Child of Destiny

Chapter 2334: Monsters Joining the Prey

  • Next Chapter

Everyone stared at the enormous crevice running diagonally across the Heavenly Dominator’s body, cutting through its thick stone armor from shoulder to waist.

Compared to the colossal gorilla’s massive frame and the layers of rock protecting it, the wound was little more than a thin line. Nevertheless, its appearance left the surrounding players in awe.

After all, most of their attacks had barely managed to leave scratches on the Heavenly Dominator’s body, despite the impressive damage numbers they had dealt.

Even the wound Crimson Queen Riley had inflicted on the boss’s shoulder, and the scars Mad Lion Kross and Crazy Dragon Criss had carved into its legs paled in comparison to the devastating gash Emperor Dream had left behind.

Combined with the staggering damage value that had nearly reached three million, the difference between Emperor Dream and the other experts on the battlefield was clear as day.

Divine Soul’s earlier display was no less impressive.

Considering the Heavenly Dominator’s colossal frame and immense weight, the players still found it difficult to believe that Divine Soul’s black chains had managed to restrain the monster, even if only for a brief moment.

Both guild leaders had demonstrated power that set them apart from the other experts participating in the raid.

...

While the players remained stunned by the astonishing feats of Emperor Dream and Divine Soul, the other pinnacle god-level experts present watched the two with amused expressions.

"Hah! Look at those two showing off in front of everyone," remarked a female player who appeared to belong to the Foxkin of the Beastman Race.

She wore a ceremonial shaman’s robe and carried a long staff adorned with multiple bronze rings around its head, clearly identifying her class.

Standing beside her was another female player dressed in a revealing outfit that emphasized her confident, provocative style. A pair of blade chakrams hung at her waist, marking them as her weapons of choice.

Unlike the Foxkin woman, whose beauty and sex appeal stood out despite her ceremonial attire, the human woman seemed perfectly content to flaunt her figure and draw the attention of everyone around her.

Hearing the Foxkin woman’s remark, the human player giggled. "Perhaps they noticed your beauty, Big Sister Isabella."

Her mischievous tone and playful demeanor only made her already captivating appearance more alluring.

"Should we make our move, too?" she asked, a playful grin spreading across her face.

Isabella, the Foxkin Shaman, furrowed her brows slightly. "It’s a little too early to join the battle. But since those two are practically showing off in front of everyone, I suppose there’s no harm in joining them."

The two women resembled beautiful flowers, their appearances attracting attention like blossoms drawing bees. Yet beneath their alluring exteriors lay thorns that could easily wound anyone foolish enough to underestimate them.

After all, they were members of the Blood Murder Guild, a faction notorious throughout the Green Marbly Kingdom for its battle-crazed members and their obsession with fighting powerful opponents.

As the two women began making their way toward the battlefield, the surrounding players quickly recognized them.

"Look! The Queens of Blood Murder are finally making their move!"

"Desert Spirit Isabella and Fire Dancer Caroline!"

"Are they finally joining the fight, too?!"

"My goddesses! I love you! Please, just look at me!"

Surprisingly, Isabella was the first to make a move, despite being the more reserved and composed of the two.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

She tossed a handful of wooden carvings into the air, sending them scattering in different directions until they covered a vast portion of the battlefield.

Whoosh!

A moment later, Isabella formed a series of hand seals with her free hand before shaking the shaman staff in her other hand. The bronze rings attached to its head collided with one another, producing a series of high-pitched chimes.

CLING! CLING! CLING!

Whoosh! Whoosh!

At the same time, a wave of spiritual power spread across the battlefield, quickly resonating with the wooden carvings she had scattered earlier.

The carvings immediately began to grow, transforming into enormous totem pillars that slammed into the desert floor.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Once the pillars had firmly planted themselves in the ground, streaks of light shot from their tops, connecting one pillar to another until an intricate network of luminous lines covered the area between them.

In the blink of an eye, a powerful magic array illuminated a vast section of the battlefield.

Strangely, the players standing within its boundaries felt no discernible change. Despite the brilliant display of light and the obvious commotion surrounding them, none could tell what the formation was supposed to do.

