Chosen as the Cursed Alpha's Seventh Bride
Chapter 341 Caught in the Act
Chapter 341: Chapter 341 Caught in the Act
Sebastian’s POV
We rolled into the hotel at dusk. I’d just showered and changed when Emilia’s voice came through my head. "Everything’s set. Play tired."
Out in the corridor, Emilia stretched and asked the group, "Anyone else starving? Let’s grab dinner."
Lily’s hand shot up before anyone spoke. "God, yes."
Scott, quiet as ever, shrugged and went along with everyone.
I leaned against the doorframe and rubbed my eyes for effect. "You all go ahead. I’m wrecked. I want to lie down."
"You won’t be hungry?" Emilia asked, all wide-eyed innocence.
"Bring something back for me."
She nodded. "Fine. Let’s move, people."
They’d taken maybe three steps when Willow doubled over with a groan. "Ow—ow, my leg—"
Fynn spun around. "What is it? What’s wrong?"
"That cramp from the water. It’s back." She hissed through her teeth.
Lily’s eyes went round. "Ugh, that’s the worst."
Emilia folded her arms, calm. "Then maybe you’d better head back and rest, Willow."
Willow winced, big and dramatic, then nodded. "I suppose that’s the only option..."
Fynn caught her elbow. "I’ll come with you."
"No, no, go eat. Don’t ruin your night over me." She waved him off like a martyr.
Emilia’s mouth curled. "Honestly, Fynn, what would you even do, sit there and watch her limp? Let her rest."
Between Willow’s insisting and Emilia egging it on, Fynn finally caved and let her hobble off alone. Then he trailed the others out.
I gave it a few minutes. Right on cue, the doorbell chimed. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
I opened it. Willow stood in the doorway. I’d been expecting her the whole time, but I widened my eyes and raised my voice.
"Miss York? Didn’t you head out with the rest?"
"My leg’s killing me, so I came back. Do you have anything for it? Painkillers?"
"Afraid not. What’s wrong with it, exactly?"
"Soaked in the ocean too long, I think." She limped, and forgot which leg it was.
"Should I run you to a hospital?"
She shook her head and walked straight past me into my room. "No. I’ll just rest a minute."
"By all means," I said dryly. "Except this is my room."
She turned and looked at me like the answer was obvious, then stepped closer and slid a hand around the back of my neck. "And what’s so wrong with resting in your room, Alpha?"
I let a slow smile spread. "Nothing at all. But I have to ask. Are you trying to seduce me, Miss York?"
"Take it however you like."
She pressed in against my chest. "Has Fynn ever mentioned I’m better in bed than any woman he’s had?"
"She stinks of ambition and cheap perfume," Ryder growled low in the back of my skull. "Toss her out."
"Soon, " I told him.
"Is that so," I said flatly.
"Mm-hmm. Care to test the claim?"
I drew a slow breath. Good thing I’ve got self-control, or this shameless woman might’ve actually gotten somewhere.
"And how would that work? You’re my best friend’s girlfriend, in case you’ve forgotten."
"I don’t belong to anyone." She traced a finger down my throat. "I won’t leave Fynn, you won’t divorce Emilia. We each take what we want. Clean and simple."
I paused, letting her think she’d won. "Fine. Let me shower first."
She grabbed my collar. "Didn’t you shower coming off the beach?"
"Worked up a fresh sweat since. Wait for me on the bed. I’ll be quick."
I stepped into the bathroom and sent Emilia a quick text.
[It’s all set. Get back here.]
Emilia’s POV
Sebastian’s message landed and I stood. "Time to go back."
Every head at the table snapped up. Lily gawked. "We literally just ordered. Why on earth would we leave now?"
"Because we have to. Right now."
"But why?"
Fynn looked as lost as she did.
I turned to him, and my chest tightened. He deserved better than what was coming. I reached over and set a hand on his shoulder. "Fynn, this whole trip? I planned it for you. To put your relationship to a test."
His confusion deepened. "A test for what?"
"Remember when Tiffany told you she’d seen Willow with another man? I saw it too. That night at the yoga club."
I laid it all out, and I wasn’t the least bit surprised when Fynn shoved back from the table. "No. Not a chance. Willow would never."
"We knew you wouldn’t believe words," I said calmly. "So we’re going to show you. She’s been playing you for a fool, Fynn."
Lily and Scott traded a stunned look but held their tongues.
"Show me how?" Fynn was shaking now.
"We go back to the hotel. This second. Willow’s up there right now, throwing herself at Sebastian."
"What?"
Lily’s shriek turned half the restaurant’s heads. By the time she pulled herself together, Fynn had already bolted out the door and flagged a cab, tearing off down the street.
The three of us scrambled after him. In the taxi I gave Lily the rest of the story.
We hit the hotel together. Fynn took the stairs, his face gone gray. He threw his own room door open first. Empty. He shut his eyes a second, then threw open Sebastian’s door.
What I saw froze me for a beat.
Willow lay across Sebastian’s bed in black lace, one hand fisted in his robe, tugging it off his shoulder.
At the crash of the door she flinched and let go.
When she saw who stood there, the color drained from her face.
Fynn went red. He launched at Sebastian, fist cocked. Sebastian dodged it easily, and I lunged between them.
"Stop—Fynn, stop! We did this so you’d see who she really is!"
Willow recovered fast, I’ll give her that. The tears came instantly. "It’s not what it looks like! He tried to rape me! Fynn, don’t listen to them, please—"
Sebastian snorted. "I tried to rape you? Sweetheart, you were the one all over me."
"Only because you threatened me! You said if I didn’t play along, you’d take everything away from Fynn!" The tears kept coming, right on cue. "Fynn, baby, believe me. I was only trying to protect you—"
Sebastian pulled out his phone and hit play.
The room went dead silent. Willow’s own voice poured out of the speaker. Slowly, the fury in Fynn’s eyes went cold.
"...Has Fynn ever mentioned I’m better in bed than any woman... I don’t belong to anyone. I won’t leave Fynn, you won’t divorce Emilia. We each take what we want..."
Her own words had her cornered, and she had nothing left. Not even those flawless tears could carry her out of this one.
Fynn just stared at her. The look on his face was worse than anger. It was disappointment. He turned and walked out, shoulders sagging.
Willow panicked. She chased thrills and status and other men’s beds, but underneath it she knew the truth. No one would put up with her except Fynn. The others only ever wanted her body. Fynn was the one fool who’d actually loved her.
She scrambled after him and grabbed his arm. "Fynn, let me explain, it isn’t—"
He shook her off and said, cold and final, "Willow York. We’re done."
