Chapter 2349: Chapter 2309: Zhang Shaojie

The next morning, after breakfast, Ye Qiu and Ye Weidong prepared to head to East Sea City. Ye Xue, Xiaomai, and Chen Fang also followed along.

However, Chen Fang was going with Ye Weidong to look at a new store, while Ye Xue and Xiaomai were heading to the villa in Zi Garden.

After Ye Qiu dropped the two women off at the villa, he didn’t stay but went back to Jinling University, planning to check out the renovations at Yan Family Garden later.

By the time he drove to Jinling University, it was already the third class of the morning.

Ye Qiu walked alone through the classroom corridor, looked in through a window, and saw a woman who appeared to be a female teacher was giving a lecture.

He planned to sneak in quietly through the back door, but unexpectedly, the female teacher had already noticed him.

“You there, which class are you in?” Cai Wenjing asked.

“Teacher, I’m new here.”

Ye Qiu was the new transfer student in this class, though he rarely attended classes after transferring.

Understandably, Cai Wenjing didn’t recognize him.

“Where have you been just now?”

“To the restroom.”

Cai Wenjing said no more and just let him in.

Ye Qiu walked to his seat and sat down.

Next to him, naturally, was Liu Yun.

Although Liu Yun knew Ye Qiu was the top scorer in the college entrance examination for liberal arts, so what? When she saw Ye Qiu arrive, she only glanced at him before focusing back on the lecture.

During the break after this class, a few guys, including Liu Changshan, surrounded him.

“Ye Qiu, I advise you to leave quickly; Liu Yun’s suitor is on campus today.”

“Are you talking about that Zhang young master?”

“Yes, that Zhang young master.”

In East Sea City, the Zhang Family is the top family. However, there are many young masters in the Zhang Family, and Ye Qiu genuinely didn’t know which one it was, as he had already encountered several arrogant Zhang young masters before.

But he didn’t pay them any heed.

“If he’s coming, let him come. I’m curious to see which Zhang young master it is.”

When the fourth class started, Ye Qiu returned to the classroom. Liu Yun thought Ye Qiu had left, but surprisingly, he hadn’t and was still there.

Zhang Shaojie has been pursuing her for a long time, but she hasn’t responded, and the previous suitors from Jinling University had been scared away by Zhang Shaojie instead.

Seeing Ye Qiu still there now, she found it a bit strange.

The fourth class was again an English class.

The content of Professor Cai’s lecture didn’t interest Ye Qiu at all.

However, as the fourth class was about to end, Ye Qiu noticed a young man outside with a few people, staring in with a sharp gaze.

No doubt, it must be Zhang Shaojie.

Ye Qiu’s phone chimed with a message from Liu Changshan, informing him that Zhang Shaojie was in the corridor.

Ye Qiu glanced over and indeed saw a young man who looked the part.

“Is that Zhang young master your suitor?” Ye Qiu asked Liu Yun, sitting next to him.

“I don’t know him,” Liu Yun denied.

Ye Qiu didn’t have a good impression of the Zhang Family, likely due to his encounters with several arrogant young masters of the Zhang Family since his arrival in East Sea City.

He deliberately sat closer to Liu Yun, even taking a sniff of her fragrance near her ear.

Zhang Shaojie, watching from outside the window, was even more filled with rage.

Of course, Liu Changshan and the others couldn’t believe Ye Qiu’s guts, deliberately leaning close to Liu Yun even as Zhang Shaojie was glaring at them.

“What are you doing?” Liu Yun asked.

Though she generally repelled other males, for some reason, when Ye Qiu leaned against her just now, her heart fluttered.

“I just want to see how this Zhang young master will react.”

Near the end of the class, Zhang Shaojie burst in, walked up to Ye Qiu, and directly said, “You, get out with me.”

Ye Qiu stood up and headed outside. Although Liu Changshan and the others wanted to help Ye Qiu, they were also afraid of Zhang Shaojie, while the other girls only watched.

As Ye Qiu followed them out, a few of Zhang Shaojie’s guys tried to kick him, but before they could lay a foot on Ye Qiu, they found themselves already on the ground in pain.

As they groaned on the floor, Zhang Shaojie looked at Ye Qiu, a hint of fear brewing, but still arrogantly said, “Kid, I’m the elder young master of the Zhang Family; you’d better stay away from Liu Yun.”

“Who is she to you? Why should I stay away from her?”

“She’s the woman I’ve got my eyes on,” Zhang Shaojie replied bluntly.

Ye Qiu just chuckled coldly.

“I warn you, if you don’t want to die, go ahead and provoke me.”

He then pushed Zhang Shaojie, making him stagger several steps back, nearly falling. Those classmates watching this scene couldn’t quite believe their eyes.

As Ye Qiu left, Liu Changshan and the others came over, looking at Ye Qiu in shock, as they had expected Ye Qiu to be beaten up. Yet, he seemed unscathed.

“Ye Qiu, you’re really something; you’re not even afraid of that Zhang young master. But let me tell you, Zhang Shaojie has been a huge troublemaker, messing with several pretty girls from Jinling University, and he’s even forced several guys to drop out.”

“Even if Jinling University was founded by his family, I don’t fear it.”

“Ye Qiu, you’re incredible,” Liu Changshan and the others said, giving him a thumbs up.

Now, they invited Ye Qiu to the cafeteria for lunch, but Ye Qiu suggested, “How about I treat you guys to a meal outside instead?”

Ye Qiu and Liu Changshan, along with the other guys, headed out of Jinling University.

Meanwhile, Zhang Shaojie felt utterly humiliated in front of so many students, especially when those guys he brought along were all knocked down by a single kick from Ye Qiu.

“What were you doing earlier? Why didn’t you get up and hit him hard?”

“Young Master Zhang, it’s not that I didn’t want to; I almost threw up blood and simply couldn’t get up.”

“So you mean that kid can really fight then.”

“Yes, exactly.”

Zhang Shaojie acknowledged that he would need to find someone else to handle this.

As Ye Qiu and Liu Changshan ventured out to a street lined with food outlets, they settled in a hotpot restaurant. The other guys were still quite curious: since Ye Qiu was doing well at Jinling University, why transfer here?

“Ye Qiu, weren’t you doing well at Jinling University?”

“Yes, but there wasn’t much left to learn.”

“Then why come to our Jinling University instead of going to Fujian University or Shanghai University?”

“What do you think?”

Liu Changshan and the others couldn’t figure it out.

Although they had many female classmates, they realized that despite the numbers, there weren’t many they could actually hang out with, as they were truly in a situation of yin flourishing while yang wilting.

Nonetheless, they planned to teach at key high schools after graduating, so they stayed for these years because Jinling University still held significant value.

However, compared to Jinling University’s medical program that Ye Qiu was enrolled in before, this was still lacking a great deal.
