhancing himself with Light.
Acker Holloway could be seen using numerous golden Bodhisattva Hands to hold back the Black Man and block his various attacks. He teleported once in a while, and any injury that appeared on his body instantly vanished.
Acker was speechless, to say the least. The man hadn’t even used his abilities, yet he was being suppressed this easily. Even his Blessed Form had failed to injure the man, serving only to hold him at bay.
His staff elongated as he swung it toward the incoming Black Man, but the Black Man simply leaped into the air, dodging with effortless grace as he landed on the enormous staff and then closed the distance with ease.
As he closed the distance, the golden Bodhisattva Hands behind Acker slammed into the sound and wind barriers, instantly unleashing surging shockwaves and sound waves powerful enough to wipe out everything within a four-hundred-kilometer radius.
But the Dust Voidstar Life Ranker seemed unimpressed. His spear thrust forward with ease as he tore a gaping hole through the shockwave and wind wave before moving through the opening. Arriving before Acker, he thrust forward once more.
Acker’s hands moved again, coming together before his chest as he formed a prayer gesture. The moment he did, two gigantic Bodhisattva Hands emerged from the left and right, coming together in a clapping motion as they aimed to squash the Black Man like an ant.
Seeing the incoming attack, the Black Man immediately withdrew his own attack, as he had no choice. Although he was suppressing Acker with ease, he knew that if the boy landed even a single attack, he would be injured. However, that would only happen if he failed to defend himself or dodge the attack.
His body shot backward as he moved beyond the reach of the incoming attack, the two Bodhisattva Hands slamming into each other without reaching him. But Acker wasn’t done. His hands, still held in the prayer gesture, shifted as he performed a chopping motion with his left hand.
From the Black Man’s left side, another gigantic Bodhisattva Hand emerged, moving with tremendous speed in a slapping motion as it attempted to swat him away. But the Black Man didn’t take a step back. Instead, he met the incoming arm with a palm strike.
A small black palm and a gigantic golden palm collided midair, the impact disastrous and deafening as the earth beneath their feet was pulverized. Cracks spread across the golden hand before it instantly shattered into motes of light. The moment it did, Acker teleported behind the Black Man and slammed his golden staff into the man’s head, aiming to burst it open.
The Black Man immediately sensed Acker through the disturbance in the air. He didn’t hesitate. He leaped into the air, performing a backflip over Acker and his staff with ease.
While upside down and directly above Acker, he thrust downward with machine-like precision, his spear whistling toward Acker’s skull.
Acker’s body moved through sheer reflex, speed, and reaction granted by his Blessed Form. His head snapped to the side as he dodged, but he didn’t avoid the attack completely, as the spear tore into his shoulder and sank deep into his flesh. The Black Man’s spear pierced through his golden scales as though they were nothing more than ordinary fish scales.
