Chapter 259 - Reunion
...…
Shin felt troubled at their current situation. He was being pinned down by 3 Titled Rankers, preventing him from going anywhere. He wanted to use his werewolf form but abandon that idea because his instincts were telling him not to do so.
What's more, his peripheral vision could spot that there quite a number of players keeping an eye on him; all of their class were either shamans or exorcists. And from the looks of it, they were waiting for him to use the werewolf form.
"Tsk! Looks like these guys really came prepared," he clicked his tongue before taking another look at the other side of the battlefield, trying to think of a plan to break free from this predicament.
Simba was having some trouble dealing with 3 Godlike Players that were trying to hold him in place; which was also quite fruitful since they were able to limit his movements.
Even if he was holding back his real strength, he should be able to brush off these three without problem. But much to his surprise, these three seemed to be quite skilled and have very good teamwork. And due to that, he was having a hard time shaking them off.
Given his impatient nature, he really wanted to go all-out to show these guys that he was really bad news. Unfortunately, he needed to wait for Shin's orders before doing that. He understood Shin's plans, that guy wanted to find the most effective way where they could conserve their strength the most.
But if there was no other way, then he should be ready to unleash himself at any given time. All he needed to do for now was to wait for that very moment to let loose the hungry beast laying inside.
Meanwhile, Cloe was also in a similar state. She was being hindered by a very skilled group of assassins. And from their movements and perfect coordination, anyone could tell that they were a highly trained group of assassins that were specialized at taking down their targets for as fast as they could.
Fortunately, she was not a simple one either. And with her top-class supporting, Blackie and her golden bear pet were able to hold the assassins at bay. But even if she was able to hold herself against them, the assassins were also able to isolate her from the rest; she was currently in a spot which was a little far from the others, making it hard for her to give support to her teammates.
Being in this state, Cloe wanted to use some of her hidden cards from her arsenal. But seeing that Shin was still desperately looking for a way to break through this current situation without relying on her and Simba's real strength, she couldn't bring herself from doing so.
All she could do was to sigh helplessly while muttering to herself. "Such a stubborn dummy."
...
With those strategies from the opposing side, Cloe and Simba were neutralized from the equation of the battle.
But that was not the only one that put a great pressure on Shin's side.
Lawless' group and the remnants of the Butcher Team were also being held by some groups that seemed to be on the same level of battle prowess as the two groups.
So, without those key figures and great teams on Shin's side, the strong advantage that Shin had on his side was lost just like that.
And with that, the Eternal Hope, Wing's Alliance, and Titan Guild were having a hard time dealing with the people of the allied forces of the other side.
Even if the Hydra Guild were being hindered by the Dragon Pavilion, the sheer numbers of the opposing alliance were still more than the alliance on Shin's side. And just like that, the opposing side was able to lessen the HP of the monster boss all the way to 15% of its total.
Seeing this, Shin became really desperate this time and signaled Simba and Cloe that they have no other choice but to reveal themselves. But before they were able to do what they were planning…
ROAR!
A very loud roar sounded from a distance and attracted the attention of all the players present in the battlefield.
All of them took a moment to turn their heads in the direction where that roar came from and saw an enlarging silhouette of golden light that was rapidly rushing towards their direction. And it didn't long for them so see what was coming.
"What the?"
"Is that a…?"
"…Dragon?!"
"A Golden Dragon?"
Zong!
Before anyone could react at that sight, the dragon flew past above everyone and went straight to the place where the monster boss was located. And while this dragon was flying above the members of the Powerhouses' Alliance, it opened its mouth widely and spat out a breath of blazing fire.
Waa!!
A lot of players of that alliance were devoured by the golden flame, killing them in the process.
After that, the golden dragon flew past the monster boss before drawing a beautiful curve in the air to make a turn towards the massive monster boss.
With a flap of its large golden wings, the dragon suddenly accelerated towards the huge monster with an unbelievable speed.
Zong!
Bang!
In just a blink of an eye, the golden dragon immediately arrived at the monster boss and took that latter down to the ground despite being the one with smaller size.
Boom!
Immediately after knocking the huge monster on the ground, the golden dragon quickly opened its mouth before biting off the neck of the latter.
Everyone was still not done processing what they had just witnessed when someone saw something in the air above the players of the powerhouses' alliance. "Look! Someone is there!"
Since the chaotic battle was a little quieter than how it was supposed to be, a lot of players heard his voice and they unconsciously raised heads to look at the sky.
There they saw an individual clad with a full-body black armor with golden linings on its surface. One look at this guy and anyone could tell that he had a knight-related class, especially with the weapons that he was holding.
On his left hand, was a golden round-shield with some black patterns drawn on its surface. The size of this shield was somewhat smaller than the usual shield that a normal knight was wielding, but this size was more than enough to guard the chest of the wielder if it was placed in front of it.