Their confusion, however, did not last long.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The stone monkeys within the formation suddenly began shattering one after another. Their rocky bodies crumbled into countless fragments, which quickly disintegrated into fine dust and scattered across the desert winds.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Under the influence of the formation, none of the shattered stone monkeys could reassemble themselves. An inexplicable force seemed to purify their remains, forcibly severing their connection to whatever had summoned them and sending them back into oblivion.

In a matter of moments, the seemingly endless horde of stone monkeys within the formation was wiped out.

The surrounding players stared in astonishment.

While everyone else had been struggling to destroy the stone monkeys, Isabella had found a way to prevent them from regenerating altogether.

And she had done so without even needing to fight them directly.

Swoosh!

While the players were still captivated by Isabella’s display, a blurred silhouette suddenly dashed across the battlefield, heading straight toward the colossal gorilla.

ROAR!

Having just suffered Emperor Dream’s devastating attack, the Heavenly Dominator was understandably enraged.

It raised one of its colossal fists, preparing to smash the haughty player standing before it.

Emperor Dream remained composed, seemingly ready to face the incoming attack.

However, just as he was about to respond, the blurred silhouette shot past him and charged directly toward the Heavenly Dominator.

Whoosh!

The figure raced up the colossal gorilla’s body as though traversing level ground, effortlessly scaling its massive limbs and torso.

Within moments, it reached the Heavenly Dominator’s shoulder before leaping high into the air.

For an instant, the figure hung suspended against the sky.

The players watching from below focused their attention on the airborne combatant and finally recognized her.

It was Caroline!

Twisting her body in midair, the human woman wielded a blade chakram in each hand.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Terrifying flames suddenly erupted from both weapons, spreading outward until they resembled a pair of blazing wings extending from her arms.

With a playful smile still lingering on her face, Caroline spread her arms wide, allowing the fiery chakrams to carve brilliant arcs through the air.

Then, gravity took hold.

Her body plunged toward the ground as she twisted in the opposite direction, spinning rapidly while descending from the sky.

SHING! SHING! SHING!

A succession of blazing crescents burst from her spinning chakrams, sweeping in every direction as she descended from her tremendous height.

The fiery blades tore across the Heavenly Dominator’s colossal body, leaving burning wounds in their wake.

(-150,235), (-145,992), (-155,007), ...

A continuous stream of crimson damage numbers appeared above the monster’s head, each one marking another successful strike.

Individually, the numbers were far less impressive than the nearly three-million-damage blow Emperor Dream had unleashed moments earlier.

But Caroline’s attack was never about a single devastating strike.

Dozens of blazing crescents struck the Heavenly Dominator in rapid succession, and their combined damage quickly accumulated to a staggering total.

ROOOAR!

As Caroline landed gracefully on the desert floor, the Heavenly Dominator unleashed a thunderous roar that shook the entire battlefield. The colossal gorilla was now thoroughly enraged.

BOOM!

It immediately swung its enormous fist downward, bringing it crashing toward the ground.

However, instead of targeting Emperor Dream, who had been its original target, the Heavenly Dominator redirected its attack toward Caroline, who was still striking a triumphant pose beneath its titanic frame as though she had just finished a spectacular performance.

WHOOSH!

As the shadow of the colossal fist swallowed Caroline, threatening to crush her beneath its overwhelming force, a terrifying beam of light suddenly streaked across the battlefield.

It struck the descending fist squarely in midair.

BOOOOOOM!

A devastating explosion erupted upon impact, unleashing a tremendous shock wave that forced the colossal fist backward and violently altered its trajectory.

(-4,992,781)

At the same time, an enormous damage number appeared above the Heavenly Dominator’s head.

Nearly five million damage!

The figure far surpassed Emperor Dream’s previous attack, leaving the surrounding players wide-eyed and open-mouthed.

Yet the spectacle was far from over.

Before anyone could even turn toward the source of the beam, the Heavenly Dominator’s redirected fist came crashing down against its own body.

BOOOOOOM!

(-12,985,512)

An even more staggering damage number flashed above the colossal gorilla’s head, making the surrounding players utterly dumbfounded.

The Heavenly Dominator had just suffered nearly thirteen million damage from its own attack!

"You can do that, too?!"

The exclamation escaped from someone in the crowd, voicing the disbelief shared by countless others.

