Chapter 484 - Angel Of Death Vs Lich God, Immortal (Part 2)
...
"How about we end our unfinished business?" asked Shin as he flipped the sheath on his left hand before transforming it into a longsword.
'Legacy Skill: Mondi's Style: Meteor Form'
After that, he quickly thrust that very sword forward while targeting Immortal's chest.
Swoosh!
'Extra Skill: Heart Seeker'
On the other hand, Immortal immediately braced himself to take the incoming strike while enfolding himself with a lot of dark mana. And in an instant, the dark mana that he accumulated transformed into a black barrier to protect his chest.
'Extra Skill: Dark Manifestation'
Bang!
The black barrier was just formed when Shin's sword collided with it before creating a deafening sound that resonated on the whole battle arena.
Both Shin and Immortal stayed still for a second after that collision before Shin slightly pushed the sword forward channeling a fire elemental mana on it, which was also discharged at the tip of the sword.
'Legacy Skill: Regan's Method: Burst Link'
Bang!
Shin perfectly timed the explosion of that skill alongside the delayed impact of his slight push. And due to that, the black barrier that was protecting Immortal's chest was immediately destroyed before the shockwave created by the explosion sent him flying backward.
While moving backward, Immortal did a quick flip midair to lessen the burden that he got from the impact and to also adjust his balance in the air. And while he was falling back on the ground, he suddenly made a snap with his fingers and summoned a wall made of bones in front of him.
Then he did another snap to teleporting himself away from that spot before casting a few sets of spells before sending it towards his previous location.
At the same time, Shin quickly used a charge of his 'Moonlight Steps' to chase after Immortal after sending him flying. And when he saw the wall of bones blocking his path, he immediately enfolded his left and right swords with the powers of the Sun and Moon respectively before throwing a cross slash in front of him.
After that, a pair of sword waves flew out from his swords and transformed into a cross-shaped energy wave that charged forward.
Swoosh!
'Self-Created Skill (Combined): Eclipse Cross'
Boom!
Despite destroying the wall of bones blocking its path, the 'Eclipse Cross' continued at charging forward before colliding at the barrage of spells that Immortal sent earlier.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Immortal stared at the ongoing explosion with squinting eyes, being alert for the next move that Shin was going to do.
But a second only had passed when he suddenly felt a fluctuation of air right behind him.
'Equipment Skill (Leg Armor: Megumi's Shadow): Death Travel'
Shin appeared right behind Immortal while swinging his sword in a very powerful manner. And when Immortal felt that, he quickly tried to blink away as soon as possible.
But Immortal immediately threw that idea at the back of his head when he realized that it was already too late to dodge that attack. And due to that, he chose to face the attack head-on instead of avoiding it.
He held his bone scepter with both of his hands and channeled his dark mana on it while gathering it at bone hand on top of that scepter.
After that, he took a couple of steps forward to create a few distances between the incoming sword and his body. He then used the momentum of his movements to turn his body around while swinging his scepter as if it was some sort of blunt weapon.
Bang!
Seeing that, Shin couldn't help but knit his eyebrows a little while looking at Immortal. He was suspicious about Immortal after their brief melee exchange at the Ancient Ruins. But after witnessing how Immortal countered his surprise attack fluidly, he was now sure that this guy was a Martial-Artist with a solid foundation.
"Tch!" clicking his tongue, Shin quickly tightened his grip on his sword before readjusting his center of gravity.
He then pulled the [Yamato] backward before throwing an upward swing with the other sword that he was holding in his left hand.
Clang!
But Immortal quickly responded with his movements and swiftly flipped his scepter, repositioning it at the most optimal position where he could to block the incoming strike with the easiest way possible.
After that, the two continued to exchange a few more blows in a melee battle that shocked every viewer watching the match.
The first thing was how Shin managed to get near Immortal who was also known for being an unreachable necromancer in the game. That feat alone was more than enough to prove his skills.
What's more, he even forced Immortal into a corner – a difficult situation where he couldn't even summon enough undead to protect him.
But the thing that shocked them the most was the fact that Immortal was fighting Shin in a melee battle. And moreover, that fight was currently in a deadlock.
How could a magic-related and summoning-focused class battle a fighting class in a close combat quarter – and on an equal footing on top of it?
Such a thing already flipped the understanding that most of the players had for the game.
All of the channels covering this match were also in a complete confusion after seeing such a scene happening in front of their eyes. Well, aside from one who even discussed how Immortal managed to achieve that kind of feat.
"As I said, Necromancers are one of the most overpowered classes of the game. Especially if the race of the said player fully compliments their class, just like the Undead Race, or the Fallen Human Race or Fallen Elves to be precise" said Mr. Casanova in a nonchalant manner.
"Those races have an overflowing amount of dark energy that could strengthen both their summons and other dark-related abilities."
"And if such a player had a special class such as Immortal, then the thing that we are currently witnessing is nothing to be surprised about."
"In fact, I am going to be even more surprised if I Immortal can't even do such things. After all, he is a top-ranked Godlike Player, to begin with."
After that, Mr. Casanova snapped, which made the virtual screen behind him zoom in and focus at Immortal.
Then he pointed at the skeleton hand on top of the bone scepter on Immortal's hand. And after a brief moment of pause, he suddenly added. "As you can see, the tip of the scepter is enfolded by a black aura."
"This technique is quite common for the top players of the game. I mean, including all of the previous games that are available before."
"There are a lot of names for this trick, but it is most commonly known as the 'Mana Strengthening'. And it is used to strengthen the battle prowess of the wielder."
"In a sense, it has a similar concept of 'Qi Reinforcement Skills' and 'Mentalism Enhancements' in the real world."
After that, he took another pause to open another virtual screen which showed a few of Shin's battles where he was using his 'Eclipse Wielding'. And that was when he continued talking. "As you can see, our challenger also possessed a similar skill of his own."
With another snap, the virtual screen behind him enlarged once again for the viewers to properly watch the ongoing battle once again. And at the very same moment, his attention was suddenly caught by a certain comment in that chat.
"Oh! That was a nice question!" said Arthur while nodding his head.
He then turned his head at the camera while saying. "Mr. Azlan said how Immortal can have enough physical stats to battle a combat-focused class in a melee battle."
"The answer to that question is the Race that Immortals have. And as I said from my previous streams, undead is a race which has a lot of advantages even though they also have a lot of disadvantages."
"And the one that I like the most in it is their innate physical powers. They have inexhaustible stamina and high resistance against a lot of elements aside from the light-related ones and other holy powers."
"Moreover, they can also gain a lot of physical strength by consuming the dark energy from their surroundings or from their specialized weapons."
"And given that it was Immortal, we all can agree that he has all the means to gather enough dark energy that can give him enough strength to battle any combat-class players on an equal footing."
After that, he continued explaining a few more details about the match that he could pinpoint on the spot. And due to his detailed explanations, which was not much interrupting his viewers from watching the match, the views on his channel were continuously rising up as more and more players chose to hop in his stream.
What's more, his occasional jokes made him more entertaining to watch than the official broadcasts of the other channels. And when the entertainment companies noticed that, they all started hating him to the point they started cursing him to have bad luck on his entire life.
Their viewership was falling down consistently alongside their ratings that were continuously plummeting downwards.
But Arthur didn't care about that as he was too focused on covering the match to the point that he forgot to check his current viewership.
He was even unaware of the unexpected news spread on the internet while Shin and Immortal were still in the middle of the match.
