Child of Destiny

Chapter 2212 - 2212: Echoes of the Ocean Legend (Part 7)

...

Felix and Felicia did not immediately make their move when they appeared. They only observed the ongoing battle between Shin and Leviathan from a safe distance while also keeping a close eye on the four commander-level sweepers, making sure that they would not go anywhere or do anything funny.

"That should be the rumored Battle God of the Empyrean Talons," said Felix while watching the intense battle that was already getting more intense as the battle went on.

Felicia then pursed her lips while watching the battle before commenting. "I must admit that they are indeed on another level."

She was still confident in herself, but she also knew that she would be having serious troubles when facing either of those two in their strongest state that they had.

It was even more true for Shin, who seemed to be taking this battle quite leisurely despite being subjected to the combined assaults of those three reinforced ice clones.

There were also the constant ambushes that Leviathan himself was throwing from time to time with his special spells.

The ice puppets that Leviathan usually used as his main means to attack had just become some moving explosives that would pounce at Shin whenever they found a chance.

It was also the same for those ice golems, which seemed to have become moving terrains that the three ice clones could take advantage of whenever they found themselves in a less favorable situation.

Shin could not blindly chase after them either, since those ice golems could also detonate themselves, becoming a powerful walking bomb.

However, Shin was able to deal with everything with ease, regardless of the situation, seemingly not taking his opponent seriously.

From her perspective, Shin seemed to be using Leviathan and the pressure that the latter was giving him as some sort of grinding stone to sharpen his swords and polish his swordsmanship.

It might be hard to notice for other people, but she was able to see through these and felt that Shin was extremely bold for trying it during an intense battle. Even she was not bold enough to try it herself, especially when against someone of Leviathan's caliber.

Moreover, she could also notice that Shin's skills and techniques were indeed growing stronger at an unimaginable speed during the battle, which she found absurd.

Shin was already powerful enough to be called a monster, yet he was still constantly becoming more powerful and much stronger with every passing second.

She could also see that his already mature techniques were melding with each other, particularly those strange movement techniques that made him look like multiple ghosts stacked on top of one another, which seemed to be steadily integrating itself to the whole battle system that Shin had.

In her eyes, Shin's techniques and combat style were already complete and mature, yet they were still constantly improving and steadily evolving into something even more terrifying.

On her side, Felix seemed to have noticed this as well, making him sigh deeply. "Truly worthy of the title Battle God. So, he is a Battle Genius, huh?"

For people like them, who had a special background, it was quite easy for them to see through Shin's combat talent and figure out what it was.

"This era is indeed much more special than the previous ones, just like what the Great Elder has said. These monsters are everywhere," he mumbled while watching the battle.

He then turned to his twin sister and asked. "If it were you, would you be able to fight that Leviathan guy with such ease?"

Felicia gave him a sidelong glance before asking. "What about you? Can you last that long without showing your true colors?"

"Ayiah~!" reacted Felix after his twin sister threw the question back at him. "I must admit that I can't do any better than that. But I will at least be able to put up a good fight, don't you think?"

"Tsk! Tsk! Always dodging the important point of the question," complained Felicia before falling into silence.

Sensing the sudden change in her mood, Felix seemed to have realized something and asked. "Don't tell me you are considering that?"

Felicia turned to her twin brother and asked. "Don't you think that they are a good choice? At least, they are much better than those guys who are constantly hounding us and our sect."

"The elders have said that the Divine Sound Sect is established to produce the storytellers of every generation."

"Bards, poets, and any other people who tell the tales of the past generations are said to be the witnesses of those legends. They tell the people the truth of the world through their songs and stories."

"We are merely the witnesses of the creation of those legends and storytellers of the past. This is what the Great Elder is always telling us."

"We just have to find the right people, who will be the protagonists of our stories," she added while staring at her twin brother with determination.

"You should know why those people are constantly putting pressure on us, which is also why our elders are telling us not to reveal ourselves."

"However, the Great Elder also says that when we find the right people, who will become the protagonists of our stories, we must seize those opportunities and not let go," she continued, seemingly trying to convince her twin brother.

Felix fell into deep contemplation for quite a while before turning his gaze to the ongoing battle. "Is he your chosen one, then?"

But this surprise, Felicia shook her head. "No."

"Eh!?" Felix turned at her with a weird gaze, completely confused.

It was then that Felicia continued and explained. "Not just him. I am talking about the entirety of the Empyrean Talons."

"You should know what I am talking about," she added with full seriousness.

Felix paused before turning his attention back to Shin. He went silent for quite a while before sighing helplessly. "Alright, let's go with your choice."

"But-…" he then paused for a moment, turning back at Felicia, before continuing. "But we still have to observe them for quite a while before making our final decision."

"We do not want to end up like those rogues, who have chosen a villain instead of a protagonist in their stories," he added before turning toward the four commander-level sweepers, who seemed to be trying to sneak away from them.

"Let's deal with those guys first before proceeding to the next part of our plan," he added while unsheathing his strange two-pronged sword.

Felicia pursed her lips before complaining. "You can handle them yourself, anyway. Do you really need my help?"

Felix frowned a little before sighing. "Then leave them to me. Just make sure that no one will escape to prevent any accidents later."

Felicia shrugged her shoulders before taking out a blue orb from her inventory.

"You-…!" Felix was shocked when he saw her take out that item and wanted to stop her.

Crack!

Unfortunately, Felicia just smiled at him and crushed that blue orb before he could even say anything.

BOOM!

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Immediately after, a massive flood of energy suddenly spread within a hundred-meter radius before turning into a massive dome that enclosed everything.

Seeing this, Felix could only helplessly complain. "Since when have you become too lazy?"

Felicia just shrugged her shoulders while replying. "I just do not want anyone to disturb me from observing one of the protagonists of the story that I want to tell."

She then disappeared, leaving her twin brother behind and alone with the four commander-level sweepers. It seemed like she wanted to look for a good vantage point, where she could properly observe the battle between Leviathan and Shin.

The corner of Felix's mouth could not help but twitch when he saw this. He could only helplessly sigh while complaining. "Since when has this lass become such a lazy person?"

This then made him turn to the four opponents standing on the opposing side.

"Since you guys are here to accompany me, then you'd better serve as good entertainment because I am currently in a bad mood," he said to the four, adding. "If you disappoint me even for a bit, then I will make sure to let you experience something extremely unpleasant that you will remember even if you log out of the game."

In the meantime, the four commander-level sweepers wanted to retreat when they saw the sudden appearance of the dome.

Unfortunately, it was already too late when they realized that they were being trapped within it. The dome was already formed before they could even start running.

Not long after, they saw Felix, who was supposed to be their earlier target, standing before them while also releasing an extremely terrifying pressure.

This aura was not something that they felt earlier when they were trying to hunt Felix.

Morroc and his earlier partner, who had fought against Felix and Felicia earlier, could not help but wear a grim expression when they saw the current state of this opponent.

"Use that thing. We can't afford to fail here now," said Maya, realizing their current situation.