Staggering from the impact, the Heavenly Dominator stumbled backward, its massive frame shaking from the force of its own blow.

Only then did the surrounding players turn toward the direction from which the earlier beam had originated.

There, atop a towering sand dune, knelt a muscular figure with a massive mana cannon mounted over one shoulder.

The weapon was enormous, its imposing barrel resembling a siege cannon designed to tear through fortifications. Wisps of smoke rose from its muzzle, which still glowed red from the tremendous heat generated by the attack he had just unleashed.

The figure slowly lowered the weapon, revealing his identity to the watching players.

"That’s Azure Black Guild’s Chief Gunner! Calamity Cannon Thunderlord!"

The surrounding players immediately recognized him.

Like the four formidable experts who had demonstrated their strength before him, Thunderlord was a renowned figure whose name carried considerable weight throughout the Green Marbly Kingdom.

However, he wasn’t alone.

Standing beside him was another player clad in an Enchanter’s robe, his appearance clearly identifying his class. Unlike Thunderlord, who appeared to belong to a variant of the Human Race, this individual possessed the distinctive features of a Blood Elf from the Elven Race.

A magic grimoire floated before him as he chanted a series of incantations in the Elvish tongue. Streams of magical energy flowed from its pages, weaving together into intricate patterns before enveloping Thunderlord in layers of mystical light.

The surrounding players immediately recognized the Enchanter as well.

"That’s Azure Black’s, Deputy Guild Leader! Arcane Conductor Valtherion!"

"I heard his buffs are ridiculously powerful! Every single one of them is practically overpowered!"

"Damn! No wonder Thunderlord’s attack dealt that much damage! Valtherion must have stacked him with his strongest buffs!"

The locals of the Green Marbly Kingdom were naturally familiar with Valtherion’s reputation.

Among the kingdom’s many support specialists, he was widely regarded as one of the most formidable Enchanters in existence.

And judging by the devastating attack Thunderlord had just unleashed, it was clear that the two top executives of Azure Black had no intention of being overshadowed by the other powerhouses participating in the raid.

Sigh~!

While everyone was going wild over the successive appearances of the monstrous experts from the Green Marbly Kingdom’s various Powerhouse Guilds, a helpless sigh suddenly came from a secluded corner of the battlefield.

Amid the deafening roars and explosions, hardly anyone noticed it.

Those standing nearby, however, heard the sigh clearly.

"These guys are practically forcing me to make a spectacular entrance, too."

A lazy voice followed, sounding as though its owner were genuinely complaining about the other powerhouses’ impressive displays.

The nearby players turned toward the source, ready to reprimand whoever had dared to make such a remark. After all, who did this person think they were to speak so casually about the kingdom’s most formidable experts?

However, the moment they recognized the speaker, their words died in their throats.

On top of a massive boulder, a Wolfkin Berserker lay sprawled across its flattened surface, watching the ongoing raid with an utterly carefree expression.

"That... isn’t the rumored Alliance Leader of the Desert Sun Coalition?!"

"Celestial Sun Solfang! He’s one of the kingdom’s most notorious powerhouses!"

"Exactly! Don’t let that laid-back attitude fool you. Rumor has it that he’s just as battle-crazed as the leader of the Blood Murder Guild!"

The moment his identity was revealed, the surrounding players grew excited.

With another pinnacle expert finally making an appearance, many eagerly anticipated yet another spectacular display of strength.

Unfortunately for them, Solfang showed no intention of joining the battle.

He simply remained sprawled across the boulder, watching the fight as though he had no intention of getting involved anytime soon.

His apparent indifference left many players disappointed.

Some even began speculating that the Desert Sun Coalition was reluctant to compete with the other Powerhouse Guilds because of its inferior standing. After all, unlike the kingdom’s Super and Ultra Guilds, the Desert Sun Coalition was merely a Hyper Guild—a coalition of First-Rate and lower-ranked guilds.

Little did they know that Solfang’s lack of interest had nothing to do with the strength of his coalition.

His attention was simply fixed on a particular individual who was also observing the raid from a distance.

"Let’s wait a little longer. Those guys are more than enough to keep the situation under control for now," Solfang muttered to himself.

He then shifted his gaze toward a certain direction, the corners of his mouth curling into a wicked grin.