At the same time, there was a golden spear on his other hand that had a coiling dragon design on its shaft. There was also a dragon's head at the top of the shaft bridging the body and the head of the spear. Right below this dragon's head was a tassel in red color; it looked like the hair of the dragon's head.
The crimson cape dancing in the air and the red plume swaying along wind made the look of this knight more majestic yet also daunting.
Shing!
The eyes behind the knight's helmet seemed to shine for a moment before the man himself suddenly sent himself falling towards the ground with a great speed and unstoppable force.
Swoosh!
Boom!
When the knight donned in black-gold armor fell on the ground, a very powerful shockwave was sent in all directions while also creating a cloud of dust that covered that area. It was as if a powerful bomb exploded at the exact spot where he landed.
And the moment the cloud of dust finally subdued, everyone saw the mysterious knight kneeling on the ground with one knee while holding the spear thrusted on the ground with his right hand.
Behind him was the golden dragon roaring in the sky while stepping on the huge monster boss under its feet.
Everyone stared dumbfoundingly on this sight as they found it stunning.
"Tsk! What a dramatic entrance. That is the exact entrance that I wanted, I wonder when will I have a chance to do that," muttered Lawless seeing that sight.
"That guy looks familiar," mumbled Faker as he stared at the knight with dark-gold armor.
Meanwhile, as everyone was too stunned staring at that sight, there were actually three individuals that went straight towards that kneeling knight; and they were the trio of Shin, Simba and Cloe.
The first one to arrive was Shin given his superb movement speed. Though, the knight was already standing on his feet when Shin arrived beside him.
And when he arrived beside the knight, Shin immediately greeted him. "Still making a huge fuss when arriving even in the game? I see that you still haven't changed your style. Guessing your identity is way too easy. I don't even need to think to know that it is you."
He paused for a moment to turn his body around to face the crow of players on the other side, before continuing. "So, how was your vacation? Feels good?"
The knight clicked his tongue and replied. "Tch! Good my ass. It is pretty much a hellish experience and I swear with your head in the line that I don't want to go back on those places ever again."
The next one to arrive was Simba. But unlike Shin who passed through the crowd of players, he took the most direct way at coming here; he leaped over the head of everyone in front of him with just a single jump before landing on Shin's other side.
Bang!
"Welcome back, brother Arthur," said Simba the moment he landed on the ground.
Mysterious knight, who turned out to be Arthur, nodded his head and replied. "Thanks. And it seems that the two of you even readied a lively party just to welcome my arrival," while taking a look at the players in front of him.
And this was the time, Cloe arrived behind the three of them by continuously using her blinking spell. Unlike the first two who seemed to be quite energetic after seeing Arthur, she looked quite dejected instead. It was a look of someone who knew that there was a huge problem that was about to come.
She released a helpless sigh before mumbling to herself. "Now that these three idiots are together, I can sense that there is a lot of trouble coming our way."
Then she took yet another helpless sigh while thinking inside. 'How can I spend some quality time with Shin now?'
Sensing her arrival and noticing her mood, Arthur couldn't help but tease her a little. "Heh! Why are you here, Cloe? This is a brothers' reunion; girls shouldn't be here. And it is 'Monster Trio' not 'Three Idiots'."
Cloe glared at him and said. "Isn't there a princess in every story? That should be me on this one."
"But that princess is supposedly the girl of the leader of the group, not his sidekick," said Arthur while chuckling.
"Excuse me, Shin is the leader of this group not you," rebutted Cloe.
Arthur chuckled once again and said in a nonchalant manner. "But I am really the leader of this group," while turning his head at Shin and adding. "Right, Shin?"
Hearing that, Shin just shrugged his shoulders and said. "I don't like to be the leader either. I rather be the Ace."
"Then I will be the Trump Card," added Simba while standing at Shin's other side.
Arthur turned his head at her once again, but didn't say anything. But the aura that was coming from him was overflowing with 'See? See? See?' type of look.
Cloe gritted her teeth and became annoyed as she could feel the meaning of that look; it was as if she could see through Arthur's helm and could see the cheeky expression on his face behind that helm.
Then she said. "A dummy, a stupid brother and a dumbass friend. You three should really be named as 'Three Idiots'."
Arthur wanted to say something more, but that was also when he felt Shin looking at him with warning eyes. He paused for a moment and chuckled before saying. "Hehe… Don't worry, miss princess. I still support your ship with his dense brother of mine."
After that, he turned his attention back at the crowd of players who were starting to recover themselves and continued. "Heh! Looks like this is going to be an entraining one. I can even see some familiar faces, and there are even some interesting ones. So, how are we going to deal with these guys?"
Not hearing any reply, Arthur couldn't help but chuckle once again and said. "I know that you are still quite new in this game, but let's do it just like the usual."
