For the next few hours, the group easily passed through the horde of Basilisks that kept coming out of their lair to attack them. But honestly, Vega was responsible for nearly 90% of the monsters’ casualties.

He was merciless and aggressive. Every time a Basilisk appeared, he quickly created copies of himself and eliminated it with either Spectral Blast or Ghostfire.

The latter was honestly a little overkill, as any Basilisk struck by Ghostfire was reduced to nothing almost instantly. Vega was having a great time with his new Class.

For an assassin who had spent years perfecting his craft, he could immediately tell how terrifying this Class truly was. He admitted to himself that this was the strongest Class he had ever equipped throughout his entire career as an assassin.

But there was something that left him slightly unsatisfied. Spectral Magus was not a pure assassin. It was a hybrid between an assassin and a mage. To bring out the Class’s full potential, the user needed a balanced distribution between AGI and INT.

However, Vega’s stats were almost exclusively focused on AGI, with only a small amount invested in INT. He had fine-tuned his stats slightly when he previously equipped Phantom Magus. However, Phantom Magus didn’t require much INT and MP to execute its skills.

Spectral Magus was different. Every active skill was extremely MP-hungry. Even maintaining his copies required a large amount of MP.

Right now, the maximum number of copies Vega could maintain was only five. If he created a sixth copy, his MP would be drained rapidly, causing all of his illusions to disappear.

Vega looked at the five copies surrounding him. Even with this limitation, the power he had displayed was already terrifying. And he could only imagine how monstrous this Class would become once he properly adjusted his stats. All of this was a challenge he was genuinely eager to overcome.

He then drank an MP Potion, which was already his twentieth for the day, then threw the empty bottle aside before adjusting his mask.

“How is the Class? Is it good?” Lars asked as he approached Vega.

But suddenly, the Vega he approached turned out to be one of his copies. Vega cancel all of his copies, revealing the real Vega on other side, causing Lars to become slightly embarrassed.

‘They all look exactly the same! How am I supposed to know which one is the real Vega?!’

The real Vega nodded.

“Do you think you can use this to beat Kay Sung?” Lars asked.

“This is more than enough,” Vega confidently replied.

“That is what I want to hear,” Lars said with a grin, already looking forward to their next encounter with Kay Sung.

Thud!

On the other side, Oscar was sitting on a rock, resting his chin on his hand with a gloomy expression. He played with a small rock for a moment before throwing it onto the ground.

Beside him, Benn Strong was looking equally depressed, while Aleph was reading through the details of his new Class, trying to learn it properly.

“Why do you two look so depressed?” Lars asked.

“Of course we’re depressed! For the past few hours, Vega has been massacring all the monsters without leaving anything for us. We haven’t even had a chance to showcase our new Classes!” Benn Strong complained as he pointed toward Vega.

“I don’t understand. Vega’s Class and mine are the same Rank, so why does his Class look so much more impressive than mine?” Oscar asked as he picked up another rock.

“Are you sure that Class isn’t actually Unique or Epic?” he asked suspiciously.

“It is Rare Rank. Ask Vega himself,” Lars replied.

“Yes, it is Rare Rank,” Vega confirmed.

Benn Strong suddenly stood up and walked closer to Lars.

“Hey Lars, can you give me a Rare Rank Class with abilities similar to Vega’s? I’m the only one here with an Uncommon Rank Class. I felt slightly underwhelmed,” he asked.

“No. I don’t have any Rare Rank Classes suitable for a tank role,” Lars lied. He still had Radiant Paladin, a Rare Rank Class, in his possession.

“Besides… even if I had one, I wouldn’t give it to you. Did you already forget?” Lars asked.

“Huh? What do you mean?” Benn Strong looked confused.

“You still haven’t apologized to me for cutting the queue inside the Dungeon Hub a month ago. I’m still waiting for that apology,” Lars said as he folded his arms. Lars was someone who remembered whenever someone did something bad to him.

“You… you still remember that?!” Benn Strong asked in disbelief. Only after Lars mentioned it did Benn Strong finally remember meeting him before. Back then, he had thought Lars was just another newbie hunter.

“I am sorry! I’m sorry! I should never have done that to you. Please reconsider!” Benn Strong pleaded.

“It’s already too late. Just be satisfied with the War Templar,” Lars said before walking away.

Benn Strong felt like pulling all the hair from his head as he struggled to contain his frustration.

“Pfft!”

On the other side, Oscar and Aleph quickly turned their heads away to hide their laughter. Even Vega seemed to look away. Inwardly, their respect for Lars was increasing because he was somehow capable of taming Benn Strong.

Soon, they made their way toward the end of the valley, where a massive hole was located. Just looking at the size of the hole made Lars wonder how enormous the creature living inside it could be.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake. At first, it was only a faint tremor. But moments later, the shaking became stronger, turning into a violent quake that made the ground beneath their feet tremble.

Then, suddenly, a Titan-sized Basilisk emerged from the massive hole. It had dark green and black scales covering its enormous body, while its red eyes glared down at the humans who dared to disturb its lair.

Lars looked at the Titan Basilisk before bringing out Genesis, the first weapon he had created himself without using a blueprint. He raised the sword and pointed its blade toward the boss with a confident grin appeared on his face.

“You should feel honored to become the first one to taste the end of this sword!”
