Civilization Chronicles: Rise of the Divine Creator
Chapter 657: Doting Father
However, when Nathanial recalled just who was responsible for producing these new clothes he could no longer do without, a deep frown appeared on his face.
Lucas was outstanding in every way imaginable, a fact that, when he was alone with his thoughts like now, Nathanial Rockwell would begrudgingly admit.
From all the projects he was in charge of, all the products he had introduced to the kingdom, and all the plans he had helped set in motion, it was undeniable how amazing Lucas’ abilities were, and when it came to personality...
The boy was mature, intelligent, brave, loyal, and everything else you could want a young man to be.
Some might despise Lucas for being a commoner by birth, but such people were blind to the reality that his origins no longer mattered.
Even if Lucas was still ’technically’ the son of peasants, ’dead’ peasants at that, everyone from the Rockwell Kingdom and the wider South-Central Region who knew of him also knew he was the First Disciple of Celestina Balfour, one of the strongest, wealthiest, most influential nobles in the entire region.
If there was one real flaw that Lucas had, it would be his poor cultivation aptitude.
With only a High-Rank Mortal Grade Innate Talent, Lucas would surely have difficulty reaching the top of the cultivation world, but even that issue could be overcome with enough resources and dedication, two things the boy certainly didn’t lack.
Forget about the backing he now possessed, the profits Lucas could generate from [Vision] alone, which Nathanial understood to be the boy’s private property, were astronomical, more than enough to buy the rare treasures, elixirs, and pills necessary to accelerate his cultivation progress dramatically.
And that was only one of the sources of income Lucas had.
As for dedication and determination, although Nathanial had only met with Lucas briefly over a year ago, the king could already tell that this child would never give up, never back down, and never give in when it came to pursuing his goals.
Lucas was pretty much the ideal man, or boy if one wanted to be specific, but if he thought that would be enough for the king to approve of him getting close to his youngest daughter, he had another thing coming!!
Just remembering the stories his wives had told him, about how Christina was rapidly transforming from a na?ve, innocent little girl into a young woman who was relishing in her first experience with love...
"Damn him! Damn that boy!" Nathanial cursed aloud as he began pacing again, stroking his clean-shaven chin as he mumbled to himself, "That brat thinks he can sweet talk and steal away my little Tina? Not if I have anything to say about it! If he wants to marry... no no no! If he wants to date... no! If he wants to get close to her, he’ll have to beat me first!"
.....
It was as the overprotective father was pacing, grumbling, messing with his hair, punching and kicking at nothing, and cursing out loud that a soft knock sounded at the door.
"Hm?" Stopping his slightly murderous musings, Nathanial Rockwell looked up with some confusion.
Proper etiquette dictated that before entering the King’s bedroom, one should always announce themselves; however, between him and his wives, there was no need for such formalities.
Funnily enough, it was actually Natasha, the non-noble, who most often observed this protocol, while Marianne and Cynthia almost never bothered knocking and simply walked right in.
As such, Nathanial couldn’t help wondering if perhaps it was someone else at the door.
It was late, and regular business for the day had long-since concluded, but the duties of a monarch never truly ended.
Knitting his brow, Nathanial Rockwell suddenly became worried that an emergency had happened, one that was so urgent that one of his Minsters or Generals had found it necessary to disturb him even at this hour.
Swiftly making his way over, throwing on a long robe he grabbed from somewhere and tying it loosely along the way, Nathanial opened the door with equal parts solemnity and exasperation in his heart, only for it to stop beating in the next instant.
Suffice-it-to-say, it wasn’t his nervous First Minister Emerson, or the grizzled old General Gunthar standing there, it was an immortal fairy descended from the Heavens.
Or perhaps she was a bewitching demon who had flown up from Hell.
Nathanial couldn’t say for sure, as his brain had completely overloaded and stopped working.
Even if his thoughts weren’t entirely scrambled right now, his jaw was hanging so loose that it was questionable whether he could actually form words with it.
There was a reason Cynthia Morgan was the publicly acknowledged as the most beautiful woman in the Rockwell Kingdom.
Long straight lustrous silver hair, a cute round youthful face that made her look no older than her early 20’s, big light-yellow eyes, flawless cream-white skin, and a figure far too voluptuous for her mere 169 cm height made for a devastating combination.
On top of all that, she had a naturally cheerful and playful demeanor that gave her an innocent yet bewitching charm.
Add in her bright sunny smile and her enchanting bell-like voice, and it was hard for anyone to not be attracted to Cynthia.
Nathanial had always considered himself extremely fortunate to have won her heart and her hand in marriage, especially considering the odd circumstances of their first meeting, and he really meant it when he told Cynthia she was pretty, or beautiful even when she was all covered up in the typical puffy, layered, over-the top clothes that were currently in-style across the Blue Sky Continent.
So, when she appeared before him tonight wearing nothing but a semi-translucent cobalt-blue babydoll with lace trim around its edges that barely managed to contain her bountiful breasts, and a pair of matching string-tied panties that left very little to the imagination, it wasn’t difficult to understand why Nathanial froze in place.

These pieces were the same colour as her dress for the earlier banquet, but where the gown had simply looked stunning on Cynthia, the lingerie she had on now was so shocking it was impossible for Nathanial to even think thoughts.
Seeing her husband react this way, even the usually courageous and outgoing Cynthia couldn’t help blushing brightly, which only further increased her allure.
The pair, despite having been married for over four decades and having slept together hundreds of times during that period, were suddenly at a loss for words, like it was their first night all over again.
Silence reigned, but not the peaceful, tranquil kind of silence that normally happens between an old married couple, but the tense, heated quiet filled with amorous promises that young lovers tended to share.
