City’s Best Divine Doctor
Chapter 2257 - 2217: Do We Still Need to Be So Polite with Each Other?
When Ye Qiu and Ling Fei got into the car, they directly left the place and headed towards the Affiliated Hospital.
Upon arriving at the Affiliated Hospital, Zhou Peng was already waiting for Ye Qiu.
"Doctor Ye, where’s the patient?"
He was a bit puzzled as he only saw Ye Qiu and Ling Fei coming over without the patient.
When Ling Fei called her parents, she learned that the ambulance was ready to bring over her grandmother.
About half an hour later, Ling Fei’s grandmother was brought over.
At first, the young doctor and Zhou Xiaojv couldn’t believe that Ye Qiu was really well-acquainted with Director Zhou from the Affiliated Hospital.
Zhou Peng arranged for the doctor and nurse to place Ling Fei’s grandmother in a private ward.
Ye Qiu then went over to treat her.
Senile pneumonia, a common disease among the elderly.
If left untreated and it develops into a lung abscess, it could become much more serious.
Compared to younger people, the incidence and mortality rate of senile pneumonia are significantly higher due to multiple reasons.
Objectively, due to body aging, changes in respiratory anatomy and functions lead to reduced defense and immune functions, weakened function reserves of the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, or affliction with chronic severe diseases, malnutrition, etc.;
Subjectively, it is due to inadequate understanding of the atypical clinical manifestations of senile pneumonia by doctors or patients themselves, delayed diagnosis, and improper treatment measures.
Zhou Peng knew that when Ye Qiu was personally treating the patient, there was no need to call for the attending specialists of the Affiliated Hospital.
While Ye Qiu was inside treating the elderly woman, she woke up, but speaking was difficult, breathing was painful, and she had a lot of phlegm.
This was due to the lung dysfunction.
"Are you Ling Fei’s friend?" the elderly woman asked Ye Qiu in the local dialect.
Ye Qiu nodded.
"Grandma, please don’t speak for now. Let me treat your illness, and then we can talk," Ye Qiu advised.
He asked Ling Fei’s grandmother to lie down comfortably.
Ye Qiu began the treatment.
Mainly, her lungs were severely inflamed.
Moreover, due to aging, her body’s functions, including her organs, had significantly declined.
It took Ye Qiu almost half an hour to fully restore her organs.
However, she also had heart disease and diabetes.
These would have to wait until next time for treatment.
"Grandma, how do you feel?"
Ye Qiu asked.
"I feel much better."
She quickly realized that her breathing was clear, the phlegm no longer blocked her nose and throat, and there was no longer a feeling of lethargy, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, accelerated heart rate, arrhythmia, delirium, or confusion, severe cases even leading to blood pressure drop or coma.
Now, all these symptoms had disappeared.
However, the elderly woman still had multiple conditions; full recovery would take some time.
When Ye Qiu opened the ward’s door, Ling Zhengwei, his wife, Zhou Xiaojv, and Ling Fei found the elderly woman’s condition had completely changed.
Ye Qiu’s medical skills were incredible.
Ye Qiu stepped outside, and Zhou Peng was still there.
Seeing Ye Qiu, Zhou Peng shyly said, "Doctor Ye, we happen to have a lung abscess patient who hasn’t shown much improvement despite treatment."
The patient’s status was the main reason Zhou Peng was concerned.
"I’ll go with you and take a look."
Ye Qiu followed Zhou Peng.
They arrived at a private high-class ward.
After knocking, they pushed open the door and entered, seeing an elderly man lying in bed, dependent on an oxygen mask for breathing.
"Director Zhou," the nurse hurriedly greeted Zhou Peng.
While Ye Qiu examined the elderly man, he already understood the situation; the man’s lungs were not just abscessed but likely necrotic.
Lung treatment is more challenging than other parts because lung transplants are harder than kidney transplants.
"This elderly man’s lungs are almost necrotic."
"Doctor Ye, is it treatable given how serious it is?"
Zhou Peng asked hastily.
"There’s nothing to worry about."
After asking Zhou Peng and the nurse to step outside, Ye Qiu began treating the elderly man.
Again, it took about half an hour for Ye Qiu to exit the ward, and Zhou Peng knew the elderly man must have been cured by Ye Qiu.
Ye Qiu didn’t stay, and he returned to Ling Fei’s grandmother’s ward.
Zhou Xiaojv and others were astonished by Ye Qiu’s medical skills and wanted to ask him more, but Ye Qiu was nowhere to be seen.
"Ye Qiu, where did you go just now?" Ling Fei asked.
"Director Zhou asked me to check on another patient with lung abscess; his lungs are nearly necrotic."
"Did you manage to treat him?" Zhou Xiaojv asked in disbelief.
Ye Qiu merely nodded.
"Is my grandmother completely better now?"
"Your grandmother also has heart disease and diabetes; these need some more time for treatment."
This made Zhou Xiaojv and the others even more surprised.
They had no idea how Ye Qiu could tell.
For now, let’s treat this condition, and later, we’ll handle the heart disease and diabetes.
Seeing that her grandmother was fine, Ling Fei felt truly relieved.
If only she had known about her grandmother’s condition earlier, she would have asked Ye Qiu to come over.
Now Ye Qiu prepared to leave with Ling Fei to check out the villa.
As Ye Qiu and Ling Fei were coming downstairs, Ling Zhengwei went back to work, leaving only the two sisters to care for their mother.
They got into the car, and Ye Qiu drove towards Ling Family Village.
Arriving at the village basketball court, they parked there again; the last time Ye Qiu taught a lesson to the sons of village cadres, now, whenever they saw him, they were afraid and dared not approach.
They knew Ye Qiu wasn’t joking around; if they dared mess with him, disaster could follow.
Ye Qiu and Ling Fei headed towards the newly built villa.
The exterior of the three-story villa was now complete, leaving only interior renovation work. They were aiming to finish by New Year’s Day.
"The villa is almost complete, my parents plan to move in by New Year’s Day."
"That’s great, your parents can host a wedding banquet and invite relatives and friends over for a meal."
"Ye Qiu, thank you."
Ling Fei knew that if it weren’t for Ye Qiu, this family would have fallen apart long ago, and she wouldn’t be who she is today.
She knew all of this was thanks to Ye Qiu.
Since the workers were busy with renovations inside, the two did not enter.
It was evident that this villa, costing two to three million to build, was now the most luxurious in the village, and its quiet location made it a comfortable place to live.
"Between you and me, there’s no need for such polite words."
